Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. A couple weeks ago I picked up a Gen 4 34 for IDPA. Have been using a 17. I do like the.way the 34 shoots. Glad I got it. A friend also picked up a 34 recently, but his is a Gen 3. He quickly put some Dawson grip tape on it, and it is pretty nice. Considering the nubs on the Gen 4 grip (vs. the relatively smooth Gen 3 grip) can a guy put grip tape on a Gen 4? Is there enough contact to hold the tape? This probably gets asked a lot, so I apologize in advance. Many thanks for any advice.
  2. I favor Alessi and Kramer. They build pretty good stuff. Spendy, but worth every penny. I ordered an Alessi Talon Plus on a Tuesday, and the following Monday it was on my porch. Never had a Milt Sparks, but only because I didn't want to wait six months (for real!) to get one.
  3. I ordered a Kramer MSP that has yet to arrive. Good stuff from what I have heard. Spendy gamble. I did get a Blackhawk Serpa for my 229 SIG that does well. I practice with what I will carry. For now it is the Serpa. Soon (hopefully) it will be the Kramer. Or an Alessi Talon Plus that I will carry my Smith 60 in. Waiting for the leather to show up.........
  4. Hello to all. New to handguns (serious handguns) but not new to firearms. Spent most of my time behind rifles. Raised on shotguns. Now playing catchup with handguns. Have owned many, but have pared the arsenal down too low. Never did practice with them. Practice time was for rifles. That has changed. Have begun to build a decent arsenal. Time to learn how to run them well. I understand that this is a good place to start, along with the IDPA shoots that I go to.
