  1. My latest preference is for 115gr JHP with an 8lb spring, but I think it's really down to the way you grip the gun and how you like the dot to move. AKA personal preference.
  2. FYI after 3 months shooting with the Romeo 3 (RTS2) I have gone back to the Slideride. in a couple of matches (including Area 2) I had to shoot a white popper in extremely bright sunlight. The dot simply was not bright enough to cope with the conditions. The DPP is a better option than the Romeo/RTS as the dot is about the same brightness as the Slideride. However my DPP is being fixed under warranty right now .... An additional consideration that pushed me back to the Slideride is the larger window during extreme leans. I MUCH prefer the LOOK of the mini sights btw ...
  3. No. But use blue loctite on the 3 screws.
  4. There is nothing at all wrong with a 1.2 draw, except if you want to get GM classifier times. In a stage, especially while you are moving, it is more than decent.
  5. 2 seconds at an intermediate distance target
  6. Great gun. Add a CZC magwell, a better thumb rest and racker, and whatever recoil spring you like like and its even better. You see used but as new guns for around $2600.
  7. So far CZ USA have been very efficient. After a quick phone call I emailed them a purchase receipt for the Czechmate, which I bought 2 years ago, (plus a picture of the frame crack, although that was not required) and 2 business days later they issued an RMA and pre paid Fedex return label. So far, so good!

    New Czechmate

I tested the RMR 124 JHP in my reamed barrel vs PD, MG and EG RMR has the “worst” profile for making long OAL as they are less pointed than the others. This may make them more accurate of course as they have about 15 thousandths more of the bullet in contact with the rifling. Anyway, with my throated barrel I was able to load them to 1.168, about .010 less than the PD (although much more will be too long for the mags). I ended up going with the PDs as I thought the more pointed profile gave me more of a safety cushion for getting longer OAL. I also compared the bullets for weight and length consistency. And price of course.
  9. Is everyone using the factory screws?
  10. My DPP loses its elevation zero over as few as 15 rounds, resulting in a 6” string of shots at 15 yards. Has anyone else experienced this? The mount (CZ Custom) and mounting screws (aftermarket) all seem fine and have loctite on them. Thanks
  11. What does Ron Avery say about rotating the elbows?
  12. I was definitely "interested" to see if dust was going to be an issue with the oil as the ranges I shoot at are all dusty gravel. I think if you didn't clean any dropped mags immediately, it would be a problem waiting to happen. But Grams seems to know what he is talking about
  13. One of Grams recommendations is to wipe inside the 170s using a medium weight oil. I do this before a match using a few drops of red transmission oil on a cleaning pach. When the mag hits the ground in the match, I brush it out but don't apply new oil. I do this with 170s and 140s and it works.
  14. I only sent the 170s. The 140s worked fine stock and when upgraded with Grams followers/springs and CZC extensions.
  15. Sidewinder racker, czc big magwell, Grams 170 mag tuning, czc extensions for 140 and 170 mags, IPSC Alex thumb rest Thats it. More like $200 ..
  16. The problem with a metronome is that even if it does 300 bpm, that's "only" .2 splits I have a metronome - it's good for transition timing, not so much for splits ...
  17. I don’t remember seeing one in any of the matches out here on the West Coast
  18. I shot my tweaked Czechmate back to back with a Limcat Razorcat. I could not tell the difference in recoil/dot bounce. The ergonomics were of course quite different.
