  1. I going to RO at an upcoming level 2 match. I know the MD and most the other RO's so it wont be the same as ROing nationals or anything but it should be good experience and an opportunity to get my feet wet.
  2. Nice! Ya the 1050 is excellent. I only run one caliber, and for that its perfect. I have never tried a caliber change but have heard it can take 30 minutes or so. Only thing that is annoying about the 1050 is if you get an upside down primer or something happens in the primer system its a PITA to disassemble and clear out the malfunction.
  3. You guys running TTI springs did you just drop them in? I read some having trouble with the nose of the follower diving and having to bend up the spring a bit.
  4. Are grams springs the go to for replacement springs for the old style SV mags? Need to replace the springs in mine before area 4.
  5. what type of stuff do you get to do at nationals as a level 1 RO?
  6. Do your area and section matches cover your costs?
  7. Soooo I just finished up the Level 1 nroi seminar. Lots of good information and the class was very interesting. With that said, it sounds like ROing at a major match might not be that fun. If you have RO'ed a major/sanctioned match: Why did you do it? Because the match was held at your club? To shoot the match for free? Because you like standing in the sun for days and hearing shooters complain? To give back to the sport? Did you enjoy it? Would you do it again?
  8. I use this bullet tray https://www.dillonprecision.com/dillon-rl-1050-super-1050-bullet-tray_8_3_23911.html The 550 ammo bin does fit and I use it sometimes. The big 1050 bin is a pain at times. The bullet tray has been fine for me. I can load pretty quick. Not sure I could get much faster with a bullet feeder. Maybe 10-15%
  9. You will love the 1050 coming from the 550. Priming on the downstroke alone is worth the cost. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
  10. Ive had great success with Ramshot Competition and .40 180 coated bullets.
  11. are you using the Lee bulge buster? Are you running it through before or after the round is loaded?
  12. Can everyone thats posted edit your post with your current class and how long you have been shooting that class/division? Would be interested to see the correlation in actual practice vs performance. I started shooting USPSA in October of last year. My dry fire/live fire was sporadic at best. For the past two months I have been consistent and my new routine is: 1 hour dry fire every morning. If something happens I make it up in the evening. I run Steve Andersons drills for a few weeks then switch to Bens drills for a few weeks. 1 live fire session a week if I can. 2-3 matches a month. Taken 2 classes with Ben this year. Currently at 59% in limited having shot 7 classifiers. Before I was training consistently I was shooting 40's and 50's in classifiers. Since getting serious I recently shot an 80% classifier.
  13. I run a 2011 with a very light trigger. I rarely touch the hammer when doing dry fire. Mostly I grip the shit out of the gun and slap the trigger as hard as I can...because thats what I am going to be doing in live fire. The hammer falling doesnt change that for me. If I was running a production rig i might do it differently.
  14. Like Koideath stated leading with your shooting foot, trailing foot at 8 or 4'oclock. Shooting leg knee over your foot...you will really see more control in the sights. This may not be practical in a run in gun stage but for stand and shoot classifiers it really does help. Max teaches this method in his classes and its improved my classifer weak/strong hand shooting. dry fire dry fire dry fire and confirm with live fire.
  15. My problem is I do the exercises and it starts getting a little better so I stop doing them and it comes back. Got to keep with it! Ive gotten the most relief doing the exercises from the video. The Thera band hurts like hell doing it but I never saw any relief.
  16. With regards to the sleep...I have started doing my dry fire in the mornings rather than at night now. I feel like I get more out of the sessions and I feel myself improving faster. My overall dry fire experience will be noticeably poor if I get less than 7 hours of sleep. If I get good sleep my response time is considerably faster and I have so much more focus. I drive down par times on good sleep days. I have always been bad about waiting till the last minute the night before the match and staying up till 1 am cleaning guns or loading ammo. I had nothing to compare my performance to until I started dry firing in the morning. I can now see how much of a difference it makes and I am working to try and get better sleep on match days.
  17. I wish our club would allow us to do that but I dont see that happening. I think trailers that the equipment stays on is the best bet for us. Anyone building their walls out of 1/4 tubing or something else light?
  18. Whats the point of forums if all we do is search for old info? But thanks for those links.
  19. My current recipe that is providing the best results: Redding dual ring carbide sizer as close to shell plate as possible. Mr Bullet feeder powder funnel Redding competition seating die More crimp then you think is necessary. .400 bullets seem to do better then .401 bullets. Any problems I am still having is a result of glocked brass. Out of 100 I may have 20 that dont gauge because of glocked brass. I can run these through the lee bulge buster and fix about half of them. A buddy just bought a case pro and he gave me a bag of roll sized brass I am going to try this evening and see if that helps. If I get 100 of the roll sized brass to gauge then I can safely say at this point glocked brass is my only issue.
  20. Not getting to hear that Ferrari sound would be sad.
  21. I think a trailer that neatly held all walls and stands...maybe poppers would be the way to go
  22. Lets see pictures of how you and your club manage your props/walls/stands etc. I'm looking to build some trailers to hold everything instead of storing all the stuff in shed. Lets see how your club does it!
  23. Unfortunately, after June/July of 2017 all divisions, including Open, will be ten round divisions in CA. Its sad. I would move I think.
  24. Buying a limited 10 infinity would be like buying an electric Ferrari Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
