  1. For pistol brass I clean with primers intact then load in one session. Rifle brass i dry tumble then deprime and trim and clean it again before loading.
  2. I've always used skateboard tape or the 3m tread stuff on my glocks and haven't had any issues with it. It's cheap so if it falls off I throw more on. It doesn't look as nice as the talons or the precut stuff though.
  3. Shoot a glock 34 in matches and was carrying a glock 22 at work but finally got a 34 approved so 34's all day for me. Outside work i carry either an XDS in 45 or a glock 19.
  4. Avoid crossing your feet, see guys trip all the time crossing their feet while training. A side shuffle works for me but everyone's body mechanics are different. Let us know what you figure out.
  5. Thanks much gents, I've got sone research to do now. Much appreciated!
  6. So you added a steel weight to the back of your bolt carrier group? Have you noticed any premature wear or have any issues come up from that mod? I like the idea a lot.
  7. I do reload but these rifles shoot factory speer ammunition. I should have prefaced this post a little. These are work guns that for multiple reasons can't have adjustable gas blocks. So springs and buffers are the options for the time being.
  8. Not an option unfortunately, nor is an adjustable bolt carrier but thanks anyways...
  9. Evening gents, looking for some recommendations for ar15 buffer springs. The rifles are 10.5 barrels with surefire suppressors and they are some gassey SOB's. I'd like to slow the bolt down a bit. I'm already in the process of experimenting with different buffer weights but I'd like a stiff spring to go with a heavier buffer. Any recommendations?
  10. Thanks!! How big of a pain are these to wire into the casefeeder?
  11. That's more information than I had before so yup it'll help. Thanks a bunch.
  12. FYI Hornady sells a 5 pack of pins on Brownells for $8.99, not cheap but better than buying 1 at a time. If I remember correctly the Lyman pins will work in the Hornady spindle dies but the pin will be shorter than the Hornady pins. I haven't tried it personally though. Get a few on Amazon and if it doesn't work ship em back. Good luck
  13. Bullets forward for me, match rig is the same as the duty rig..the old muscle memory stigma.
  14. Check the battery life recommended by the manufacturer and cut it in half if you're worried about it. I changed work gun batteries once a year to be safe.
  15. If your dot starts to "bloom" take a que tip and wipe down the emitter. You can use a lense cleaning solution on the que tip as well if you want.
  16. Break cleaner with a green scrub pad will clean them up nicely. Any leftover residue can be blown out after the scrub pad.
  17. I should have added that, I already have a case feeder and bullet feeder.
  18. I purchased a used 1050 a while back and am planning on getting some use out of it this spring. What are some of the mods available that are actually worth the money? Already planning on getting the level 10 toolhead spring and bushing. What is everyone running?
  19. Looks like you have everything needed to change your priming system to small. As for your upgrades, some guys go all out and get aftermarket stuff for every component. Others leave them bone stock. It's personal preference. I'd highly recommend a light kit so you can see into the casings, roller handle, strong mount, spent primer catcher and the bearing kit. Those few items will make your life way easier. If your press didn't come with a manual I'd recommend downloading a copy from dillons website and printing it out. It will answer 99%of your questions providing you actually read it. This forum is also a wealth of knowledge. Good luck!
  20. Slightly unrelated but you may want to check your lease and make sure there isn't any language in there regarding having explosive compounds in your apartment. I know a lot of apartment buildings around me have clauses in their leases that violation means your evicted no questions asked. Obviously if they don't know it's not a big deal but just something else to ponder.
  21. The manual has a ton of good info in it.
