  1. Hey all, I'm having an issue with Zero 147gr JHP's in my SP01 mags and was wondering if anyone has seen this before and how they fixed it. When I load more than 12 rounds in a mag, as I shoot, the last round will get stuck in the mag catch slot. This stops the follower and I've got essentially 5 loose rounds in the mag until I unjam it. This is my first batch of reloading these bullets and I load out to 1.15. I've loaded bayou 147's to 1.15 with no issue. Bayou 124 and MG 124 JHP also have no issue. I've tried this in 2 of the mecgar mags I have and they didn't see the same issue. I'm definitely going to try and shorten the OAL but don't want to push it too much. I use titegroup for my powder and am a little worried aboout pressure spikes. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
  2. Yeah..tanfo stock 2 out here go for 1500 to 1600 used. What a joke.
  3. Awesome thanks! Maybe I'll shoot an email to Stuart to see what it would take to get that done..so tempting.
  4. Sorry to dig up this thread but it seemed most fitting. What would it take to make a pseudo CTS LS P for someone who lives in California? 75b shadow lower and TS upper sent to cz custom? I know it's technically not uspsa legal but it looks like a fun gun to run just at local matches. Thanks!

    Mixing Grips

I'm a righty and do the Lok roughneck palm swell on the right side to fill my hand and then a DAA thick aluminum on the left. I've coated the DAA with silicone carbide as well. I find the flatness of the DAA is better for the support side as I get more contact of my palm on the grip. With the palm swell on the left, most of the contact was on the upper bump leaving a little gap on my hand above the swell. It took many many pairs of grips but I finally got a combo that feels thick enough and has enough weak hand contact. Makes weight too! Hit me up if you want a left side Lok palm swell. I have 2 roughnecks and a boogie haha
  6. I think it's just surprising that a 2 inch difference at 25 yards is now allowing you beat out competiton. Not saying it's not possible or that there aren't other mental benefits. Just interesting since at even closer distances, the difference in accuracy would be less and less. In the end who cares. If you're better today than you were yesterday, that's the only thing that matters.
  7. This stuff definitely fills the case. I'm using 4.1gr right now and it's slightly a compressed load. I use this powder to teach others on the press since there's no way to double charge.
  8. I'm just about finished with 8lbs of red dot under 124gr bayou flat points. They're my practice load and have that very distinct smell when you shoot them. How does red dot meter for you? I found it fairly inconsistent so I relegated to practice loads only.
  9. Any word on who's going to be selling those 10 lb springs?
  10. Thanks for the replies. For those who start at low ready, do you still use a timer?
  11. At my local indoor range here in California we are not allowed to holster a gun or shoot more than 1 round per second. Could Ben's dot drill work with the same times if I did a loaded gun on table start? I'm not sure how much difference in first shot times these starts yield but the drill would allow me to complete it and not get yelled at for shooting too fast at the range
  12. 1. We're coming out with a 10# spring for the CZ crowd. 2. Use the CZC firing pin, and you'll stop getting lite strikes w the 8.5#. Also, you need to really, really polish your internals, hammer strut, etc. Even polish the inside of the spring. Awesome! Any date on when they'd come out? (I literally just ordered 2 more 11.5 lb springs and the cgw extended firing pin yesterday haha) I currently have the CZC firing in my gun since it came with the Accushadow. Not sure how much polishing is done from the factory but I would think they would do some polishing. For now I'll probably libe with the 11 lb spring for good measure.
  13. I had 2 light strikes with federal primers this past weekend with the 8.5 lb spring. Is there an ideal combo with CZC vs cgw firing pin and a reduced firing pin spring from cgw? +1 on the 10 lb spring. Would cutting coils on a 11.5 lb spring do anything? Sorry not too familiar with the mechanics of springs.
  14. Right now I'm using titegroup. I have some n320 I could try but I use that mostly for .40 s&w
  15. Thanks for the info! I'd probably only shoot the jhps at bigger matches. Local club matches I would stick with moly. I'm not 100% sure why but with shipping, the bayou 124s are only .005 cents cheaper than than 147gr. For me that's pretty minimal since I'm shooting probably around 10 to 15k a year. I currently use the 11lb recoil spring in my shadow and haven't changed it in the last 6k rounds. Is there a different weight that others prefer?
  16. Was moving over from 124gr moly and jacketed to 147gr for the recoil impulse. I was thinking of using jhps for big matches. Anyone have good experience with any manufacturers ar a short OAL? Zero, Precision Delta, MG? I've used 124gr MG jhp with success. For reference, I load 124gf bayou flat point to 1.085. My 147gf bayous go out to 1.15. These are in both of my accushadows. Thanks!
  17. I hope this isn't too off topic, but is "acceptable accuracy" for all of you? I've heard 2" at 25 yards standing with no support but that seems impossible for me. Could be my bad eyes or bad ligthing at my in door range but the best I can do is a 4 inch group with my accushadow resting it off my gear bag. For reference, I used a 124 gr MG jhp under 4.1 gr of tite group at 1.085 oal.
  18. I swapped slides and everything fine. Hoping to get to the range today and see what happens.
  19. I didn't like them compared to my current grips which are the Lok grips with the rough neck pattern. I think I've spent over 400 just trying out different grips and with my hand size and grip technique, the Lok ones seem to fit the best. I also prefer grips that will pretty much grate the palm of my hand just to create enough friction. The extra little bumps on the Scales 2.0 are pretty sharp. I'm sure they would be plenty grippy for most people.
  20. I just got the scales 2.0. Put them on but they didn't quite fit my hand right. The extra grip they put on them I could see helping a lot if it fit your hand well. Oh well..off to the classifieds section they go. I think they are definitely worth a try though, they are really well made.
  21. I currently have 2 Accushadows for production and was wondering if swapping slides between frames would cause any issues or changes in accuracy? I ask because my main accushadow has a lower trigger pull weight than my back up (both have same springs). However, my back up is more accurate. Every time I've sighted both guns in with new loads or before matches, my back up is always a tighter group. My thought was to take the slide from my back up and put it on the frame of my main gun to have the best of both worlds. Anyone see any down side to this? I know swapping is fairly common with these platforms but I wasn't sure if there was anything specific fitting done by cz custom that would make this not an ideal move. Thanks for the input!
  22. Yeah I religiously clean after every match or range session. Still interested to see why one accu is noticeably more accurate than the other. Sorry to kind of thread jack. My trigger return spring broke after only 3000 and a ton of dry firing. The main pin on my rear HAJO sight broke at 4500 which sucks. Having a smith drill it out an fit a new pin since I can't get part of the old one out. Asked Stuart and he said to send the whole sight back but I don't have the tools to install a new one.
  23. I sent the slide to CZC and they fit the barrel for me. But it's evidently not that difficult to do. How many rounds to you have through the barrel? I suspect that lifetime depends on bullet and powder selection. I only have about 7k through it and have been shooting mostly bayou moly coated bullets with titegroup. I also have another accushadow that is more accurate than this one is. I've shot groups at 25 yards off a bag and have always seen this one shadow have wider groups. Thoughts?
  24. Did a new barrel have to be fitted by CZC? I'm noticing a drop in accuracy in mine but still can't believe it would be the barrel.
  25. DSPerman 19-20 grips. 2011 feel and light enough to make weight. Bit pricy and you have to fit them to your frame but worth it.
