Background: I've never reloaded but I've been reading up as best I can for sometime. I'm fairly set on a Dillon 550 since I plan on reloading multiple calibers (9mm minor, initially) but won't do the volume a 650 or 1050 support.
Dilemma: Space is a challenge at my house. With 3 small children and poor floor plan design, I can't find space where I could safely permanently mount a press.
Questions:
1) Does anyone use a portable set-up for the 550? If so, do you have any issues seating the primer on the upstroke?
2) Are you limited to priming by hand with a or table set-up?
3) Any success mounting a 550 to one of those Lee stands or a pedestal for a grinder?
4) What other mounting options do you suggest?
I will be moving next year and then have space for a bench. I'm hoping to start with a 550 now and load 9mm all winter. While I will add a single stage eventually to help with case prep for other calibers, I'm hoping you guys have some suggestions so I don't have to use a single stage all winter.
Thanks!
