  1. I thin`that quitting the sport would be an extreme over-reaction. Yes it wasn't smart...but you knew it as soon as you did it. I'll almost bet you won't do it again. Keep at it and don't worry so much!
  2. All my life I've heard about how "Dirty" Unique is. I don't think it's an especially bad problem, and since all my guns get a thorough cleaning whenever I shoot them, I have no problems using it. I mean back in my younger days I would fire off about 2-300 rounds of .38 special DEWC's in my .357 mag, almost daily. The range officers there all knew me by name!
  3. Should be OK as long as you aren't near a max pressure recipe. Like the guy said though, this won't work with LARGE primers, as the rifle and pistol primers are different heigths.
  4. I've heard that you should keep plated bullets below 1200 fps. At least, that's what Berrys plated bullets recommends.
  5. Two things will help. The Lee factory crimp die has a carbide sizer ring to take care of any top bulges. My Redding GR-X die will take care of any bottom ones for my 10mm and 40 cal, even where the usual die shellholders prevent any sizing.
  6. Well, with the four die Lee set, which is WAY cheaper, the FCD die pretty much will take care of that. And with any good die set, that should not be a problem in the FIRST place.
  7. I use a Precision Bullets 185 grain RFN bullet and HP-38 powder. Why I love this bullet. First a target from my Sig P229 40 cal S&W. Second, a target from my Dan Wesson Razorback 10mm pistol. I don't think I can possibly do any better on MY end.
  8. For that price I got me a total custom build 10mm long slide Fuson Firearms Hunter.
  9. Illinois insane gun laws and all the jobs going to Mexico caused me to move from there to Alabama. Whithin a month of moving down here I got a CCW license. What's the story on Illinois finally giving in and allowing them? I used to go to Buffalo Creek shooting range, but I heard they were having MAJOR problems and possibly shutting down because of stupid Illinois trying to impose severe restrictions on them. Like forcing them to close down the "Pit", where everybody was firing their full auto stuff.
  10. Dude, everybody I had stopped SELLING Bear Creek. Where do you get them? Looking for an online source, since I liked them. Been using Precision Bullets because I can't find Bear Creek. Used them in .45, 9mm, and 10mm pistol loads. Standard Deviation Arms in the vendor tent had some about a week and a half ago. That does not do me much good. I'm looking for an online source.
  11. More proof of why rotary tumbing is better. Will your vibratory clean them up like this? Before: After: Close up of cleaner primer pocket:
  12. Yeah, but not good for the hazmat charge unless you buy a HUGE quantity of them.
  13. Even an American distributer of Lapua/Vihtavouri is out of it. And I heard the parent company is thinking of selling the powdermaking facilities off. http://www.vihtavuori-lapua.com/lapua-brass/
  14. Yes, my go to 10mm powder. For a 165 grain bullet, I would use somewhere around 6-7 grains.
  15. I use a heavier bullet. A 185 grain Precision Bullets RNF "black" bullet. What I love is that their prices all include the shipping, too.
  16. Aww dude, for that price I got a Thumler's Model B rotary tumbler. It cleans the brass SO much better than a vibratory tumbler. When I get enough posts, I'll post some before/after pics of brass cleaned using it and wet stainless steel media. I mena when the black crud in the primer pockets is TOTALLY removed and it looks like new virgin brass! Grog like shiny tings! Or go to http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Gandog56/SANY0023_zps5b92c555.jpg. The six cases on the left cleaned with a vibratoy tumbler, the 6 on the right with my Thumlers.
  17. I use 185 grain Precision Bullets projectiles, and HP-38 powder. I shoot them in my SIG P 229. (Also have the optional 357 SIG barrel, too) I have noticed absolutely no stability problems.
  18. I have one, but rarely use it as I do not like the thing extending well below the magwell.
  19. Dude, everybody I had stopped SELLING Bear Creek. Where do you get them? Looking for an online source, since I liked them. Been using Precision Bullets because I can't find Bear Creek. Used them in .45, 9mm, and 10mm pistol loads.
  20. Just found this board searching for something else. It looks pretty good. I have been collecting old milsurp rifles and pistols a lot. I even have a Federal Curio & Relics License from ATF. I also reload evrything I shoot....except for of course rimfire ammo.
