  1. I've had very good luck with the 139 grain interlocks over Varget out of a Weatherby Vanguard. They worked very well on a Wyoming Antelope hunt last fall.
  2. I hadn't seen those before, they look interesting. I'm sure the rifle in the video was just for install demonstration, but it seems odd to be mounting them on a rifle already equipped with a red dot and FSB. May have some applications for short range shots in 3Gun. Off to do more looking at them.
  3. There are several clubs in NW Oregon that have 3 Gun and USPSA matches on a regular basis. Welcome, and come out and join us soon!
  4. The last time I had this issue on my 550 the shell plate was loose. Now I check it regularly. I load using mixed brass and see ~+/-.005
  5. So I hit up the local Sportsmans Warehouse to actually look through both the Tac30 and the MTAC. My vision of what the reticle would be was way off. The whole thing is more or less a red spot on 1x, and on 4x it's still pretty small. Everyone is spot on regarding the illumination switch on the Tac30. I don't know if I could get used to the reticle or not after years of traditional crosshairs. As for a mount, Larue or ADM are nice, but at 2 bills give or take it wouldn't make sense to pair one of them with the budget scopes discussed in this thread. I was thinking more along the lines of the SWFA S.S.A.L.T. 30mm Scope Mount or the Vortex Cantilever 30mm Ring Mount both less than $100. I shoot Tac Ops so the option to mount a red dot isn't important. After reading this thread, I was seriously considering an MTAC. After looking through it at the store, I'm thinking I'll keep saving my lunch money for the Vortex.
  6. I'm certianly no expert, but there are several factors that COULD explain some of this. Modifications and upkeep. It sort of reminds me of the Glock reliability threads - there are two camps, it runs and runs vs, it fails in xyz way. When you really dig in, the 100% reliable are stock or nearly so. The ones that don't have either been significantly modded, or not maintained. I don't have a dog in the fight - I have a Benelli M2 that was originally bought for hunting, and now does double duty for the few 3gun shoots I can get to, and it just runs.
  7. From Optics Planet, with mount? Current price shows $479.99, with the 10% off thats ~$432? Just curious, as this thread has me interested in one as well. Not a real fan of the PEPR mount looks though. Anybody have other suggestions? QD isn't important for me.
  8. Likely no as it has to fit in "the box". Also, there is a weight limit in production. I've never seen it enforced, and several folks shooting production at the club level in our area run brass +0 basepads. However, having weighed my G17, I suspect that using these would put it over weight. For Glock, there isn't much wiggle room on the weight requirement - at least there isn't on mine which is bone stock except for some grip tape.
  9. I've shot a ton of Aguila new from the factory, and it now makes up the bulk of the brass I am reloading. I've had zero issues with it. Shooting minor pf through a glock 17.
  10. Gabby Franco, and yes she shoots uspsa. Quite a few videos of that on her YouTube channel.
  11. If you look at the area 1 web page you will see links to the two match hotels used for that. I stayed in st George at the country inn and suites. Clean, reasonable and a short drive. It was also close to food, etc. hope that helps!
  12. When my last case of Montana gold 124s showed up the mail person knocked on the door and asked for assistance! She asked, what's in the box that's so dang heavy? At least they made it as far as the driveway and I was home. I'm guessing I'd have had to pick them up at the post office which would have been a pain.
  13. Finally! Scored a case of the 9mm 124 jhp. Odd that they would come into stock on a Sunday morning, but I'll take it. Now, if only some powder would come back in stock....
  14. Lots of good tips in this thread. I too have struggled with pulling shots left. Today in a live fire practice I tried several of the ideas, the one in bold helped the most. By the end of the session I was shooting smaller, more accurate groups than I have in a long time. Thanks to everyone you posted on this one - good stuff all.
  15. I give up. Found the cases of 124 gr JHP in stock this morning. Added to cart, hit send order and OOS. Golf is looking better and better.
  16. To the op-I feel your pain! Many of us in the same boat as you.
  17. From the webpage (can't help on finishing times) - See your current squadding here: https://clubs.practiscore.com/2013-uspsa-area-1-championship/squadding Schedule Wed -CRO/staff briefing 0930. Final stage set thru 11:30 Wed - first shots 12:00PM wed. Thu - first shots, 0800. Fri/Sat/Sun AM/PM/AM - 0800 / 12:00 / 0800 PM/AM/AM - 1200 / 0800 / 1100
  18. Before we give up on "them" we should look at ourselves. While it would seem to be helpful to post in stock notices on forums, I'm starting to be of the opinion it is making the situation worse. Instead of folks finding it a few at a time everyone rushes at once. My only hope at this point is that those with all the time to snatch stuff up at the drop of the hat will get their fill so others can get a shot. I've lost track of how much time I've spent trying to catch stuff in stock to miss by minutes or seconds.
  19. Starting load info for 115 or 124 gr fmj? Alliant doesn't 9mm info for this powder at least that I could see.
  20. This is starting to get frustrating, I've been checking the MG site, this thread and have email notifications on the MG page and the 9mm come in stock and sell out before I can act. Aargh, ready for some normalcy to return for components......
  21. Makes me even more disappointed that the class out here in the PNW I signed up for got moved.....to a weekend I have to work, and can't change. I was looking forward to the class, it sounds like it would have been good. Maybe next year.
  22. You can also ship it to the match director. I contacted him for the address, and sent it to myself, in care of him. You can then pick it up at registration. This is the part of the match I'm most nervous about actually. With the scarcity of ammunition, you wouldn't be able to replace it if it was lost. I'm also going to take the allowed 11# with me on the plane. It wouldn't be enough for the whole match, but it would be something as back-up.
  23. Starting yesterday, when browsing the forums using tapatalk, I can't bring up anything but the first "page" of a thread. Using either the next or previous buttons makes no difference. It acts like it is moving pages, but merely reloads page 1. Same in all sub forums. Does not do this on other forums regardless of if i am a registered member. Only on the benos forum??
