  1. O_oNot dealing with the loading gate on an 1100/1187 is reason enough to get something else. 500 rounds is a drop in the bucket. High mileage 1100s are high maintenance. What he said. My 1100 would do 600 between cleanings then it would fall on its face. I spent a lot of time modding the lifter button, never got it great, just slightly better and way more finicky. I have to call BS on that one. I have shot a Remington 1187 in the game of Skeet, competed nationally and have won many a shoot. This was all with the 11-87. I have put well over 10,000 rounds through it, and it still runs. Yes, I still have it and take it hunting a lot. Many have said its not the Bow or Arrow..... Its the indian.Oh for what its worth, I have a Benny Hill Versamax myself. Cheers Most things do there job when designed right, serviced and maintained correctly BS he says! Okay, yes it would run well over that many rounds if I was shooting bird shot from a nice standing position. Throw a bunch of different loads and alot of junkyard prone practice with your ejection port 3 inches off the dirt and 600 rounds is what you'll get out of it. My 1301 has yet to be confused by shooting the gun sideways on the ground.

  3. Lol. It takes me a good couple years after dropping $1000+ on a gun to start getting the power tools out.
  4. Fair enough. I'm one of those crazy caddie running weak hand loading fools so the twin loading issue most run into hasn't bothered me. I imagine the controls you don't like where the shell drop button and the safety placement. I was aware of and familiar with both before I got the gun so it wasn't a transition problem for me. And the fit you speak of was a selling point for me, shorter LOP stocks are kinda rare.
  5. This has been a fun and informative threadjack hercster... now back on topic before I get yelled at. Mark, what are your thoughts on the 1301? It hasn't received a lot of attention from the pros yet, don't know if there's a big flaw i haven't found on mine or if they're just new enough to not be popular.
  6. No love for the Benelli's Mark? Enlighten us! Your a VM guy if I remember correctly.
  7. I don't believe you Mark. How about you send me one free and change my mind so I can tell everybody on here that you where right all along.
  8. When is JP gonna come out with an adjustable unit that fits in all the small diameter handguards I'm so fond of? I think they sell the syrac GB but I've heard enough bad about them to keep me away.
  9. It's that kind of attitude that makes me happy every time I see the m&p9/mossberg 930 guys whoop on the sti/benelli guys at a lot of matches I've been to. It doesn't happen every time but it does happen. Experience and practice beats equipment and brand names every time. You're right, and I owned an M&P40 that put down some hurt on an awful lot of fancy 2011s, but the Infinity sure is a lot easier to shoot. Prettier too. And that leads us back to why Benelli; because it's the best, and you can get beaten by someone shooting a different shotgun, but it ain't gonna be the shotgun's fault. Fair enough, my fnx has put a few high dollar guns or at least their owners to shame but for the reasons you stated I'm in the market for a higher end CZ for my competition gun. I don't have a problem with nice or high dollar guns, usually it's the people holding them that bother me.
  10. That's a fine unit right there, I love any firearms that are old and swiss. I spawned a whole new generation of swiss gun lovers by letting everyone I know shoot my Schmidt Rubins. Does your new p210 have the new style mag release or the old heel latch? And don't those have something like a 2" at 50yds guarantee?

  12. I'm getting all hot and bothered just thinking about the Sig p210. If I had a need for a single stack 9mm and some disposable income burning up my pocket I would have to give in to my lust and buy one.
  13. Mine isn't even a little portable, like 200lbs of stuck in the ground non portable. And the first thing I learned about using wood in my home brewed target systems is that you may not miss, but if you have a high traffic backyard range like I do, you'll swear everyone else is aiming for the wood. That and jacket/lead fragments chew faster than rabid beavers on ecstacy.
  14. survey says,......... "they cant shoot"! Damn right. And apart from that, their opinions are straight up wrong. The only reason not to get an M2 is if you get a deal on an M1. Boy you benelli people are just plain mean! Maybe that's why I don't own one. The OP wanted a lightweight and low recoil gun. Good luck with that! Those two attributes seem to be mutually exclusive. I've shot plenty of 7ish pound SBE-2's, Cordoba's, an M2, an Extrema and a couple thousand rounds out of my 1301 and all have been considerably more snappy than the 9lb Rem 1100 I was running previously. So what? I'm way quicker on a plate rack with any of those harder recoiling guns than the 1100. I'm not quite sure why but the timer doesn't lie.
  15. I need to know more! I built my own for about $250 but for that price I might have saved myself the building and trial and error time.
  16. As far as 45 degree sights go it seems dueck defense would be it. Otherwise any flip ups will work on an offset rail, and I may be wrong but I think the Warne ramp scope mount has an offset rail that's on the correct sighting plane to work with standard height irons. And JP has a both sights in one unit that mounts on the handguard.
  17. I drilled two holes in the miculek that came on my rifle, for one of the least cool and cheapest brakes on the market it does a good job of keeping up with any other brake I've been able to mess with. I'm therefore skeptical of any of the new "best brake ever!" units. I'm glad there's enough interest in our sport to keep new and improved products coming but I think the muzzle brake horse was beaten dead awhile ago. That said, if the carbon arms gas hog works as good as anything else but with less concussion in a small light package, call me excited.
  18. Excellent, that's what I figured on buying when I get around to purchasing this scope.
  19. Are you running a throw lever on yours? I imagine the MGM universal would work, don't know if there's any other options though.
  20. Hmm.... for some reason my phone won't let me past the home page. The previous website always worked fine though.
  21. I'm faster inside of 50yds with a red dot but I consider the longe range advantage of a 1-4 worth the tradeoff. My opinion might be a bit skewed by the fact that my budget limits me to one competition rifle so I need it to be versatile as possible and I hate switching out optics. My last match had a clay at 5yds that I could've shot faster with irons but then a 8" plate in a bush at 100yds and a 10" plate at 300yds from an awkward position where I more than made up for any close range slowness. I guess I just want my rifle to be able to do anything without my weak right eye holding it back.
  22. Anyone other than Airborne101 on here running the optisan cx6? It's on my to-buy list but it looks like I might be the ginuea pig on here when I finally get it.
  23. I believe you, my swiss K31 will shoot under 3/4 with properly colored/sized targets when the lighting is right and I haven't drank any coffee that day. But when I'm in a hurry in a 3g match and it's a dirty gray 4" steel target against a dirt berm in low light I'm going to be brutally emasculated.
  24. +1 on the CMC straight trigger, it might just be my stubby fingers but I seem to have better and more consistent finger placement with it than any curved units. And mine came with fancy new screw secured trigger pins instead of the pita to install C-clip pins they used to have.
  25. Trubl, when are these fancy new adjustable buffer systems gonna show up on the website?
