  1. Winner winner, chicken wing dinner. You sir made the correct call. The rules to PPC reads: "PCC: Except when within the boundaries of a safety area, or when under the supervision and direct command of a Range Officer, competitors must carry their pistol caliber carbine: 5.2.1.3 With no ammunition or magazines inserted. 5.2.1.4 A chamber safety flag, or clear chamber device must be used at all times and be visible externally whenever the firearm is not in a case or sleeve. Anyone found in violation of this rule will be immediately escorted by a Range Officer to a suitable range or safety area where appropriate corrective action shall be made." Because the shooter carried the firearm to the line completely inside his backpack, and only removed it under the direct supervision and command of a Range Officer, he was in compliance. I want to thank you OP for having the courage to stick up to ignorance and making the right call. Far too many RO's get power hungry and like to call people for violations resulting in DQ's without true justification. I understand that these are safety related, but in essence, the shooter WAS being safe, so tell those law enforcement wannabe's to back down. There's nothing to see here.
  2. I have reloaded about 20,000 rounds of 38 Super Comp on the Dillon Carbide dies. They work great and they also qualify for the Dillon NO BS guarantee. The ammunition I use is very accurate (think steel hits out to 250 yards).
  3. I also purchased this kit and it was money well spent. Probably the best tuning kit and video you can buy on the market.
  4. So on other words John, they didn't fix your issues (and they are magazine issues) and sent the magazines back without any tuning or replacement of the magazine itself. Unfortunately, your problems will not be going away anytime soon. I received the same treatment. Explanation of how the magazine is fine, that it must be my gun or my ammo. It pretty much was an exercise in proving that the magazine was perfect and not in taking care of the customer. Sold my MBX magazines and replaced them with STI tubes, Grams Engineering Springs and Taran Tactical basepads. My problems with feeding went away. Good luck John.
  5. I am noticing that people who shot a lot before the thumb rest are not happy with the thumb rest. I think this is mainly because they learned to shoot without one. I suggest that if you are a new(ish) shooter to go ahead and learn with the thumb rest. I personally started shooting open about 2 years ago and always shot with it. I tried without and noticed I had MUCH less recoil control and my speed suffered because I had to wait to get the sights to come back. For me personally, it is a no brainer, you get more leverage over the barrel and can really grip the pooh out of the thumb rest and keep that muzzle flat. It's getting to the point where my dot barely moves, from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock a fraction.
  6. Yes. Julian told me about how they have been getting requests for this and this is a new process for their slides moving forward. They utilize a dual ball detent system. I'll admit it's a bit tight, but then I would rather have that this need a tool to break down the firearm.
  7. No, it is still pretty cold here and during the winter I mostly concentrate on dry fire practice. I hope to get out to an indoor range here in the next few days. Thank you for the compliments. I will do my best to get the forwarded to the folks at LimCat. Some credit has to go to my wife, who is really good with colors and such.
  8. I would check out Tuffy Products. I have their pistol drawer for my Jeep and I love it. Very well made. https://www.tuffyproducts.com However, I do not think you will find anything that is removable, but check out the options. You might find something that works for you as a compromise. For example, I think the security drawer that is in the trunk area might work for you.
  9. No, only the 2 that goes on mine and my wife's Limcat. That was a really nice touch that Johnny did, didn't he? I mean was impressed when I first saw that.
  10. Oh gosh no!! I never took it that way. We see a lot of these threads regarding THIS vs. THAT that gets heated, people always thinking they are right where others are wrong. Kinda silly really. Best just to stick to the facts and I wanted to keep things simple. By all means, ask away. I love sharing this information so that people can make informed decisions.
  11. I appreciate the kind words and you getting this thread back on subject. I get confused when people comment about caliber choice when it is a personal decision that is particular to each and every shooter and their OWN situation. There is no better or worse, only different aspects.
