  1. From Sarge: "The usual way to get cheap powder and primers is online in a bulk order." And therefore everyone who is doing this is who is causing the problem. I know people who have gone from buying enough to load 1000 - 3000 at a time to loading 10k at a time with at least a 30-100k stock pile ;'). "From Powder Valley" Just a couple facts regarding powder sales over the past few years. Keep in mind that less than 1% of our sales are to the government. Sales of powder were relatively flat in 2010 and 2011 so those are my basis years. Sales of powder increased 70% in 2012 and another 58% in 2013 which makes sales volume in 2013 a 268% increase over 2011. I know there are a lot of people who believe that the government is somehow buying up all the powder or restricting US supplies. But here are some simple facts that you can review and come up with your own conclusion. I'm willing to answer most questions and thank Chuck May for asking this question.
  2. I just had a MP 9 Pro with AEK trigger do the same thing. Also, if you use the FSS trigger with the AEK USB you will have a timing issue and the strikers will destroy themselves. Apex used to have two different USB to accommodate this issue. There is a new USB for the FSS trigger instead of the flat one mentioned above. Now Apex now has a redesign USB that works with both the AEK and FSS trigger. No need to have different USB's for the different lowers or triggers. In addition, using slow motion photography and a cut way Apex has seen that when the weapon is fired the striker comes back under recoil and the pressure for the cartridge, the USB is back down and it hammers it self back and forth a few times in between each shot which will cause wear.
  3. I guess I missed that one...... I would rather find a better, smaller, magwell for non-USPSA uses.
  4. Do 10-8 Base pads work with SSS ESP MP Magwell? Anyone know of a smaller MP mag well, maybe half the size of the SSS. I know there are some, like the Rogers, for the Glock but looking for the MP for CC.
  5. Can't seem to find them, or any other for that matter. Someone has to make a suppressor sights for the MP????
  6. Depends what your using the weapon for. The RMR with a 6.5 -8 MOA dot is great for a combat sight but not as much for a game gun. Like most, you'll find that your accuracy will improve but you'll be slightly slower than irons.
  7. Does Anyone Make a MP Suppressor / RMR Front Sight for the MP Full size, Pro or CORE with F/O or tritium?
  8. Theralkoop, that seems really odd and the opposite of what I had. I tried the .305 and found in to be really high as well as I had a ton of downward travel. Could have gone probably as far as .265. But before I made that change, I found that used for tactical use, racking the slide, racking the sight against the ground, walls, tables, holsters, belts, ect... I found with the downward movement of the sight it's would loosen itself so I replaced the adjustable with a fixed Warren U notch .140 . I don't really see any reason to really have an adjustable rear unless you are only bullseye shooting past 50 yards. For personal defense, USPSA, or IDPA the distances are too short to really worry about it. I can hit BC steel all day out to 200 yards. I also found the 10-8 to be better with the larger .060 F/O rod for the same width of front sight (.040 for Dawson) and the F/O set into the rear of the front sight giving a clear round outline of the dot as opposed to a round melted rod. 10-8 the way to go. If you want the corners of the rear site rounded for better visibility go with the Warren rears.
  9. I use a different OAL for the JHP and the JHP seems to be a little more accurate for me. For the JHP I use 4.4 N320 @1.120 = 132PF from MP 5". For the CMJ 1.130. The 124 CMJ @ 1.130 is the same as the JHP @ 1.117 The dif in the 147 to 124 JHP = .0605 and the 124 CMJ= .0475
  10. I bought the TT extensions and they are really nice. However, many on this thread have noted be able to remove them w/o tools but they have a socket head screw that locks down the pin which holds the bottom on the mag so how do you figure they are removable w/o tools? Unless..... you do not tighen the locking screw down?
  11. Thanks everyone just ordered both. Please delete this post.
  12. I'm Diabetic. I don't drink. Try again. Great, you got my point! have a great day!
  13. Bill T, your mistaken I do not want to argue at all and I never said that I have the credentials either a bit a mechanical engineering background. However, Markco does. You have been arguing with Markco someone who has much more credentials than yourself on a matter that, other than first hand experience, you have no legitimate knowledge of. And there are folks who have been drinking or driving for 42 years without an accident, maybe even yourself, but that does not make it safe or appropriate. Good day.
  14. Bill T, So.... now you want me to believe that you don't care anything about about cleaning processes that could cause problems and/or dezincification but you do examine down the .223 throat of each cartridge into the interior of every 223/556 that you have and inspect it for imperfections? Ya.... right. BTW, there are legal cases and you can find them. It is not anyones job to educate you. Your choices are well... your choices. Any who said it was SS media that causes it. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't just educate yourself and continue to make the best informed decisions without stating facts that you can't back-up or support with sufficient eduction, certification or the professional credentials and I learned early in UDT to have respect for those other folks as there is always smarter and more informed people than a tool and die maker.
  15. Bill T, I have ready your posts with..... well interest. "What I am saying is that it isn't enough of an issue to be of any significant worry to reloaders" Really? It seems to me that that will not be the case for those that are genuinely concerned to do things right, to the best of their ability to do so, and for their safety and for those around them. And of coarse, for the one, or two, that looses a hand, their eye sight or a body part, or to those that are cleaning and selling brass to others who should end up in court or in jail now doesn't it? Maybe one day be you... who knows? Is it worth it to you.... that's your call to make just like driving after having a beer or the other things you do that are also calculated risks which from your posts, my bet you also do. "If anything, I believe the Stainless Steel Media makes for SAFER brass, simply because it allows for viewing the slightest imperfection the case may have, on either the inside or outside. Normal ground corn cob cannot achieve this type of cleanliness. So Bill T, you can "see" dezincification and can tell, and rate, the structural soundness of metal from viewing the shiny exterior? Seems you may be confusing purely visual aesthetics to the structural soundness of the metal. BTW, what is your formal education, certifications, and background, that would hold up in court to a legal case that allows you to make such claims?
  16. Anyone know where one can find TAC? I need to load .556 for 3 gun and I'm out.
  17. Great thanks TT is it. I see they don't have any larger than the 5.
  18. Taran Tactical or Taylor Freelance Mag Extensions, Your Recommendations Looking to buy some mag extensions that will work with and without the SSS ESP mag well. Anyone used, or seen, both and can tell me the differences, pro's and con's please?
  19. What about the chemical properties of Simple Green? I know that in diving and mixed gas blending that we do the use of SG industrial (not the green but the clear) cleaner ( can order through Grander) is used for cleaning HP tanks and brass parts. What do you think about using SG instead of Dawn or detergents? SG is organic, detergent free and the manufacture recommends in for carbon. Mark, your thoughts.
  20. Read here on the risks of wet tumbling: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=166660&hl=%20stainless%20%20steel%20%20cleaning&st=0
  21. From Markco "you might want to do a little research on dezincification. Most of the cleaning agents used for wet tumbling cause dezincification so you would actually be weakening the brass and opening yourself up for liability since you are selling it. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call or drop me a note" See more on Wet tumbling, the risks, etc.... here : http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=166660&hl=%20stainless%20%20steel%20%20cleaning&st=0
  22. What about the chemical properties of Simple Green? I know that in diving and mixed gas blending that we do the use of SG industrial (not the green but the clear) cleaner ( can order through Grander) is used for cleaning HP tanks and brass parts. I have been doing a cleaning with SG prior to dry tumbling.
  23. Jaxshooter wants to trade 124g JHP bullets which in themselves are just as hard to get plus he can't ship and the 8 hour drive costs more than the powder. Otherwise, I would take it. I checked PV website but they show sold out.
