    Shadow 2 holster dilemma

I had to tighten them up after the silicone spray. They were to loose. The spray was the cure.
  2. I just ordered 1,000 230 gn bullets from ACME. I'll give those a try. Thank you,
  3. I'm looking for a good mild practice load for my EDC 1911. What are your favorite coated bullets? For EDC It is filled with Federal 230 gn HST. The gun is a Les Baer. I have a lot of Clays on hand, so that is the powder I would like to use. Any particular brand and bullets you prefer? I have used Blue Bullets & Extreme with good results for 9mm & .38/.357. I have not used either for .45 ACP. Thank you,

    Shadow 2 holster dilemma

I sprayed all three holsters with silicone spray. That was the cure. I tightened up all of the tension screws and the gun just flys out of them.

    Shadow 2 holster dilemma

Thank you all for the replies! My RHT holster is the smoothest as it isn't quite as form fitting as the others. The other two seen to have been shaved by the slide serrations. I suppose with time it will shave itself to a perfect fit. I just put the ratchet on my belt and that helps also. I also think the finish that CZ uses is a lot more grippy than bluing or a hard finish.

    Shadow 2 holster dilemma

I have the Double Alpha standard belt. It works with the holsters because it is so stiff. I just can't get the holsters to work with a good quality thick leather cow style of belt. It seams that instead of just the pinch in the trigger guard area holding the gun in place, the area surrounding the slide is holding it also, causing it to bind on the draw.

    Shadow 2 holster dilemma

It is an interesting situation. The holster with the BOSS hanger on the DA belt is the same holster that I have with the TEKLOK. That holster is binding on the draw unless the draw is perfectly straight up and down. Anything other than that and it is locked in there. The third holster is a little better. Looking at them, they are vacuum formed and there is tons of contact with the gun. The third holster looks to be pressed and has less contact and is not as finicky. My 1911s & Sigs fly out of there holsters. It is right handed. I can live with the DA & BOSS holster. The others I would OWB carry, but cannot master a successful draw with them.
  9. I have three holsters for my Shadow 2, all from top tier companies. My problem is unless the tension screws are almost completely backed out it is very difficult to draw the gun from the holster. The holster mounted with a Boss hanger on a DA belt works the best due to the belt being very stiff. The two with Teklok mounted on a standard everyday gun belt are very frustrating. When I draw the gun it sticks in the holster and the whole mess wants to swing up { the muzzle wants to swing out and up } If I turn these holsters upside-down and shake, the gun easily drops out. I have many different handguns & holsters and I only have a problem with the Shadow 2. Anyone else have this problem? Thank you, Mike
  10. Thank you. I'll have some transitions to work on this week.
  11. I've been pretty disappointed in my shooting lately, so I went to a steel challenge match as a spectator. I had a great time so I signed up for the next match. Now motivated, I've been doing dry fire practice every day. My dry fire practice has been coming out of the holster, concentrating on my grip and trigger press for the double action first shot. At the range I set up a paper target and a steel plate. I loaded three mags. The first was from the holster, double action on the paper target, concentrating on grip & trigger press, not on speed at all. The second mag was out of the holster with a double action shot on the paper and then a quick single action shot on the steel. The third mag was a quick double action shot on steel with a quick follow up on the paper target. Overall 250 rounds. I shanked a few but 1000% better than two weeks ago. Am I correct in thinking the first double action shot is what I should be spending the most time on as it sets the tone for the rest of the shots? This week I'm going to add another paper target and another steel plate Is that too much too soon?
  12. Thank you! I'm looking forward to shooting them out of this.
  13. I want to load practice and target loads in 38 Special to shoot out of my 357. With powder being very difficult to find I am left to using powder I already have. I will be using Blue Bullets 158gn SWC bullets. I have a lot of Sport Pistol on hand and would like to use it, if feasible. Have any of you had success with this powder and the 38 Special? Thank you,
