  1. Thanks for the heads up wide45, I'll make sure the price is right
  2. We've got a winner!!! Fits in a Glock 9mm perfectly; hmmm now I just need to buy a Glock Open gun to go with it...
  3. I think you have the overtravel screw too tight, try backing it off a hair. As a rule I depress the trigger fully, then work the hammer back and forth with my thumb and if I can feel it contacting the sear I back it off more.
  4. I'm just still butthurt about Amidon telling me chop shot artists like me can't shoot Production with the guns we have, because we need to spend four times as much on the exact same gun because it came out of the factory that way. Wasn't the Production division created for a safe haven from the arms race? I guess it's not the money that bothers me so much (after all, I do have more money in CZ75 pattern pistols than most people have in their cars ) it's just the arbitrary nature of the rulings. For example: an SP01 Shadow is an SP01 minus the firing pin block plus about $200 in upgrades (sights, safeties, mag release), yet an SP01 costs under $600 new and the market price for a used SP01 Shadow is somewhere in the $1,300-$1,600 all because it came from the factory without a firing pin block instead of the user removing it.
  5. Unintended consequences of the "Production" Division
  6. Not let (I don't have any) but I work across the street from the Glock Store so I'll give it a try.
  7. I use a die because I don't have a lathe.
  8. I didn't mean to imply the brass was thicker, just 2mm longer.
  9. I only shoot local matches so I have a pretty good idea what to expect (shots longer than 20-30 yards are extremely rare) so my sights are all right on at 10 yards and I can shoot at any target with confidence.
  10. You might think this is a flashlight, but think again! This is my new coffee thermous, it holds two ounces of piping hot Starbucks mocha latte.
  11. What a terrible analogy Moto, a beer keg is a beer keg regardless of what you put in it. It's called reporposing not recycling.
  12. I've got some, how's $20 each? How many would you like?
  13. I like that idea round gun shooter, but I would rather see a subforum in the USPSA rules section here where members simply cut and paste email responses from John. Here's a slightly different idea: what if there was a request for ruling email form on the USPSA website and answers would be given in a solt of FAQ section?
  14. Exactly the same load will produce the same results in 9x19 9x21 is just more brass, not more OAL.
  15. Under a thousand bucks to!!! Hinderland is sold out of 9s too.
  16. First off lawboy, you're inferring the intent of the rule where none is stated: the rule doesn't say anything about why lights are prohibited, just that they are prohibited. Secondly the gun analogy is an apt one for the reason you described: there is no way for a bystander to know the light emitting capability of a light.
  17. Tell me about it?!? How does it compare to your regular load (whatever that is)?
  18. That would be a compensator, and a terrible one at that. Trust me, I'm an expert on shitty compensators If you want to shoot with a dot and a comp so bad, why not shoot an Open gun???
  19. I propose the rule be changed to "electronic devices are prohibited" but as it stands I agree with Sarge, a flashlight is a flashlight whether it works or not. The rule says no flashlights, it doesn't say you can't shine light on targets. If you mount a piece of pipe on your gun and fill it with lead it's a pipe filled with lead; if you mount a flashlight, remove the batteries/bulb and fill it with lead it's a flashlight which doesn't emit light, but it's still a flashlight. If Amidon said a flashlight is not a flashlight once you remove the bulb he's not being very rationally consistent with the rulings he's given me in the past...
