  1. Very true, when it was on my dad's bench that turret was loaded up with all the decap dies as he would decap everything and then walnut tumble them. I'm now wet tumbling everything before I even sort the range brass and the turret is loaded up with 9mm and 40 sets right now... Not sure how I might utilize it after I get a 650 tho...
  2. exactly what it is. I guess you can call it "cool" but I would rather have a 550 or 650 on the bench (or some other flavor progressive) 650 w/ case & bullet feed is in my plans, and then I can trade out the case trays all over the bench for hundro gauges =)
  3. Just back from the range here, looks like my 40 ammo will need to be loaded shorter then 1.350" to work in the ETS mags, with 10 in the mag I was having rounds getting hung up and causing failure to feed. This was with eggleston munitions 180gn. My 9mm mags ran fine tho.
  4. I'm running a Wolff competition spring kit in my gen 3 G35 w/ a LWD - connector (blue box gun so it came w/ a "5.5lb" trigger stock) and I'm running in to the same issue, even w/ the stock trigger spring the trigger won't reset to engage the safety with the kits 4lb sear spring. I did read a older thread that mentions to check the slide stop where it touches the trigger and insure that its not bent from the trigger pin being hit with something or that the spring is bend adding drag to the trigger. I really need to check that on mine (which I forgot about until right now lol) or order a 4.5lb spring. (or just order a 4.5 and 5lb sear spring so I have them on hand anyways)
  5. Odd about the rounds getting stuck, I had the same thing happen with the 140 the first time I loaded it, not sure what the rounds measured at tho, they are Federal Tactical hollow points (factory LE loads) seemed more like the follower got stuck or one round got wedged oddly, had about 6 in it, 5 of them just fell out then I smacked the mag on the desk to get the last round and the follower to go
  6. I just got a couple of ETS mags myself. Have yet to take them to the range yet but I do have them stuffed full to set the springs. 1 Standard mag w/ TTI pad w/ 20 in it and the 140 w/ 19 stuffed in it, I also load to 1.135 w/ eggs and blue bullets but I didn't have any blues loaded currently (*whines about needing a XL650) ETA: from my pics you can see why you can stuff 20 in the standard+TTI extension, more room for the spring with the flat base, I doubt that I could get 20 in the 140 ETS mag, the 20 w/ extension you need to seat it like you mean it, the 140 w/ 19 didn't seem as bad Other mags on the table are 2x 140 9mm, 1 of the 170mm 9mm and 2x standard G17 ETS w/ Dawson extensions... untested as well
  7. Bench? damn spoiled people... =) really this was a temp setup I was using while I had my reloading room ripped apart, its a old midway portable reloading stand that I added a plywood top to w/ t-tracks (oh and a DIY 3/4" plywood "strong mount") Where I am set up now, presses on the bench depend on what I'm messing with, tho I really just need to get a XL650 =)
  8. The maxxtech isn't as bad seeing that it will stop the loader, IMO this crap is worse, seems to like to separate at the ledge IMT and FM stamped crap
  9. I've been cleaning up after the local outlaw multi gun matches and along the pistol range line the days I'm out there practicing. It doesn't seem to take long to mass a decent amount. This is just this years pick ups, I still have about 2.5 gallons of 9mm that need to be cleaned out of my stash, the guy I shoot with has another 5 gallon bucket full of 9mm as well (45 I have a full 5 gallons, and about 2.5 gallons of 40... and a load of 223) I think right now we have about 4-5 night spent sorting all of this brass out Cleaning done with a electric concrete mixer, some blue dawn, few spoon full of citric acid and 5lbs of SS pins
  10. Just realized that my feedback might not be as helpful seeing I'm running a G35 gen3 but the .270 extended uncaptured rod went in with no issues with the 14lb Wolff spring
  11. Well, seeing that most glock mags are polymer and only the feed lips are bare I don't see why it wouldn't hold up
  12. Well, thats a good reason to shoot them up, in the mean time check out the other coated bullet company and maybe pick up some sample packs and play with some load work ups to see what feels good and what the gun likes before you run out of the free bullets. Nice to have all the leg work done ahead of time vs going oh crap I have 50rds left and a shoot coming up, like me, shoot tomorrow night and no loads worked up, one win white box left and a bunch of factory tactical loads that I really don't want to use up.
  13. Pics like I said... Link to full sized images http://imgur.com/a/yyKGT
  14. or sooner http://www.larue.com/larue-tactical-tac … Larue MBT are on sale today (limited time probably) for $99
  15. Something like this maybe? http://milspecmonkey.com/store/pouches-panels/106-msm-loop-panels.html
  16. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2193453 I linked the motor in my post, or you can find them on eBay for about $17
  17. I might have one of these on my bench right now, just printed it out over the last 2 days, it works, but needs work... I'm looking at doing a full do over of it in solid works with a 9mm, 40, 45 and 223 plate and drop tube for the 223, I might play with using the same size unit as a pistol case feed for the hell of it as well. Motor from >amazon< that mostly lined up with the motor holes and runs at 5 rpm just feed it 12v and it worked great when I was playing with it tonight. I'm also looking at trying it with a smaller right angle 12v DC gear motor.
  18. I see it as extra weight for my scrap bucket...
  19. on a semi auto pistol you also have barrel fit/lockup that can effect group size as well
  20. magpul now makes a polymer magwell with a msrp of $25, when mine arrives later this week I'll get some pics of it installed on my G35 gen3 and w/ factory mag base and extended, they are listed for gen3 but I hear w/ no back strap on the g4 it fits, may need some fitting but its polymer so its not hard to file down
  21. Waiting on my .270 extended rod for my G35 to arrive so I can give feedback to how it fits, which I hope is soon seeing my 9mm conversion won't run without a different spring
  22. the base 650 is my planned route, many vids on youtube of diy case feeders so that $200 saved there, DIY bullet feeders are out there as well as 3d printed ones for more cost savings. Right now I have 2 single stages and a SDB in 45 ACP, going 650 because I plan to be loading 9, 40, 45, 223 at the least on it, plus 223 case prep (trimming) For those who don't know, the base 650 comes with the shell feed, just missing the automatic powered collator
  23. and a case feeder, and a Mr bullet feeder (or DIY both) and a hundo gauge block =) XL650 is on the top of my things to buy list, wet tumbler is few items down....
  24. I'm running a rock river 2 stage NM trigger in my AR, will hopefully finding out how nice the LT MBT is soon (Have a 260 tOBR on order)
  25. XTP are a bit spendy, IMO I would look at some of the coated options. I'm in the same boat as you (sort of) just getting in to USPSA, but not new to loading. For instance you could go on >>shooters connection<< and get 500 bullets for a few bucks more then what 200 of the Hornady XTP are going to cost you. ETA: (just used that link because I had them open in another tab already)
