  1. Saw it yesterday, thought it rocked. Daniel Craig is BADA$$....(not to mention has awesome abs) as Bond. Will not mind watching it again.
  2. Again, congratulations Kay! You did an awesome job. Thanks for the vote of confidence, guys, but unfortunately, I couldn't quite pull it off this time. I gotta find an 'off' switch for this brain of mine. But otherwise, I can't really complain. There was just an incredible field of competitors out there. I am happy with the knowledge that we will definitely have a great pool of talented ladies to choose from to make up the US ladies team for the next world shoot. Congrats to all the ladies! (and yeah, the guys too...)
  3. If you had moobs (man boobs. i will not dignify breasts.... ), I'm pretty sure the women in this forum will be more than happy to give you certain "guidelines"
  4. And boobs are not the answer to EVERYTHING!!!! (And don't be saying it's the ONLY thing because I will have Chuck Norris roundhouse kick you until all your teeth fall off!)
  5. My 2 cents.... This December is going to be my 15th year shooting competitively. It took moving to another country (which happened on my 11th) to get sponsors for myself and I actually look at it from THEIR perspective in terms of target market, product, etc. I hate saying this but unfortunately, #1, there is only less than 10% of women in this sport...I don't have the exact figures but it's few compared to the men. If I were the business owner, of course I would target the bigger chunk of the market to sell my product. sad but true. #2, let's face it, our sport is politically not correct so there goes the corporate sponsors like Rolex, Nike, etc. There is no way you're gonna see ANY of our sponsored people with guns gracing the pages of mass market magazines and publications #3 Coverage. Media or whatever. Again, back to the gun issue. I don't mean to sound negative but I have tried. It's doubly hard for a woman because not only do you have to beat the women to get noticed, you got to beat the men but how can you do that without having to give up work and have someone support you to do that? It's a which-one-comes-first-the-chicken-or-the-egg kind of deal. Make no mistake, I am very grateful for my sponsors and what they have done to help me but it's a business for them first and foremost. And I understand that so I gratefully take what I can and just have fun shooting. Once you start doing that for a living, it's not fun anymore with all the pressure and it defeats the purpose of why you started shooting in the first place.
  6. My turn!!!! First of all, I just want to congratulate Kay on her 5th World Speed Shooting Championship (otherwise known as Steel Challenge). She was true to her word as kicked butt and took names and finished in the top 16 amidst a sea of very impressive shooters. The theme was no fear and she shot the match fearlessly. I was 8 seconds behind finishing 2nd. I was pretty content with it considering all the pre-match stress I had to put up with. Congratulations, Kay! That was really awesome. I shall try again next year
  7. Anybody seen Miami Vice yet? I saw it last night and it made me want to kick Colin Farrell in the n*ts. I can't believe I paid 8.50 to watch it, stayed up till 1am AND finished the whole dang thing. There were only two things in there that made it worth watching. The girl who shot the guy in the head and the gun fight scene in the end. Oh and yeah, the Ferrari.
  8. Was too busy gaping at him throughout the movie to know what was going on. Gotta watch it again to find out what it's about... Seriuosly, I liked it. It was good entertainment. I was expecting some deep "Batman-like" thought-provoking (or something close) stuff to happen but I got reminded that this was Superman. Once I got past that, I enjoyed the movie.
  9. Thanks, guys and gals! Kay, that was a lot of fun. We should do it again sometime. At this match, me and Kay were doing a little experiment on pushing our limits. I think we got a little too carried away because I was dropping points like there was no tomorrow but it was exhilirating. There's no rush like pushing yourself almost to the edge. But, as always, I learned a lot in this match. Hopefully, I'll retain it (more than I retain water) and apply it to the next match. We didn't quite make it to a Master score as we had hoped but it was more of operator error (brain farts here and there, gun problem). Not that shooting 10 stages in one day helped, either but we are confident that it CAN be done. Even with Max shooting his annoyingly, insanely fast runs. We figured if Kay and I combined all our best runs at this match, we'd make it. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. But it's only a matter of time (and a lot of practice...whew) Next stop, Steel Challenge!
