Naturally that's a subjective question, but here are a few things as I see them: -ergonomics -slide in frame design allows a higher grip without interference with the slide -higher beaver tail puts the bore axis lower in the hand reducing muzzle flip -half the price As a concession: the CZ 9/40s are small framed which limited the OAL when compared to large frame 2011s.

The rail on the SP01 adds weight in front mitigating muzzle flip Making it more pleasant to shoot and easier to shoot quickly. Another difference is the expended beaver tail on the SP01; I have big hands (10" between pinky and thumb) and the short beaver tail of the 75B digs into the top if my hand when I take a high grip. Accuracy/trigger pull are the same. The Shadow models have upgraded sights, extended controls and no firing pin block safety; they're available with and without the rail. If you have the chance I recommend the SP01

It's possible but would be difficult, if I were to attempt such an abomination I would change the sear and hammer to the stock 75B pieces, install a Tanfoglio sear spring and a 22# hammer spring. You would also need to make trigger modifications to get enough travel to release the longer hammer hooks. Here are some simpler suggestions: - a stock CZ75B SA - the trigger will be ~4# right out of the box - an SP01 converted to SAO - same trigger, but a heavy dust cover closer to the TS - an EAA Match or Limited - very similar heft and ergonomics an out of the box the triggers are 4-5# - dry fire the TS a lot and fall in love with the sub 2# trigger

It's a real hassle to get a 2011 style optic mount centered over the slide, so I recommend a Czechmate mount (Matt Cheely used to make one, but I don't see it on his site anymore) or a Tanfoglio one, choose your hole pattern carefully because you'll be stuck with it!, mag wells, bases, etc. come from CZ Custom: http://czcustom.com/cz75magwellidpa.aspx

Nope, although I will say doing the work yourself (gradually) allows you to tune the pistol To your natural point of aim. Try this: draw with your eyes closed then open them, are your sights aligned? I repeated that exercise over and over again as I removed more metal, now it just aims itself ETA: I didn't end up taking any metal from the beaver tail, all from the trigger guard YMMV.
