  4. I forgot what max is but I think you'll find that 1.135 is one of the more common OALs for Glocks.
  5. So, since I'm not going to work on a trigger myself, what builders have the best reputation for quality trigger work?
  6. I'm a striker-fired, production shooter curious about limited and the 2011-style guns. I've read the forums and it's easy to find opinions on builders by perceived reliability, service, cosmetics, etc. What I missed is a discussion on triggers. I'm not very familiar with the 1911/2011 platform. Is the quality of trigger job a consideration or are all triggers (aside from break weight) essentially the same? If not, what builders have a reputation for the best triggers? As a follow-up, how much (if at all) do trigger/ignition parts matter? It seems that each builder favors a different brand.
  7. FC is great most of the time. I've experienced the same issue on FC only. Primers just won't fully seat. It doesn't happen a lot but when it does it is FC. I loaded 1200 rounds this weekend of RP, WIN and FC. I had about 5 FC waste primers since they wouldn't fully seat.
  8. I have a similar TG load. After about 3,500 rounds, all have been within .1, usually .05 if you average out. Dillon measure and used dryer sheets for the occasional wipe down.
  9. ^^^i pick up that free brass and continue loading until I find splits. I haven't had any 'splode yet. Stock Glock barrels are very robust. Of course, I'm relatively new to reloading but this is what a lot of the gray beards do and most of them have all their fingers.
  10. There are 10 Federal holidays and only 8 Areas. Why don't we have Area matches on Federal holidays? We'd still have 2 left over. I keed, I keed. We have a very short shooting season in the frozen north. I do not envy the task of aligning points matches from the clubs, sectional, etc. within the already short season. Compressing into 13 weeks seems like a challenge. I am curious though, which match did you decide to shoot? August will be beautiful in WI for Area 5 while I've never been to VA / Area 8.
  11. Maybe I missed something. Is the baffle attached? I thought the baffle would fall when you turn the hopper over to pour out the power.
  12. Looks cool but isn't it a PITA when you want to dump out powder?
  13. Shootsteel.com here in MN makes nice stuff.
  14. Captured. I use the barrel to gauge ammo so I take it out a lot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I believe Gopher, up in Harris, MN, does a little Steel Challenge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. My googlefu is weak. Link to -37 db plugs?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Wow! Weighing every single completed round sounds really time consuming. Out of curiosity, what is an acceptable tolerance before you'll pull a round? I'm newer to reliading myself but have noticed variation in bullet weight and case weight (mixed brass). What scale do you use?
  18. The only matches in Feb in MPLS are indoor, 2-stage IPSC-like. One is on Sunday's in the north metro and the other on Thursdays in the south metro.
  19. CCI G34 4.5 spring sets off every time. Striker channel clean?
  20. How loose do you recommend? I recently picked up 5 from BSPS with bullets out. I haven't run them in a match yet. I didn't lock tight mine but tightened very snug so they won't rotate. No issues in dry fire yet but I really haven't pushed reloads.
  21. I've only tried the Talon rubber textured grips. I personally prefer skate tape over rubber. I could never go back to plain Gen4 texture or worse, plain Gen3. I keep the rubber Talons on a Gen4 17 that is primarily a nightstand gun. They work great and are very comfortable. I'd consider a set for carry. For competition skate tape is my preference
  22. Very nice. I've enjoyed this thread and the weekly video tips.
