  1. sorry double post. Also for the most part, the guys shooting PCC have been existing members like the rest of us
  2. I don't think anyone's asking for anything special or to be changed. Just a lot of crying over nothing. If we get rid of the ability to use slings then case closed. Well sort of, then we'll have to address the guns being transported in carts "sweeping" people too.... If only we had a piece of kydex covering the trigger that magically made it safe....
  3. While we're doing this, how would you interpret 5.2.1.3 and 5.2.1.4 in relation to muzzle orientation and "sweeping"?
  4. This is the OP and his statement of what happened. We're smarter than this! The "exception of sweeping rules" is speaking to the chamber flag and the unslinging or slinging of the PCC. Simply saying that even though the PCC has a chamber flag, if you sweep yourself or anyone else while unslinging or slinging. I can't understand how anyone could make an argument otherwise. The real issue is PCC is not being accepted by some members and they're doing whatever possible to cause grief. With it being clarified what the real situation is and still saying this is a DQ, I have to assume that you just have a problem with PCC in general.
  5. The rule is speaking to the action of sweeping, the unslinging and slinging just as they speak of holstering a pistol. While you carry your pistol in your holster do you not sweep yourself and others if they stand close to you? This is what we're talking about. The guy standing there with his PCC slung behind him and the person next to him is saying that the gun is sweeping him because it's not 100% vertical and is at an angle that it can sweep anyone closer than 5 ft. If he were unslinging or slinging then I'd agree with you as that is the rule, and a good one!
  6. That was in response to the "troll" comment. It's an open discussion that sounds as though it's been misinterpreted. I don't see any other well versed MD's or NROI ruling that a slung rifle is sweeping other shooters without being manipulated to do so
  7. I would agree with that. However that's not what happened according to the OP
  8. I agree that slings have no purpose in USPSA but think about for a second. Sweeping is an action and the rifle being slung is not being handled. Like your pistol. If a shooter can drop his pistol and it sweeps the entire squad while waiting to shoot and not be DQ'd then why on earth would you even consider DQ'ing someone because their legally stowed PCC can sweep you if you get too close??
  9. Haha! If you can't admit that you're wrong then by all means, revert back to grade school. Carrying a slung rifle is considered the equivalent to a holstered pistol, period. Ask whoever you like. Unslinging(if that's a word) and slinging is another story but the OP said that people were being swept if they got too close
  10. So since the "best practice" guidelines allow slings and if you get close enough to someone you can be swept, then the shooter should be DQ'd right? Even though the shooter isn't doing anything to physically sweep someone right? So if the gun is in a cart the same applies?
  11. Which rule are you speaking of specifically?
  12. Chamber flag inserted, it's a stick! I don't see the issue. Another thing I like about 3 Gun, alot of shooters call it the big boy rules for a reason.
  13. To me, my biggest reason was to give back. Obviously these matches would never be possible without the volunteers and as someone else pointed out, you will learn a lot watching 300 shooters shooting your stage and how the top shooters do things a bit differently. It's kind of like a class when you start watching small details like footwork, manipulations, what their eyes are doing during transitions Etc. You'll also learn a lot about stage design and common mistakes. Yes there will be tough calls and disagreements but the best thing you can do is to keep it professional, admit your mistakes quickly and remember that the shooter is the customer for the business that you're representing. Like Troy says, don't be a dick!
  14. I have, the JP shoots everything you can feed it while the Sig requires more gas to make it run. You can reduce the loads in the JP, less recoil and still 100% reliable. A JP built rifle is $1600ish and Glock mags, no brainer after comparing side by side. And I love Sig's but this one doesn't make sense to me
  15. I may be missing something but I don't see the issue. For the shooter or the RO. First, the RO's are volunteers that really try hard to make sure the stage is reset as it should be for the next shooter. Some days are harder than others depending on the shooters they have dealt with but yes, things get missed from time to time and they don't like it either. Besides targets not being taped, sometimes plasters are blown off or simply fall off. Regardless, it's the shooters responsibility to shoot the stage unless given the stop order. More often than not, the RO can tell by overlay or grease rings which holes were that shooters or the previous shooter. I'm sure as heck not going to stop a shooter that may be having the run of his life to later find out that it wasn't going to be a scoring issue anyway.
  16. Man, I'd love to see what JP some of you guys have been shooting. My JP with every load I've tested has been as soft or even softer than the MPX I've shot. Plus mags are cheaper and it always runs, always. Jon
  17. Did PT mention why it may not work with a 1911? I have theirs on a 2011 and just can't imagine why it wouldn't work. Jon
  18. I forgot about this thread but as an update I changed the mag spring awhile back and haven't had an issue since. Must've been it. Jon
  19. So how many gen's are there now and which are the ones to get? I have a JP being built now but I may play with an MPX one day Jon
  20. Lol! I wouldn't say it's fun, challenging yes! Just glad it's being considered and it sounds like you guys are on top of it, thank you!Jon
  21. Um...they're not shooting against each other. Or was this a troll post?Overall matters [emoji23]I think you're on to something unfortunately. HOA seems to be a big ego booster for some. When you think of Carry Optics being approved, why is PCC even a debate?? Jon

  23. Any report of the thin barrels accuracy dropping? Jon
  24. I'm waiting for these questions to be answered as well. With all of the problems the MPX is having, I can't understand why it's worth it unless the recoil is significantly less than the JP. Jon
