  1. They do not offer 9mm on their gun builder anymore but if you have been shooting a 9mm SVI open gun, I believe that they will build you another one. That is my understanding of it. You do have to call them and have a conversation about it.
  2. That’s awesome! I can’t wait to see it. I hope SPSA has their match on the 4th Sat since they canceled today. I ordered mine in December as well but it was not blued. I had mine built with the pvd finish. Maybe that’s why it is taking a little longer.
  3. If mine is ready in February it will be 14 months. I’m expecting March though. What are you shooting now? I thought it was an SVI in 38. I know it’s loud!
  4. You shoot those out of your Hipoint?
  5. I’ve used cci, Winchester, S&B, and just bought 12k Fiocci primers . I’ve used pistol and rifle primers and I can’t tell the difference between any of them
  6. I have no doubt but they wanted FFL info for shipping and I wasn’t sure where I would be. It looks like I will still be a NC resident so I’ll get them a FFL here.
  7. Probably not as many as you would think. I think they only have 3 or 4 builders but that’s just a guess based on what I’ve heard. I used to think it was crazy too until I shot one. I know that it will not make me a better shooter but it is definitely a better shooting gun. I’m shooting a ck right now and it is a very good shooting gun but not in the same class as far as fit and finish. The SVI just feels sooo good in my hands too. I’m excited to get it .
  8. I received an email back from them today and they said February or March so you are on the money!
  9. I have a question for the folks who have ordered from SVI. How long did it take for your pistol to be completed once you got the email from SVI that “your gun is coming along nicely but will be a few more months”? i received that email yesterday but I will be moving to a different state at some point around May or June. I hope it comes while I’m still a resident of N.C. but I don’t think there will be a problem if I’m in S.C. by the time it’s ready to ship. Thanks
  10. Back when I used to practice, I used loaded mags. For the longest time I was practicing static reloads. I finally took my practice outside and started practicing doing the reloads within the first step when moving. I need to get back to practicing because I have seen a tremendous drop in reload performance
  11. They have stopped offering them for sale. Apparently they were getting a lot of them back with supposed warranty issues but it was in fact bad reloads causing the issues. They grew tired of it and I think they were worried about their reputation. That was the story I heard anyway. i am shooting a CK in 9mm right now and it is a great gun but I think if I had ordered from anyone but SVI, I would have gone with 38SC. I just happened to get a good deal on the CK used.
  12. They were similar in build and PF but not exact of course. I think SVI puts 3 popples in the 38 and 2 in the 9mm or maybe I’m backwards on that. Barrel length was the same but the 9mm had little squirrels all over it and they were different colors. I think they were as close to the same as they could be considering that SVI builds a 38 differently than a 9mm. The point is that they felt almost identical when shooting them.
  13. I had this same question before I ordered mine but I was lucky enough to shoot on a squad with a guy that had a new 9mm SVI and a guy who had a new 38 SC SVI. I could tell a difference between the 2 guns but no difference in how flat they shot. The difference was more in the recoil impulse but I had no real preference towards either one. Since I am getting ready to roll into my 50’s and have already had 2 back surgeries, I went with the SVI in 9mm. If not for the back, I would most probably have ordered it in 38SC. Hopefully it will be here by March of 19!
  14. How long have you guys waited to get your SVI open gun. I ordered mine in December and was told 12 to 15 months. Has that been on par with actual wait times? Thanks
  15. I have had some seriously fast draws on a few stages and they were some of my worst stages ever. I had one draw that was .28 to an alpha. I threw 4 mikes on the stage. I need a second to get a good grip and shoot a good stage.
  16. Going to see my Grandson next Saturday and I am looking for a match on March 3rd or 4th. There is a match on Fort Campbell on the 3rd but I know nothing about it. Willing to travel an hour or 2 if need to. Thanks
  17. I have a pair of the Altra Superior’s but have been considering the Lone Peak’s
  18. I’ve changed my mind after seeing this from Troy back in 2011. No such thing as a roaming 180, and if some state match or other called it that, they were wrong. The 180 can be shifted to be parallel to the back of the course of fire, especially if the stage is set into the corner and designed to be shot "diagonally", but just because you have a corner there doesn't mean it moves. The way that stage is laid out, the 180 is parallel to the backstop. Troy
  19. Thanks for the replies. I’m taking it that it is legal to have a floating 180
  20. This is what I was wondering. My first instinct was to say that would be against the rules but there really is no wording that says the backstop cannot change which would mean that the 180 plane could change. I would think that the definition of uprange would prevent this.
