Just shot this today in somewhat inclement weather. I have achieved greatness with 79 points with a smokin time of just 18.38 seconds with only SEVENTY PENALTY POINTS for a fine hit factor of .4897 that should come back pretty good, I'm thinkin. Along with the other EIGHTY penalty points I racked up at the match I still managed to get 1st place in L-10

Something that has helped me is going to other ranges, without this I would have quit about 4 months ago. The advice and the different classes of shooters found at other matches is priceless... take advantage of it! The first pointer that made a huge diff for me was static reloads, no clue I was doing them till someone told me Second was a good grip thats a hole post in itself, made a huge improvement for me Third, steve andersons dry fire drills, also priceless you can feel yourself improving. I've practiced a couple of them 3 times and I can smell A CLASS -started april 30 2004 now B class Simply do not try to shoot fast it never pays off, if you feel like your going slow your probably shooting really well. Whenever I follow this rule I do great! Getting on this forum has also been a major help tons of info for free and great people too

One reason is that the safety stuff can cause problems with the gun going "bang." If you don't get the grip safety depressed absolutely all the way, all you will hear is a click. The trigger will move and the hammer will drop, but the firing pin block won't get out of the way. As with Series 80 safeties, there is also the potential for peening of the firing pin if it's not clearing the plunger 100% each time. That will eventually lead to a dead gun without any warning. The Swartz and Series 80 firing pin blocks are poorly executed solutions to non-existent problems that can induce unnecessary reliability problems. They might be more benign if 1911 manufacturers maintained tolerances the way SiGArms does, but that's just not the case. Because kimber uses series 70 this doesn't count or does it? Also is this from a worn or poorly fit grip safety and do the basic safety/function checks detect this I shoot a kimber custom II just curious I'm still lost or just confused can't tell which

I shoot L-10 with some people who use wilson mags they say the mag lips need reforming from time to time. I use chip m. they all needed help. There are lip forming tools from brownells that are well worth the $80 after using the tools once you will see the difference in your mags As far as the Tripp mags one shooter is STILL waiting on them to arrive! The malfunction from slidelock, what does Les Baer say about that. I shoot a dif brand and never had a problem with the 1911 or anything else I have. hope some of this is at least a little help.

spook, sounds like you are at the next level . I think eric pretty much nailed it. working on making these the same in feeling should keep you busy for a lifetime! just a note about rons question about the buzzer and the hammer... which one first? use a tape recorder to capture both sounds as you practice then play it back you may be suprised at what you hear the tape will tell all

four 771 and one uncle mikes double in the back works great the 771 adjust tension well and are smooth to draw from, the uncle mikes is what I load and take the extra round from its not much good for any thing else

perhaps a burr on the powder bar my 650 had one I filed it off and it is very consistent now

Shot this today L-10 hf 8.2583 this could be my first A class score I think its just a hair over 76% any Idea?

Hey steve, look at the bright side, I won L-10 for you today thanks I thought you would be there today and I thought TDEAN was going to shoot L-10 and who knows how many others WAY better than I am so I took stages 1-5 nice and slow and I shot pretty good just wanted fun on the last stage so I hosed it without the sites and got a mike. Then results are up and I did ok but you still beat me on 4 stages I'm allowed 2 lucky ones! I seem to shoot best when I think I'm outclassed I then end up taking my time and get my hits and things turn out great! And don't forget you beat D Holiwell he's a master class and you were above him! and you were near the top of the pack out of 43 shooters for the day
