  1. Nice! DAA/CED also has one but I'm sure that like his bags, Chuck's model is awesome!
  2. Hi, Is anyone using energy stimulants as a boost before a match or even before every stage? I'm referring to coffee tablets, energy gum, all sorts of vitamins, energy drinks, etc'? Cheers
  3. Talk to Bobby McGee from blade tech or call them(He'll know what to do). They'll be able to help you or replace the holster, since you can return the holster and get a full refund, etc'(when not satisfied).
  4. Don't get me started on firearms laws in Israel The situation is quite grim. It's not the case - but the staggering ammunition costs around here. For the same reason, I save the 124gr mainly for matches and train with 115. I'm qualified as a sports shooter and get discounts for ammo, and still...so expensive! We're not allowed to reload, so we have to tolerate the high prices. 0.40 is pricey, 0.38 super is SUPER expensive and very hard to get(same for 0.45). Another issue, is the lack of variety. People shoot what they can get their hands on, and currently we have about 4 brands available.
  5. Hey Fredrik, I asked Vince about a year ago about the cancellation of the modified division and he almost burned me alive! It seems like every year, there are rumors about the cancellation of that particular division, and he assured me it's not the case. I haven't visited in the global village for awhile, and I do hope it's not the case. I spoke with Mike C. from Schuemann and he recommended the hybridcomp, since it would offer better recoil control and just as you've said, you can use whatever external comp' you want. I wanted the tribrid, so I could avoid the external comp', and have a one piece barrel(instead of 2 or 3 parts), but the external comp' works better. SV's IMM modified gun is a perfect example for a tribrid, with a full dustcover frame(offers more weight in the front) - The two barrels I have are perfect and work flawlessly.
  6. Just found a reply in my mailbox from C-More. 3-4 weeks before the sights are ready for shipment. Great customer service - I have the flyer of the sight. If anyone's interested, I'll send it via mail. PDF. Available in black or desert tan. Adapters available : STS/jpoint/docter/colt 1911/glock/beretta 92/XD/Sig p226/rail mount-weaver,picatinny/3.8" rail/30mm scope mount/1" Scope mount/sts FN PS90
  7. I use a pair of docters...but I'm tired of zeroing the dot every time I move the sight. *Still - Haven't found anything remotely close to the quality of docter. Well worth the $.
  8. Read a review somewhere on the web, states that the Para C6's grips should fit the Para 9.
  9. Looking for some STS, The only place on web I've found, was uscav.com *Is it offered only in weaver???? or are any other adapters available?
  10. I've been using Ribas for over 3 years, and brought quite a few for fellow competitors. I was DQ'ed once for dropping the gun while running(holster's lock was on position 1 while the tension screw was light-that's why you have position 2! and even 3), and have seen others dropping the gun, mostly while holstering. You need to get the setup right and be mindful when holstering. I've seen guns flying out of Ghosts and jumping from Cr-Speeds. No holster on the market is fool proof, though I think G.Ribas is the best one out there.
  11. Since firing pin intertia is ruled out...it seems likely that upon impact, the hammer followed through, the slide wanting to go backwards simply tore the safety out if it's place, sending it a few yards away as described.
  12. Hello people, As a modified shooter, I've been using 2 types of barrels in my division. Both using a sleeve, hybrid compensators, while one also has an external compensator : These are not Schuemann, but Lothar Walther barrels. I've been toying with the idea of getting a couple of new guns, and was wondering what would be the most effective barrel for modified division? using a barrel with both hybrid compensator+External compensator(The Schuemann hybricomp)or a altered Tribrid which means, hybrid compensator+integral chambers? Remember, modified guns are usually commander sized, since they must fit the box, and also have to retain factor. I shoot 9mm, usually 124 gr. and even at 115, I pass 125(around 127 for 115gr and 135 for 124gr). Examples for the schuemann barrel : What do you think? Cheers,
  13. It's quite common in series 70's and models with no firing pin safeties, that the firing pin moves forward when the pistol hits a hard surface(usually, on the floor). I believe an extra power firing pin spring should do the job. I was DQ'ed a couple of months ago after the backup gun went off while I was loading. The drill started with the gun at position 3 in the holster-Ribas(magazine inserted, not loaded), after the beep, drawed+racked the slide, and the gun went off(hammer fell after the slide). After examining the backup gun(didn't use it for almost a year! and took it to the match in the morning, since I've had difficulties with the main one), the hammer hooks appeared to be worn out. Didn't take a chance, replaced both the hammer and sear, even the safeties, just to be on the safe side. A little tuning, works like a charm. Next time, I'll check it before the match. Anyways, I'm happy to hear you're ok. Must have been a terrifying experience...I would have probably soiled myself!

I love the gunsmith blank. Personal preference as everyone said.
  16. The upper screw holds the bigger rod/pin in place, while the lower one helps stabilize the blast shield to the cmore/offset angles, just like Aristotle said.
  17. Cesare, Yes - A is the one for most 1911's and B is for CZ, Beretta, etc'. One of the more common 'mistakes' when replacing the retention clips is to over tight the screw that holds it. You can notice that if the 'safety' is hard to move. If that doesn't help, do as Jody said and take some material off. Arredondo makes some great products. Either way, as Jody mentioned you can always contact Frank or Cathy on sales/info at @recomp.co.za and they'll provide great customer service as well as answers to any of your question. If you do take some material off, consider getting some replacement parts, either directly from cr speed or from other retailers such as Chris at CPWSA. Since you live in Italy, a local dealer could reduce the shipping costs. You can get just the retention clip and not the whole package.
  18. Hi Thomas, I doubt that, I know only of 9/40/45 - but you can always ask Cathy or Frank directly at info/sales with the domain of @rescomp.co.za Superb customer service - They'll be happy to answer any of your questions.
  19. XD, is the key, and consider yourself lucky
  20. Bull frogs are nasty! They eat almost anything.
  21. Both Chuck and Rene' have great customer service, but try Chris at CPWSA( www.cpwsa.com ), and I assure you, you won't be disappointed! BTW - Frank and Cathy from Rescomp(Cr Speed)also offer superb assistance.
  22. Everyone, Thanks for the great input! this is for a friend, I myself use 2011 clones(SPS), so no Para for me. It's an old P14, which shoots great, and he uses it for self defense(this guy used to walk around with Ruger Super Redhawk, and a Desert Eagle 44')so the weight isn't an issue It was almost impossible to get a Para around here. Only in recent months - we finally have a distributor, and the new models are nice! especially the Limited/Signature series(though I don't like the LDA). Anyways, I know fitting is required, and learned many times that 'drop in' isn't usually drop in. Spent a lot of time with my customized 2011's(with all the bells and whistles)and had to tune and fit many parts. Always knew Para was a different kid on the block, but didn't know exactly what can be fitted or not - so once more, thanks for the assistance!
