  1. I started off using the AP 4-Shell caddies and the 4X4 for weak hand reloading. I recently transitioned to the TACCOM for strong hand loading.
  2. I use "Glooocks" and 1911's in competitions, and carry both (not at the same time . I agree Glocks are not pretty, but they work well for me in events and the important thing is I know they go bang.
  3. I use Wilderness Tactical for IDPA, and a DAA for everything else.
  4. Cool, I think this weekend may be a SS Colt type of weekend...USPSA match Saturday and a IDPA Sunday. Thanks
  5. I am attending my 3rd USPSA match this coming weekend, shooting in Production/Limited 10 using a Glock 17. Does anyone ever shoot SS .45 competitively in USPSA?
  6. If in doubt, check out the Wolf calibration spring sets...I've used them to tune my 1911 gov't and loads I use. Big help.
  7. I enjoy and shoot .45 in a 1911 for IDPA.
  8. I recently had to get reading glasses. In the process I went to my eye doctor and got prescription contacts. I am right handed, and right eye dominant. So he setup the right eye for up close, and the left setup for distance and 20/15. This works well to see the front sight, but I hate contacts. I am not sure I am ready to plunk down bucks for prescription lens.
  9. To add to the comment above...I use several types of pistols in competitions. I practice just prior to a match with the pistol I will use. Do you find it hard to transition from one pistol platform to another and do you switch up your practices?
  10. I dry fire (pistol including draws) prior to matches, but I also practice for shotgun and rifle especially practicing shotgun reloading. I know I should be doing more.
  11. Welcome, I also like Rush and the band too.
  12. I have (2) 4-UP Shell holders and (2) 8-UP QUALOAD SHELL. I like them.
  13. links for the loaders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_iosZANkeM http://www.taccom3g.com/QUALOAD_SHELL_HOLDERS.html
  14. You need to check out the Dallas Pistol Club and those events (all pistol and Rim fire only matches), very fun but a drive for you. The shotgun is a loading game. You have to be a proficient loader to compete well using a shotgun. I recently switched to the TACCOM loaders from using the AP style "weak" hand loading, using both this is the way to go. I bought mine off this site used.
  15. ...and North Texas Multi-Gun. The host Steel and 3G events. Next one is Jan 4th.
  16. Welcome....Have you checked out the Dallas Action Pistol or DAPS events, and matches at the Dallas Pistol Club?
