Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm using a Safariland 5197 for a 5" M&P with my competitor. Works fine.
  2. I have a 5" and I'm running a 10 lbs recoil with a 17 lbs mainspring. I did have to replace the stock TI firing pin and spring with a steel firing pin and standard FPS. I was getting some lite strikes with the 17 lbs mainspring. It runs great now, I'm using it as my 3-gun pistol.
  3. I've been running a Safariland 5197 with their USPSA hanger, no issues at all.
  4. Nope, not even close. It's a # 6/32 x 1/2" FHCS Torx
  5. No, I'm getting barrel dip when I double tap. It feels like a 12 or 13 lbs recoil spring. I run a 10 in my 9mm single stack with the same ammo (also a Springfield). I would guess that SA starting putting in a heavier recoil spring after the issues with the 5". The disco needs some stoning for sure.
  6. I just picked up a 5" yesterday. I stripped it and did some minor clean up on the trigger track and bow. I took it out and ran 200 rounds through it with no problems (135gr SNS - 3.8gr W231 - 1.12"). The fixed sights were on at 15 yards. It's probably too early to tell, but it looks like Springfield may have addressed some of the issues with the 5" version. It defiantly needs some tuning. The trigger is 4.5 lbs and is creepy. The grip has some really sharp edges around the mainspring housing. It's also a little over sprung and I can feel the slide hanging on the disco. One nice thing I noticed is they ditched the 220 grip safety and went with the standard. Overall, a pretty good value for $1250 (firstline price). I'd say it's fit and finish is almost on par with their TRP line (not quite as good, but close).
  7. I just started shooting CO with an S2 OR with an SRO attached. I've read that the mounting screws (SRO to plate) have been know to shear off and should be replaced about every 5,000 rounds. Can anyone tell me what the screw size is for the SRO to the plate? I have searched and I can not find the info. I'm using the screws that came with the SRO. Thanks.
  8. I've switched to Brownells 10 round 9mm mags (which are really metalform / Dawson with a black coating). They work just as well as my Dawson mags but are quite a bit cheaper. They just have the same issues with trying to unload them.
  9. I had the exact same thing happen to one of my limited guns when I replaced a cracked grip (plastic STI). The issue on mine was the over travel on the trigger. The trigger had too much overtravel with the new grip and was pinning the connector. Once I adjust the the overtravel screw on the trigger the issue was fixed.
  10. Has anyone tried fitting an EGW grip safety to an LSI Outlaw grip? I just got my new build from the smith and really like the outlaw grip, but the beaver tail is just not as comfortable in my hand as the EGW I have on my other limited build.
  11. Can you share what you had to do to fix your mag catch?
  12. This is the exact issue I was running into. 5 or more rounds in the Tripp mags and they would not drop free due to the top round sliding forward. I switched to Brownells (same as Dawson, but black) and I don't have the issue of dropping free with rounds in the mag now.
  13. Are the followers and springs in the Brownells mags the same as the Dawson?
  14. I have the exact same issue with Tripp 9mm mags. The Dawson's work great, I'm curious to see if the Brownell's mags work as well as the Dawson's since they both seem to use Metalform tubes.
