  1. Yes, remove the elevation screw and flip the center of the sight up, should be two 3mm screws.
  2. Synthetic automatic transmission fluid
  3. I'll agree with that. I could be wrong, but I would imagine EG just farms out the machining work to a local machinist like Henning did (does?). So if that's the case, it would just be a matter of Eric moving to the US; whether or not he needs to become a US citizen, that I don't know. My buddy's girlfriend is a citizen of the UK and has been living here on "temporary" visas for ~10 years.
  4. Like Tanfoglio, EAA, Armscore? I'd love to see Tanfoglio with a great supplier in the US as much as anyone, but I don't think Tanfoglio, EAA and Armscor are quite in the league CHA-LEE is talking about Try searching Google maps for the corporate headquarters of those three, then compare it to the 40+ buildings Qualcomm owns in San Diego. Here's EAA: Awe inspiring isn't it?
  5. I've only shot about 300 rounds so far, it is just my initial impression was that, yes as a gawker watching someone shoot open, the guns are obnoxious but was under the impression it was less obnoxious as the shooter. It is less but I was surprised at the very real smack in the head pressure wave. It was hard not to blink for the first 80-100 rounds. A 9mm with no holes is much more pleasant to shoot.
  6. I'm new to open. I have a pretty bread and butter 5" open gun, it's a trubor T2 with brazos side ports and two holes in the barrel. I didn't know I was concussion sensitive till I started shooting this gun(9.8 of 3n38 with a 124g bullet). It is seriously off putting for me and I am honestly not sure I am going to be able to overcome it. Do you have any powder recommendations for wimps like me? seriously? You can always run less powder with a heavier bullet (it'll be softer, but with more muzzle rise), either that or plug the holes in the barrel.
  7. WOW, that would be huge! Where did you hear it? credible source?
  8. Four months later and this still hasn't made it to the top of the projects list...
  9. Interesting... Does it fill the case more? It seems like it would be a good powder for 9mm as well, but I've not heard much about people using it for nine. I use 9.3 gr of SP2, and since VV says 3n38 is the same (or close enough) as SP2, I imagine it would take much less n350... If I understand correctly you're saying n350 is softer than 3n38, right?
  10. A more heavily sprung gun will be more forgiving of rought spots in the action; if you want your gun to run with light springs you need to smooth it out wherever you can. It's amazing how different a really smooth action feels when shooting.
  11. I'm really surprised these charge weights are so low, are your charges higher for 3n38?
  12. IPSC Production has more stringent rules on which parts you can upgrade, perhaps someone more familiar can chime in, but if you have hard primers and can install an extended firing pin, it will definitely help. I use an 11.5# hammer spring and can light off most primers although I've never tried the hardest of them.
  13. Is that a question for me Stuart?
  14. Also the beavertail has a more subtle undercut on the large frame pistols.
  15. The large frame 9/40 mags have a spacer, old ones at the front, new ones on the rear. Small frame mags are... well... smaller Large Frame Mags measure: 1.345" x 0.850". Small Frame Mags measure: 1.250" x 0.800".
  16. We can make excuses, we can do mental gymnastics to make them right, but the reality is that everyone is wrong sometimes. As I found out with the barrel lengths, even if you prove they're wrong, admit they're wrong, promise to change and still don't...
  17. CZC and CZ USA advertise 5.4", although CZ UB (the actual manufacturer advertises 130mm, which equals 5.1", which matches reality. Don't take my word for it, get out your ruler and see for yourself.
  18. The advantage of the Shadow is it's lack of a firing pin block, if you're using this pistol for Limited its legal to remove the firing pin block giving you essentially the same gun for hundreds less.
  19. Speaking of specifications, have you ever compared the barrel lengths advertised by CZC and CZ USA vs CZ UB and reality?
  20. Horizontal Cmore on the frame, big lens, dot closest to the slide and always where you want it to be
  21. Weighed my bone stock TS 9mm: 41.9 oz empty, 46.2 with 140mm mag. Maybe it's a typo? I'd imagine the CTS weighs 44 oz with mag.
  22. Anyone have this "Shadow Line" trigger? is it the "old style" or the new? http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0420011005_Trigger-Shadow-Line ETA: Never mind I'm pretty sure it's the new style.
  23. Am I the only guy with a dozen Tanfoglios who's never heard of a "LSPA block" before?
