  1. I just swapped out the Dillon roller handle for the Ergo handle and feel I made the right decision. With the regular roller handle I too felt like I had to reach too far down. A worthwhile upgrade.
  2. Thanks. I haven't actually loaded any lead yet but have them sitting there waiting for me. I will definitely research the process more before starting on them. I know you mentioned the FCD specifically but does that mean you don't use the Dillion Taper Crimp with lead bullets either?
  3. I just bought a set of Dillon 9mm dies and had previously acquired a Lee Factory Crimp die that I was going to use with Lee dies. When the opportunity came up to get the Dillon dies I jumped at it. But now I'm not sure which one I should use. I know some people say neither but I like to put a nice light crimp on. Does the Dillon and the Lee essentially work the same or is there any fundamental difference between the two? Same goes for 45ACP that will primarily be shot out of 1911's. Oh, I'm also going to be using more and more lead hard cast bullets instead of plated if that makes any difference.
  4. That is how I bought mine as well. I believe the cost of the casefeeder and the plate separately came out to be the same as one of the packages that includes both of them. I thought it was odd as well but the shop owner specifically mentioned it and asked which plate I needed. So I bought mine in 2 parts but didn't get ripped off doing it. Was this a shop in MN by any chance?
  5. Received today a .223 trim die and deluxe quick change kit that I ordered on March 1st. Everything else in my order came at least a month ago. I have a feeling it was the 223 trim die that was the big hold up.
  6. So on March 1st I ordered a bunch of stuff through BE and got almost everything weeks ago. Only thing missing from my original order was a quick change kit and a 223 trim die that I'm still waiting on. On March 22nd I ordered a 300BLK conversion kit and another quick change kit direct from Dillon. I got both of these items a couple weeks ago. So while I got the quick change kit I ordered 3 weeks after the first one I ordered I'm still waiting on the first one and the trim die. Thankfully I bought a used trim die so I can make 223 ammo while I wait.
  7. Discount? Look on EBay and other sale sites. Can probably get all your money back or more.
  8. What's the best way to stop new primers from advancing or do you have to empty out the primer tube when you are using your prep tool head and don't want to prime the cases?
  9. Ordered from BE on 2/25: Trimmer, roller handle, 223 Conversion Kit and a bunch of other accessories. Received most of the order yesterday 4/4: All except a 650 Quick Change Kit and my 223 trim die. Currently I can load 45acp, and of the other 3 rounds I plan on reloading (9mm, 223 and 300BLK) I have like all but one component for each of them. Missing a die here or a conversion kit there, etc. But I'm getting closer.
  10. Guess I shouldn't have used mine to load 500 Federal LPP last night in just a few minutes.
  11. I had a 650 on order from BE when I found one locally that I bought. I thought long and hard about flipping it and just waiting for the one on order but my need for instant gratification won. I cancelled my order thinking that those that are waiting for theirs from BE/Dillon are the ones who will be using them more so than flipping them. I'm sure in reality there are just as many on order that will be used by the purchaser compared to those that will eventually be flipped for profit.
  12. Falcon Bullets appears to have some stock and has gotten some favorable reviews lately. I haven't used them personally but have 2k on the way. http://www.falconbullets.com/Default.asp
  13. I Was going to put together a conversion kit using the AK pieces but I see that Dillon now offers a conversion specifically for the 300 BLK/Whisper. Is the AK funnel still the way to go or is this new? conversion kit the answer now if you can wait long enough to get one? I don't have a 300BLK upper yet so I have time to wait.
  14. Your sales pitch is getting tiring. There are many options available at different prices and all work for some just fine.
  15. Loaded 5 tubes yesterday straight into the Dillon tubes by holding it up to the opening. Didn't use the little adapter or the tube that came with the Vibra-Prime. Worked very slick. The whole thing takes a little practice to get right. Tilt it too much and you cause a primer traffic jam, too little and they don't go down the slot into the tube fast enough. But once you get it, slick as snot.
  16. Bullet feeders would be next for me. After that, maybe motorize that 1050.
  17. Do you offer discounts on purchases of more than one?
  18. Wish I would have seen the Magnums and ordered 5k of each to spread out the Hazmat. Still cheaper than Cabelas.
  19. Guess those hundreds of thousands of people loading on Lee gear is doing something wrong. It's definitely not the best quality stuff out there and it didn't take me long to upgrade from a Lee Classic Turret to a Dillon xl650 but you can definitely crank out some decent ammo that goes bang. Like anything, you do get what you pay for.
  20. Be sure to check out the Tips and Tricks thread in the FAQ forum as well. Some good info in there including some upgrades/mods.
  21. Got mine today. Even if it cost an extra $15 per 1000 or more I guarantee I'll have wasted $15 in dumber ways while I'm shooting those 1000 rounds.
