A CZ 18 round tube, long base pad (the one to make a 16 round tube 141mm), and Grams spring/follower gets 25-26 rounds and is your best option for a big stick without welding tubes.
  3. I have a pair of them I'm sell for $30 shipped:
  4. Add a half ounce, but that's all. Henning's pin will indeed eliminate the function of the side stop, but slide lock reloads are for SS guys, not Limited
  5. An OAL of ~1.160" should work fine with most 115gr RN bullets (which us what I recommend), the following charges should make major, or close to depending on the bullet (plated are faster than jacketed, but not as accurate). I list in order of preference: SP2 (3N38 can substitute) - 9.0-9.5gr HS6 - 8.5-9.0gr Autocomp (CFE Pistol can substitute) - 7.2-7.6gr These numbers are for reference only, use your best judgement.

  7. Tanfoglio Limited Pro: Keeping up with the Joneses!
  8. What weight recoil spring are you running? it appears to me the slide stops break on the way back into battery. You could always use one of Hennings pins: http://henningshop.com/products/tanfoglio-titefit-slide-pin-h181 Although you might break the barrel instead of the pin... What about using a brand new pin for matches and rotating it out every few thousand rounds?
  9. Looks like the frame has been narrowed at the grip, and includes Tanfoglio style grip checkering, features a 1911 style mag release button, Novak style rear sight, squared trigger guard, straighter trigger, and thin safeties. Looks like it's been redesigned to better accommodate shooters with smaller hands.
  10. I own lots of guns, all have some group size disparity between Xtremes and MGs, the the degree of spread varies greatly; just yesterday I shot Xtremes through my KKM barreled gun and was shocked by the spread: 5-6" groups at 10 yards vs 1" with the MGs.
  11. WooHooo! The Shadows are coming to the party!
  12. You could cut off everything but the pin, or if you want to leave the lever to cover the hole, just cut it back far enough so it doesn't protrude through the frame.
  13. I've had the same issue with my thumb jamming into the front part of the mount.
  14. Don't let his modesty fool you, Mike's 6" is about perfect (except for the backward cocking serrations).
  15. Yes. Is that the reasoning? Maybe part of it, I think politics and inertia play a roll as well.
  16. Do you want the same ammo or the same PF? Because the same ammo will chrono faster through a longer barrel, that's one of the reasons to go 6" over 5", another is the longer sight radius. In my mind as long as you lighten the nose there's no downside, only upside to a 6" gun.

Shadows fetch a premium because they're Production legal without a firing pin block and because they have upgrades, including the sights, but if you're shooting Open with it, you don't need the sights nor need to be Production legal. It's just a suggestion if you want to save a little money.
  18. do you take your smartphone with you to poop? Who doesn't?!?