  12. Johnny put it best: 9mm major is cheaper but 38 Super Comp shoots better. Pretty simple comment. Thank you everyone for the comments. I just wanted to show what Johnny is capable of. He is a really great guy and employs good people. I am glad I finally was able to save up and afford something like this.
  13. This is the last shot, I promise. I have enjoyed working with my friends at Limcat Customs. They are a family run business. The owner, Johnny, left a highly profitable industry to follow his passion and it shows in his work. He and everyone working there are generous and supportive of the sport. I highly recommend any of their products, which I have personally seen them test and use in the field. They are easy to work with and if there are any problems, they will make them right. This sense of integrity is hard to find sometimes. Find it in abundance at Limcat Customs. Sincerely, Neil Gift
  14. Another option, going with the Turbo slide cuts. Not only are they cool, it improves performance. Please ask me how.
  15. More detail work and the opposing side view of this amazing piece of engineering.
  16. Here is Johnny's designed magwell. He described the steel here as "unbendable", which I will take his word for it. My friend Scott Greene has demonstrated how this magwell is self correcting, for those times when you insert the magazine in a hurry and it is not at the perfect angle.
  17. Looking over the top of the compensator, you will see a shiny portion deep inside. That contains an entry port, with a tunnel/channel that runs to the two holes on both sides leaving the compensator at an angle. My apologies that it is difficult to see but it is an amazing design.
  18. Here is a close up of Johnny's own compensator design. Here you can see evidence of 5 popple holes, but some of his has as many as 9. Here there are 3 on top and 2 out the sides. The holes closer to the end of the compensator will be discussed later but are a delayed port situation.
  19. Here you get a sense of the detail Johnny places into these works of art. The cerakoating is exquisite. I was allowed to chose my own color from Gunkote’s KG2400 Color Series, a preferred paint choice with Limcat. The folks at Limcat were gracious enough to allow me to position the thumb rest further forward if I so choose.
  20. Here you get a good look at the steel handle upgrade. This balances the Limcat really well, placing more weight to the back of the gun, giving it easier acquisition (for me) and improved recoil management. The magazine release is adjustable and has been positioned to my personal preference.
  21. They recently upgraded their slides to include a ball detent for removing the charging handle. They utilized a dual ball detent system which holds the handle in place very effectively. You will also notice that the trigger is more or less hollow. The sight mount is a bit more beefy than earlier versions. The Limcat Custom safety is right hand dominant and feels very comfortable. You will notice the thumb rest is well placed. A previous Limcat I was borrowing utilized the same thumb rest and several shooters commented on its perfect placement.
  22. Shooters, I just received yesterday my new Limcat Razorcat in 38 Super Comp. I went with all of the upgrades possible and wanted to share the photos/features with you. They worked very hard to get this masterpiece to me by Christmas and they did not disappoint. I want to say thank you to Johnny, Julian, Christian, James and Ben over at Limcat Customs who worked so hard. Even my friend James, who worked over the weekend to get this done. I was able to test fire it yesterday and am AMAZED at how flat it shoots. I am looking forward to using this gun all year and cannot be more grateful.
  23. I have the RF100 and after some minor adjustments, it works really well. Reloading 20k to 25k of rounds a year, I can deal with about 100 upside down primers. And understands Dillon customer service is second to none. Meanwhile, DAA has good products but they are cheaper and they are a bit flimsy sometimes. I have experience with the brass marker and that gave me a TON of problems. I had to try a bunch of different markers, cutting tips, etc. Sometimes the unit would simply stop working. Whenever I contact Saul about it, I get suggestions like in the video above but rarely do I get the "send it in and we will take care of it for you" like I get with Dillon. While I am happy with my RF100, I am curious when someone can provide an honest review and share their experience. I suspect that the people that are happy with it will not comment much and the people that have problems will louder and more often.
  24. Oh no!!!! Kyle, if you ever read this, I am sorry for your injury. Please let us know how things are and yes, we all want to see you recover 100%. Posvar, thank you so much for reaching out to him to see how he is doing. He seems like a really good guy.
