  1. I'm planning to build a .40 slide for my new Sti 9mm 1911 and going to hard chrome the frame first. I figure the frame will get its fair share of use. Also I live in CA so getting good starting parts is a pain since sse1 went away.
  2. Yeah I had it the entire 5k rounds. Came installed from czc when I bought the accushadow.
  3. Hello all, Like others, my HAJO sight pin broke the other day (Round count is 5k only). It completely sheared off at the point where the two pieces are assembled together. I tried punching out the piece on the left that was still stuck but it didn't budge. I don't have access to a drill press so I was wondering if anyone had suggestions beyond taking it to a gunsmith or sending it back to CZ. I did buy a spare pin but not sure it will even work if the current pin has to be drilled out. Is this typical of all adjustable sights? I like the idea of a fixed rear but I'm still trying a bunch of different loads for this gun. Thanks!
  4. I'm using Bayou Bullets at 1.15 OAL and 3.2gr of TG. (For OAL reference I also use their 124gr TCG at 1.08 OAL. Both loads I did the bullet push/plunk method or whatever they call it and gave my self a .015 buffer.) 3.0 gr gave me a 128.2 PF 3.2 gr gave me a 135.3 PF Temp during time of chronographing was 82. I shoot for somewhere between 3.1 and 3.2.
  5. I believe the 97b comes with a bushing stock. Edit: actually nvm
  6. Thanks for the input! Sounds like getting the frame hard chromed would be ideal. Once funds allow, I'd probably have all of that done at the same time.
  7. Hello, I recently acquired an STI Sentry in 9mm and wanted to have a .40 top end built for it. I had a few questions concerning the build and wad hoping for some input. As a background, I live in California so buying a complete gun is not really an option except for a fully custom gun which would run about 3500 and some legal loopholes. There are literally no .40 1911s I can buy off the shelf. The closest I can get is a colt or kimber in 10mm and rebarreled. If I were to make a new top end, is there anything I could do to prolong the life of the frame? I believe the Sentry has a forged frame. I was thinking something along the lines of a coating or if there was any other recommendation on this topic. Thanks!
  8. I tried it out for a few matches in production and single stack. I liked the idea but found that I would miss the 3rd or 4th mag sometimes and essentially have to grab again for the mag. This would happen mostly on reloads where I was aggressively moving. Anyone else have this issue when starting? Having my hand run into a mag and grabbing has been more consistent for me with bullets forward. Probably just a practice thing but I ended up switching back.

    P227 holsters

P226 holsters will work. I used a Comptac holster for both my P227 and P226.
  10. You would at least need a Shadow slide for the above comment to work
  11. Is the sp01 trigger the same as the recurve trigger on the czc site?
  12. Hey all, Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. As for barrel length, I'm a bit confused..My CZ Shadow has a 4.7 inch barrel and the beretta a 4.9..but honestly I didn't take out a ruler and measure. I was going off of factory specificiations. Thanks!
  13. Hello all, I'm new to hand loading so please bear with me. I loaded several rounds this past weekend and chrono'd them both in my CZ Shadow and my dad's Beretta 92. I was expecting the velocity to be higher out of the Beretta due to the longer barrel length (4.7 vs 4.9) but found the opposite. For the Loads I tested, it seemed about 20 to 25 fps lower in the Beretta across the board. Can someone help explain? I'm thinking barrel design maybe? Here's some of the data on the loads I compared: Remington 115g factory MG 124 CMJ - 4.7gr unique MG 124 CMJ - 4.2gr Titegroup 1.125 oal Each round was measured as exact as my digital scale reads (.02 gr resolution). Testing conditions were 75 degrees and overcast using a Ced M2 Thanks for the help!
  14. Match barrel won't make any difference! I really hope that statement is true since I just bought my Accu-Shadow and they released that option after..Damn! I totally would have dropped the extra money for it. If money wasn't an option and you would honestly still buy a Shadow Custom instead of an Accu-Shadow with match fit barrel, then more power to you. At least you still went with a CZ
  15. I think I'm in the same boat with Feralshooter. Since the HAJO requires a 7.5 height, given the listed options, you can only get the same height sight with a larger FO (1.5). I'd be very interested in a 1mm FO, 7.5 high x .100 wide Thanks for the support Stuart!
  16. I' m having a bit of the same problem with my accu shadow but have not had much time to try some of the suggestions offered. what do you all use to polish these areas?
  17. Yup JAFO pretty much hit the nail on the head. If it works for you then run with it! I've started with a 226 Elite in 9mm and feel like it's been a good gun for me to start with. For a beginner to guns and the sport, a sig simply just works and I don't have to worry about some of the delicate aspects that nicer guns have to worry about. I've never had a FTF,FTE in over 1500 rounds or any malfunction for that matter. (I shoot production btw) Having shot glocks and CZ, i will say the higher bore axis does make it seem like youre waiting for the muzzle to drop more than the other guns..but I've seen some pretty good people run insanely fast with them so I can't really complain until I'm at that level.
  18. Just shot mine for the first time yesterday. Absolutely amazing. The included paper says the DA/SA was 8/3.8. i tested it at about 7.8/3.2 If this is your first CZ, I'd say save up the money and get it. You won't be disappointed. If you're a seasoned cz shadow vet, it may not blow your mind for the price you pay. i'm not a cz shadow vet so this thing is bad ass!
  19. That's weird. I literally joined yesterday and had no issue. I tried joining a sig forum but had this issue of not being accepted.
  20. Forgive me if I'm missing the mark as I only started into this game a few months ago..but aren't we forgetting that this competition is just a competition against ourselves? There's no interaction with any other participants so we are merely trying to better ourselves within the rules and guidlines of the game. If the rules say you can use an Accu-Shadow and you feel that using one can better yourself, the why not use it? If you think the rules are terrible and inconsistent, then why play the game or why not go play a different game? Just like any sport or game, we're willingly subjecting ourselves to rules/guidlines set by a governing body. If you don't like them, nothing is keeping you from leaving.
  21. I suppose CZ Custom is technically a retailer at this point. Not sure how their deal is worked out but CZ USA could technically set a MAP price on Accu Shadows that CZ Custom would have to follow (although in this case they are selling a bit higher). A bit unfortunate but I'm sure I'll forget about it when it arrives
  22. 1455.38 compared to Czcustom 1665? Ouch...maybe I should have waited to order.
