  1. The best time to plant a tree was 100 years ago, the second best time is now.
  2. I am trying to get more competitive and primarily shoot USPSA Production and some 3 gun. Currently dry firing several times a week and live firing, on average, weekly. Training schedule should firm up once this summer's craziness dies down. Purchasing a suppressor to enable practice on my home property. It is completely legal and safe for me to shoot on my property but the noise would upset the wife, dogs and neighbors. A suppressor would enable me to live fire multiple times weekly and take away a significant barrier to practice. Currently I am looking at a 9mm can and would be using this on my production pistol(or a similarity setup suppressor ready gun) and my 9mm AR. The down sides that I see are: -cost -lack of noise -reduction of recoil -potential decrease in accuracy when using can -life span of suppressor Looking for thoughts, opinions and suggestions.
  3. I put the full CGW kit in a tristar C-100. Same size as a CZ compact with an aluminum frame, uses compact size mags. Worked over trigger is decent, certainly good enough for concealed carry use. Cheap gun but does the job.
  4. Shove the magazine up and forward with a good amount of force. Should do the trick.
  5. Most handguns I've used will do this if you slap the mag in with a little bit of a forward bias. Not sure if there is a way to prevent it.
  6. Best 3 of 7 does give you a lot of wiggle room. However, at area 1 a large number of shooters saw a 5-10 PF drop. So having some extra may not be a bad idea.
  7. The proposed rules do not have a barrel length requirement.
  8. Ben Stoeger was talking about making a "battle BOSS" retention holster for 3 gun/face shooting. Anybody heard anything more on that?
  9. If applicable you could put the safety on rather than decock for hot reholstering.
  10. You are correct. The gun being in a safe position or start condition is only required before the beep. After that as long as your finger is out of the trigger guard(unless shooting) the gun can be in any condition you want.
  11. I've had .357 sig set back a lot easier than other calibers. Minor malfunctions and such.
  12. Ordered. Looks like the start of something
  13. 85 combat has a lighter slide than the 75b. Comes with adjustable sights, ambi slide stop and a better trigger due to no firing pin block. For games the 85 combat has the potential to have as good a trigger as any shadow but the beaver tail is lower and it has less weight out front. I bought one and sold it to a buddy and should have kept it as a backup or carry gun.
  14. So if I have a 9mm buffer and a rifle tube+spring what do I need to do?
  15. Isn't the division available for use now? I thought it was once the draft appendix was published. If that's the case then you are correct. My earlier comments about rules were premised on no changes other then the appendix. Those are the proposed provisional rules. They were put out for comment only. I would guess if PCC becomes a provisional division an actual appendix will be provided and a few additional rules will be added.
  16. I use the 16's and 17's. My 18's are all retired. The 17's seem to have a nicer finish so if I were to do it all over again I would probably just get the 17's.