  10. The "A" zone is a lot bigger than either the C or D zone (well, width-wise). It's really difficult to aim for D's but somewhow we hit 'em most of the time (unless it's 3 yards away and then we need to get slapped). I've always said speed is relative. What may be fast for one guy may not be for the next guy and so on. Speed is how fast you can shoot your alphas, as my daddy always said (I don't know where he got that from, though). And here's another one, Take your time (shooting A's) quickly. I started out being so painfully and agonizingly slow but I was accurate. My dad drilled that into me when I was just but a wee lad many, many years ago. Accuracy and speed, I liken that to driving on a highway with many curves, on manual transmission, might I add. You know when to shift to a lower gear when you get to hairpin curves, you know when to accelerate when it's straight. I'm not THAT fast but I ain't slow either. It's just a gradual process of knowing who you are and what you can do. And it's an ongoing process of learning what you can do and what a little push can do for you. Hope that made some sense. (I need more coffee....)
  11. >sigh< I was so looking forward to watching this movie and when I did, I was terribly disappointed (and actually spitting mad). The movie is good...from a marketing standpoint. But they just changed the story and characters so much from the comic book that I was just open-mouthed through out the movie. Dark Phoenix, split personality????? I almost fainted in disbelief. I was a die-hard X-Men fan in the early 90's. And I guess it was my fault for having such huge expectations going into the movie theater. When Wolverine was giving his speech about them being outnumbered, I thought they were all going to group hug after that. I was just really really disappointed.
  12. Yes! It works great for me! No pressure signs, no nothing on my 9 major. It's all good! Thanks, Ivan!

  14. Tightloop, In case you didn't know, my middle name is HAM....(with cheese)... Vincent, Duuuude, you sooo totally have your earmuffs on...duuddde...
  15. Great match! It keeps getting better each year. Congrats to the staff and to everyone who got rained on, mud on, bug-bitten (oh, wait, that's just me), and everybody who worked so hard to make this match possible. Dave, I still need 0.49% to make M...I'm pretty happy where I am right now I didn't have to work, I was shooting, I was surrounded by great people. Can't get any better than that!
  16. Cool pix, Dave! =) at least it's not just a picture of my hands and my gun anymore Sharyn, cool video! Chet, was a pleasure shooting with you. Did a great job on the 05 video. Can't wait for the 06 video. It was cool. lastly,.......I need to learn more adjectives other than "cool"....
  17. Thanks, Kay! I honestly went into this match hoping you wouldn't kick my butt (like you soundly did last weekend) too badly. I was very surprised with the results. Thanks very much for the kind and inspiring words. It was a pleasure to shoot with you and Jerry, as always. You too, Roy. That was fun. I know Area 6 next weekend will be fun too Btw, I have Jerry and Renee's plaques and Jerry's Montana Gold Gift Certificates that he won. Will be bringing it over sometime. Again, thanks!
  18. I saw this on Walton and Johnson's Website. Thought it was really cute.
  19. ....you wear shoes when you dry fire at home because magazines have squished your toes too many times... ....you have permanent grease/powder residue stains on your shirts from wiping your cmore..... Addendum to knowing you're a female shooter... ....guys who pretend to know how to shoot and then proceed to hold the gun incorrectly turns you off (no matter how cute they are)... ....during the off season you have nice long manicured nails, during shooting season, you don't have nails.... ...you have a certain pair of (longer) shorts to use when going prone (learned this the hard way)...
  20. +1 for Sharyn and also for Jake for being so secure with his manhood....hypothetically and literally...wait, that didn't sound right....
  21. That's really funny. Green IS definitely your color, Jake
  22. And also don't forget all those kidnapping threats and whatnots. That's what got my dad into shooting in the first place because someone was trying to extort money from him. Pretty much threatened his life and ours if he didn't give them "protection" money. So he went out bought a gun started shooting, found out about IPSC, Steel, etc., liked it and had me shooting four years later. If you live in the southern part, if you're chinese and have a business, you're pretty much on the "must kidnap" list. It's difficult to rely on Filipino law enforcement so we pretty much take matters into our own hands, protection-wise, I mean.
  23. I always stock up on pinipig, ube and special whenever I go to San Jose. I miss Goldilocks ensaymada too. I hope they consider branching out to Houston.
