  1. Buddy of mine and I have been helping clean up all the brass at our local range's outlaw multi gun matches, in less then 3 months we have about 15 gallons of .223, 7 gallons of 9mm, about 3 gallons of 40, and a handful of .45. I already load on a single stage for rifle ammo and Dillon SDB for 45 acp, Granted that he has also been stopping by the range and has been savaging (with RSO permission) and I usually ask everyone at the matches if they want any brass to let me know. Next step in our plan is to have him chip in some $$ towards a Dillon 650 I'm getting and start loading up a stock pile of 9mm 223 for both of us to use up at the multi gun shoots and a pile of 40 for my limited setup (G35 that I am going to run w/ 9mm conversion for multi gun)
  2. This is how it starts, next thing you know you will have 5 gallon buckets full of brass sorted by caliber
  3. Welcome to the board, I might have to take you up on a trip to the 1000yd sometime I have a 300 win mag thats never been past 200yds And that diy case feeder is pretty impressive, I was actually looking at going with a Dillon 650 so I don't have to figure out the case to shell plate feed, but planning on a DIY case collator and bullet collator, for the bullet collator I found a 3d printed model to try out, if the case feed on the LnL seems to be too much to DIY maybe adding just the bullet feed might be a good route, one less step when pulling the handle.
  4. Thanks for the offer, finally picked up my G35 yesterday and borrowed a couple 9mm mags from a friend to function check the 9mm conversion this afternoon and will be picking up my order of ETS mags next week from a friend in VA. I'll probably be stopping in TMGN next Thursday to check the match out and watch, still need to order bullets for 9/40 and do load development and get a 650 Dillon on order =) quick question for the TMGN shooters, whats the average round count for the night?
  5. I just got a Alpha Wolf conversion barrel from LWD yesterday for my g35, with factory 9mm I have laying around the chamber doesn't seem tight. Quality seems ok, won't know about the fit/lockup till Tuesday after I pick the g35 up. I don't have any coated bullets to see if the barrel throat is short or not for long loading (not that I plan to load long). Somewhat same plan as the OP here, run my g35 w/ 9mm for local outlaw 3gun matches and steel shoots to save component costs and make reloading sessions easier Also: on the LWD site for the Alpha wolf barrels they note that they will not do any chamber mods to them due to the coating on the barrels. I should have asked about the GT hole but forgot to when I ordered.
  6. + one to this, I'm getting ready to add a 650 to my bench and was looking at the Swage It or the GS customs "The Answer" swager due to having a large amount of crimped 223/556 brass to load
  7. Thanks! sounds fun, I love shooting steel except that I won't be picking up my G35 next Tuesday and my other gun to shoot would be my p220 .45 single stack, 40-50 rd stages means I need way more then the 4 mags (5 if I count the POS pro-mag that doesn't drop free) I currently have lol. I'm still getting my belt rig ordered as well so I'll have to keep the higher round count in mind as I'm getting it together. Damn, also need a trip to VA to pick up mags for the G35 .40 and a bunch of 9mm mags for the conversion barrel I'm getting ($&%& Maryland). Also in the process of building a kydex taco press to save myself some $$$ in mag holders...
  8. Another Maryland noob (to USPSA shooting anyways) here, looks like I might have to check out the TMGN shoots sometime soon
  9. Thanks for the welcome, I'm mostly in the right direction, with some small mistakes , like that 9rd tube on the shotgun... I figured out the day after it shipped that a 10rd would have been a better pick, RCI even called me and tried to talk me in to the 10rd and I didn't quite understand at the time why. Next day after watching some 3 gun vids on youtube and and reading some rules it hit me, 8 in the tube off the start, 10rd w/ +2 extension = quad load on the shotgun at the start of the run, guess I have to deal with 7 in the tube on the start depending on stage planning... DOH And I'm definitely enjoying the forums here, lots of good helpful info. I currently blame the reloading section for the Dillon 650 that I now want to order to go between the rock chucker and the SDB .45 press I have now
  10. Been lurking here for a while and have been wanting to get in to the competitive action shooting for a while now and have recently starting shooting at my clubs (AGC in Baltimore) multi-gun shoots. Not new to shooting, but somewhat new to the action side of things. I shoot on bullseye league weekly at the same club, and occasionally trap to keep my shotgun skills up =) Right now I'm shooting with not quite the right gear for gaming but I'm in the process of putting together a limited rig for a G35 I'm picking up soon, currently I'm running a Sig P220 .45 (thank god I reload lol), a police trade in Beretta 1200FP that I am converting in to a hybrid with benelli M2 parts (9rd mono tube and 24" M2 barrel/forend) And a franken-AR that I assembled years ago which is a dpms lower, rock river 2 stage NM trigger, rock river heavy 16" SS mid-length (over)gas(ed) system, Troy/Vtac Alpha free float and currently a 1.5-5x scope (looking at replacing this with a Holosun Paralow HS503G RDS - ACSS reticle) Looking forward to trying USPSA match soon as I get my G35 rig together and tested
  11. With the rise in remote control FPV (first person view video) flying, I'm betting someone could DIY something like this for $150 or less with some shopping around 7" LCD monitor which are about $40 on amazon CCTV security camera $10-30, I would go with a used box cam with adjustable zoom lens and auto iris off eBay 32CH 5.8G 600mw Wireless Audio Video AV TX FPV TS5828 Transmitter Module USA - $18 ebay FPV 5.8G AV video Receiver RX W/ LED Channel Display RC832 32CH RP-SMA - $20 eBay Aomway 5.8GHz 6dBi Flat Patch Directional FPV Antenna RHCP SMA & RPSMA 2pc Set -ebay $18 (should give better range for the 5.8ghz signal, high frequency needs open line of sight, but for target cam that shouldn't be a issue and a power source at each end, route I would go owning lots of power tools is using my Milwaukee M18 + one of the power adapters for the heated jackets (puts out 12v + 5v usb) or cheap sealed lead acid (12v 7ah) and a battery tender to slow charge them at home This is just a rough/dirty list that I just tossed together, there are other video frequencies that would cost a little more (2.4ghz, 1.3ghz) and different antenna setups that would also preform better, like crosshair type or wifi flat panel high gain at the receiver and circular polarized at the transmitter
