  1. Thanks, Dave! I won't be at Heidelberg, I'll be getting ready to head out to SHOT. Andy
  2. Anybody have any luck with getting a Safariland ALS holster to work with an STI Eagle (or other short dust cover 2011)? If so, which model number did you get? Thanks! Andy
  3. As the title says, any tips for fitting an Infinity trigger in an STI?
  4. Quick question, will a +8 or +9 Nordic tube bring an M3K to 12+1? Thanks! Andy
  5. Which is the preferred trigger to replace a stock STI trigger in an Eagle .40? Thanks!
  6. Same here. I had great difficulty loading more than 3-4 rounds in the tube with the factory spring. As soon as I replaced it with a Nordic spring I had no issues whatsoever. I trim mine to 14" past the tube, replace when it shrinks to 12".
  7. Thanks everyone. I went with the bushing barrel Eagle 5.0. It has been 100% reliable out of the box, and I'm very happy with it.
  8. Greetings. Looking at either the STI Edge or the STI Eagle 5.0. This will be in .40, used for both USPSA Limited and 3-Gun. Any thoughts about one over the other? Personal preference? Thanks! Andy
  9. I'm liking the Midway 3-gun bag so far. Fits a Versamax with 12 shot tube easily.
  10. Larue SPR mount on a .5" riser. Puts the optic at 3" over bore.
  11. Probably less than the amount of time an additional reload would cost...
  12. I couldn't get enough of a purchase on the round tube to hold it still. Even in the vise it would spin when I tried to unscrew the cap. Oh well, I'll give it another go.
  13. When I first got my Versamax, everybody was sold out of the +8 Nordic tubes, so I got a +7 and put a Roulette Tactical +1 cap on it to give me 12+1. the 12 shot tube gives you SO much versatility in stage planning. I couldn't imagine going to anything less.
  14. Yes - I just tried it. Bolt retraction is noticeably stiffer. The gun still cycles 100% with WalMart Federal bulk pack birdshot when held normally in the shoulder. I did also do a worst-case "limp wristing" test, shooting the gun OFF the shoulder; the gun still cycled and fired fine, but sometimes would not lock open on empty... I don't foresee this as being a problem, and even this should resolve as the spring takes a set. As well as improving bolt closure/feeding, I am hoping this heavier action spring will reduce battering of the gun with hotter (high brass) loads. I am going to change out the action springs in all my guns for the Wolff version, even though the others run 100% with the factory spring. Here is a photo; top = lightly used factory spring, middle = brand new factory spring, bottom = Wolff XP Benelli spring How did you get the 'cap' off of the action spring tube? I tried for about an hour and I couldn't get mine to loosen.
  15. I know the last time we used the 600 my squad had problems calling hits on steel. Maybe some more 'reactive' targets than the static B/C or full-size silhouettes?
  16. I shot this one over the weekend. 8.23sec, 9A, 3C, 57pts. HF 6.85. If my math is correct, my first M classifier (86.709%).

  18. Before you replace the action spring, give the whole trigger group/lifter a full tear-down and cleaning. The gunk from lube attracting dirt, etc was what was causing my problem.
  19. I ran my new Strike Eagle through it's first match this weekend. Overall I'm very happy with it. The reticle is going to take some getting used to for me for distance, but I can deal with that. Here's a video of me running it through a hoser stage:
  20. Just a little followup. I tore down the entire trigger assembly, removed the lifter, etc. There was a lot of gunk from lube that had attracted dirt and such. Gave the entire group a good cleaning, and now it runs great. Ran about 100 rounds through it yesterday at a match without a single hiccup.
  21. So, I have a new Pro Custom 16.40 on the way. I'm reading all of this threads about how to make mags work and such, and how just about every mag out there will fit/work WITHOUT the magwell. So, my question.....has anybody tried/found a different magwell? Or made modifications to the existing magwell to allow the mags to seat? Thanks!
  22. So, a little more info. Haven't done anything else yet except clean and lube. This morning I was doing some dry-fire reloading practice, and I noticed that occasionally I could get the bolt to lock to the rear without pressing the shell catch. A quick tap on the lifter sends it back into battery. This would happen when the shotgun was completely empty, so that rules out the magazine spring. So I'm thinking it actually is the action spring, and it doesn't have enough force to overcome whatever friction there is on the bolt when its in its rearward position. Any more thoughts?
  23. Under the 3GN rules, if a stage calls for a mandatory rifle reload, can this be accomplished by utilizing coupled mags and switching from one mag to the other?
