  1. Have a great B'day John.
  2. I just want to thank everyone who came and shot the match. Thank you all for coming. I have been in the sport long enough now that a big part of what I look forward to is seeing all my friends that I don't get to see other than at big matches. What a great sport with great people. Plus, I never seem to fail at making new friends at every match I go to as well. To all of the RO's that helped I can't thank you enough. Really. I have heard nothing but good comments about how nice, and professional you all were. A huge thanks to Lynn Jones and Bill Grewe for building the most beautiful stage (and most challenging) of the match, Stage 1. You both helped in more ways than I can count. Another huge thanks to my other partners in crime Brad Griffin and Elizabeth Peeler. What incredible jobs you both did! Thanks for making me look like I knew what the heck I was doing. And lastly but far from least, thanks to all the members at NTPS for coming out to help build stages, design stages etc.... There were many weekends and weekday evenings we were there putting screws in walls until we couldn't see from lack of sunlight.
  3. The award policy was right there on the front page of the TN Section Championship for everyone to read. 10 is not an unreasonable amount for recognition IMO. I for one, lobbied very hard on many different forums to get over the 10 in SS so it could be recognized. Unfortunately we didn't get there. Also, anyone is free to change divisions right until the last second if this is/was important to them. Most folks shoot to shoot, and if an award or a prize is won, all the better. But that is not why most of us shoot. John would have been more than welcome to join the other 6 GM shooters in Limited if he so chose. So, I guess you are suggesting that if two enter we should give an award to the winner? If not what number is more appropriate? 5??? 8??? Maybe you are suggesting not a plaque or a trip to the prize table, but Just a mention at the ceremony? If that is the case, then I agree with you and if I had thought of it I would have announced John's name as SS winner. But to say that I was on system overload at the time, would be the understatement of the year. this is the problem with writing when you are not gifted at it. you can not hear the passion in my words nor the smile on my face. I tried to make it clear in my post : and yes I was suggesting anything as Look, I have ran events of a different nature but no less chaotic, I think this was a great event and the hosts as well as the RO's , OUTSTANDING! and although I have only been shooting 18 months and have only been to 6 events this one was one of the best (but overall I cannot say I have been disappointed by any of them ) but the weather and speed of the event along with the stage design make this one a top contender in my books. At the end of the day its about the competition, how much faster did I need to go to win, how much straighter will the other competitor be, can I stay ahead of the pack or can I catch up? sure some come to shoot and have fun doing it but most are there to see how the fair against their peers, and although you can walk away knowing you won even if its not stated, its not quite the same as battling it out and when the smoke clears everyone knows you are the victor. If the is how the USPSA does it, so be it. I will still play the game, I am sure it was not meant not to be mentioned, please do not take it that way. But since it was not and I did not understand how it all worked, I wanted to mention it on a public forum to bring out the competition I was watching between two warriors for 1st single stack. For the record my name is Gerwin, I do not shoot single stack...yet, but after watching these two and watching the way they have to shoot, move and load and the thought to break down a stage to get those times...impressive. One day after I figure how to think and shoot with 19 bullets I will give this a try. To be honest I am watching for one of those 40 cal Trojans to pop up in the classifieds as we speak Again hats of to everyone and hopefully I will be welcomed back Still Learning, Gerwin You are and will always be welcomed back. I'm a big boy wearing big boy pants. FWIW, there is not one way that folks run USPSA matches. Some do trophy only. Some do trophy with something other than the 3, 5, 7 rule. Some do trophy with a random drawing for the prize table, some do cash payback only etc........The list of different methods are long, and none make everyone happy. But this is how TN has done since I have been in the sport and I think it is fair, but I do wish I would have announced the SS winner.

  5. All scores are posted on the USPSA website under majors match results. Thanks for shooting the match. All the great folks that came to shoot the match made all the hard work worth it. Thanks again.
  6. Stages are done for the most part. A few odds and ends to wrap up and we are rockin'.
  7. That is our boy Champ. We love to take him for quail around here and ruffed grouse when we go back to PA. I'm getting excited for this year's season already.
  8. It looks like open and limited scores will count as a classifier. 4 gm's in limited and 3 in open so far.
  9. Now a table start I look at the gun and then snap my eyes to the target.
  10. Bad habbit. Pick out a spot on the target and burn a hole there with your eyes and bring your gun to your head/eyes.
  11. We need just one more SS to get the division recognized. C'mon just one more!!!! The match is filling up nicely and I started on some props last night. We will be at the range all weekend getting ready.
  12. Hey everyone, If you are going to get a room at the match hotel you need to go ahead and do it. He will be releasing the held rooms this Friday to the general public. After that you can still get the reduced rate but there is a chance that the rooms will be gone. Thanks, Tim
  13. C class sellers better than GM sellers??? I guess it depends on the product. I think someone like Rudy will be well served with a C class shooter or whatever. We all have eyes and we all know if the glasses are sturdy and the lenses are great, and I or anyone else would give a C shooters opinion as much weight as a GM. However when it comes to gun builders and or some equipment, you can't expect a C or even a B class shooter to see what a GM does and therefore I believe a manufacture like that should think twice about sponsoring a shooter of that skill level.
  14. Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Now I just need to keep him in 38S brass.
  15. Well, I asked a couple of big named shooter what I should start him in and they both said open. They explained that a kid his age or even a man with girl like strength and hands should shoot open. Luv ya Randal
  16. He is ten and will turn eleven in Feb. He shot his airsoft at matches for about a year learning all the safety rules etc. I made him a deal that if he shot 8 monthly matches without a single safety issue I would buy him an open gun. Well, dang if he didn't do it. He is very excited and is dryfiring most everyday without me saying a word to him. No doubt he will be kicking my butt someday soon (I hope).
  17. Awesome!!! Thanks guys. Keep those apps coming, the match is shaping up nicely. Some real talent showing up for sure.
  18. Still need a couple more RO's.................give me a hollar if you can help.
  19. The TN sectional was my second USPSA match. I shot one club match and then dove right into a sectional. It was awesome!
  20. It's gonna be a fun one. BTW, the diagram on stage 2 does not do this stage justice at all. It acutally might turn out to be my favorite stage of the match when all is said and done. The woods walk is going to be a real run n' gun stage again. Probably no mover this time, but with a couple twists for sure. Hope you all can make it.
  21. I have not posted the woods walk stage yet. I'll post it soon. Tim
  22. Match Hotel info: The match hotel will be the Hampton INN in Dickson TN. Hampton INN 1080 E Christi Road Dickson, TN 37055 (615) 446-1088 Rate is $79 per night and is walking distance from many places to eat. When booking the room tell them it is for the "TN State Match" to get this rate. Also registation will be here from 7-9pm the 24th. Interim results will be posted at the match hotel Sat night as well. Also, there is an Econo lodge that is right across the street from the Hampton, and would be a less expensive alternative if you prefer.
