Sprint to a position or shoot while moving
Sherwyn replied to muahdib4's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
Sorry Jake, Gotta disagree with you on this one. I've put the timer and calculator to this many times and have found VERY few times that it is not an advantage to shoot while moving. Now I do have to qualify this by saying that my movements while not shooting are not going to be anywhere as quick as yours but even putting the timer to my son Nick's shooting, we get the same results. Nick will tell yo that he always feels faster when stopping and shooting, but that's not what the timer says. That said, What I see happen most often is that taking even a single target on the move can sometimes drastically change a stage plan, and most just don't look at it. Sherwyn -
Think you mean you want to use the C-more railway and yes it will work, that is what I have on mine. Of course you could drill and tap the marvel rail and use a slide ride. Sherwyn

Don't have my Front Sight Mag with me, will be checking it out. This does not match any conversation I have had with John Amidon. Will follow up. Sherwyn

What is "National" ?? It sounds like, to work as a CRO at the Nationals, they may want you to have experience ? There's now an "experience requirement" to enroll in the CRO class, handed down by the NROI RMI group. As a Section Coordinator and former MD, I'm not certain that's a good idea -- IMHO we should be encouraging the folks who design and build stages at local (most) matches to get more education, and not make that process harder.... Think we are getting some items mixed together. There are experience requirement similar to those mentioned for completion of Range Master., but no such requirements to enter CRO program. You are required a year as an RO. Yes we would like as many ROs and CROs as possible. And we have made the CRO course available as a correspondence course to make it easier. Sherwyn

How old is your dot module? When they start to fade it shows up as short battery life...if you test the battery, you might find it really is not that weak. Smaller dots seem to fade faster for me, I use a 6MOA and only run it a season before replacing it. Sherwyn

My guess would be it is mid 80's vintage. Actually quite a few around, have numerous of that vintage around our plant. But be warned, there is a good chance your first breakdown will cost you more than that to repair. When ours hit a major repair, we strip it for parts and scrap metal the rest. And yes it would definitely be 3 phase. Sherwyn

Mostly agree with all the previous comments. Two things I can add from experience. It is VERY easy to buy too small a compressor. You will hate the noise in your gun room / basement. After several other methods over the years, I now have a large compressor in my shop (outside) and ran a small 1/4" plastic line to an 3 gallon tank in my gun room. Got all the air I need for gun work and NO noise. Just my .02 Sherwyn
