  1. Already signed up and squaded for the sectional?? it's amazing how addicting this sport is I think it has consumed me? And I work for cubcrafters out of Yakima Washington, building the piper design.
  2. Update: went and bought a set of hornady custom grade dies with the floating alignment bullet seater. You can set it to seat with or without a crimp. Set it to seat without a crimp and then finish it with my rcbs seat/crimp die(only crimping it). No more shaving the coating on the bayou's. Thanks for the help everyone??
  3. Thanks sorry bout the long paragraphs typed that up on the iPhone between parts at work??
  4. Been lurking for way too long... I'm from Yakima, WA. About two years ago I graduated from a local trade school to become a machinist. I'd been in to shooting guns casually at the time. Started a job to build airplanes and found out a couple co workers shot local uspsa match's. Of the few handguns I owned at the time, one was a Springfield milspec 1911. I was offered up a complete single stack rig if I wanted to give it a try. Went and shot my first match and things spiraled out of control from there. Went and purchased a m and p 40 pro and and all the fixings to get set up for limited. Shot that for 7 months or so. Then my shop lead told me he was unloading a 6 in 40 2011 with 4 mags and a doh COM holster for a pretty good price to fund a new gun for himself. Needless to say the m and p found a new owner and I had became the new owner of a pistol I felt I could grow into(my love for 1911's I feel encouraged the upgrade). Fast forward about last June, got myself set up with a progressive press to roll my own ammo, a uspsa membership, and the stoeger books( things are getting pretty serious ?). Got a good group of guys I shoot with regularly that have really helped me to learn the game and pushed me to become better. this is the first forum I have ever became a member of and I'm very thankful it exists because I have been bit by this competitive shooting bug very bad and don't think I will ever recover. It's nice to be able to ask questions and get answers from people who really care about the sport and actually have experience on the topic at hand. In May I will be shooting my first major match which will be area 1 so I figured time to make it official with the introduction. Thanks again for the great forum it truley is a great resource for all types of competitive shooting information.??
  5. Thanks for the input guys ended up with a 15inch mi and am happy with it. Seekins adjustable gas block fits under it nicely. Now to go tune the gas down.
  6. Hmm mine it more towards where the top of the case.it is probably .025ish ring. I'm thinking it's done with the crimp before the bullet is seated all the way. It was worse before I made the bell bigger. I think seperating the bullet seating process and crimp would fix the issue but I'm on the fence about the bullet not being seated concentric to the case and have inconsistent oal after crimping
  7. I'm having a simalier issue with bayou 180's on a hornady lnl. Thinking it's the rcbs seat/crimp die. Looking for a way to separate the two operations any ideas?i do have a extra pocket but haven't been able to find a solution. Any input is appreciated
  8. I've used mine on short distance (indoor 2 gun match) and it was great for that. With a 200yard zero the drops on the reticle look like they will work just fine.
  9. Thanks for the help gents went with the 15 inch version and a seekins adjustable gas block. Excited to get it together.
  10. I second that on the reloads needing to be a bit more precise. They drop free easier but if the mag is rotationally out of alignment it can get stuck. That being said its one of the best things I've added to my pistol??
  11. Right on guess I'll give it a go worst case scenario I can just strip it again thanks
  12. Since we are on the topic of steel grips I have a pt textured grip(not aggressive) and and in the process of replacing worn out parts and stripped it down to bare metal to recoat it. Curious what you guys are coating your grips with? A couple places local to me offer cerekote but not sure how it would be on the grip, don't want to loose any grip. Sorry for the thread hijack but my search came up with no results. Thanks for any input on this??
  13. Does it come with a proprietary barrel nut or does it use the factory nut?
  14. Looking for a handgaurd for a dpms 308 low and curious what everyone's preference is. Gun will be for heavy metal and hunting. Not too concerned about weight as much barrel nut design. Thanks in advance for the help
  15. Cz scorpion is what I went with.mags are cheap for it, aftermarket support for it is getting better all the time( trigger upgrades still lacking) and unloaded table starts are way cooler when u can give it the mp5 slap. They are also coming out with a new gen this spring/summer that will have a carbine option already with folding stock and muzzle threads will be changed from 18x1 to 1/2-28
  16. That video is spreading like wild fire. Much respect for Keanu and the tti team.
  17. That's a great idea for not forgetting to reload a mag you just sold me on one
  18. Com (center of mass) kydex drop offset works well for me I like the retention adjustment
  19. Cr speed work just fine for me
  20. Somewhat spendy but I really like the noveske nsr
  21. I have a adjustable luth on my 3 gun at its solid and the adjustable cheek piece is nice for consistent cheek weld
  22. I just bought a strike eagle good scope for the money the warranty makes me feel better about dumping it in a bucket
  23. I've heard good things bout aero sets and they sometimes have blems
  24. i think it's a quality piece at a great price. Got it for 250 from dsg. Rifle shoots nice and soft just like I planned haha. I'm a machinist by trade, and I can say it's amazing how skeletonized it is when you think about what it does, but if it's good enough for pat Kelley and Jesse Tischauser then it's good enough for me!
