  1. I've been asking every holster maker I could find. Depends if you went traditional or not. If standard 1911, I'd order the five shot leather SME for AIWB.
  2. Sony. It's a better system, better video, better controller. I have a 360/PS3 and PS4 is the only way I'd go.
  3. I fully recommend the small time approach. Send a tub to the firearm blog, modern service weapons, the truth about guns.... get reviews. Costs you essentially nothing. Same with Sarge's idea. If you can get it as the defacto lube at matches, well. That's how guns get popular in the sport, why not lube?
  4. No sir....If you lighten the reciprocating mass (the slide) you will lessen the recoil, period. Worse does not necessarily mean more. I would say the .40 has /worse/ recoil than the .45, despite that there is less of it. Sharp stingy recoil sucks.
  5. How long can you hold a sight picture with that TS before it gets wobbly?
  6. I moved away from the CZ75 SP01 in part because of the weight, 20 rounds of 147 + FLDC is close to 50oz. Just too much for me... and now Brandon is telling me I should go with 42-44oz of gun, and it just seems too much. Thanks for your input!
  7. They can do better than a stock TS at CZ Custom, you know...
  8. This might be a bit off topic, but is anyone finding full weight limited guns (42-44oz) too much for women to borrow? In general.
  9. CZ's are the most superior for For NRA Action Pistol? I see more striker guns than DA/SA guns so far. I see Mc Donalds more than any other restaurant, they're the most superior? Or are they just the cheapest?
  10. PM sent. As I said, awesome service. Can understand a great smith getting lots of work!
  11. Looking for who makes carry holsters for SVIs. Basicly the compact grip, 3.75" LDC Signature Carry gun but with an RMR. Looking for: AIWB (like JM Custom Kydex/Keeper/5shot SME/etc), shoulder (horizontal), crossdraw (driving holster) with retention. Blade Tec has no listing for the above, nor does CompTac, JM and all the other people I've checked.
  12. Very nice people. Very busy. Possibly related. That said, if you're looking for gunsmithing on time they're rather behind now. Already past when my build was supposed to be done, not even started yet.
  13. Anyone test a railed hand guard that's actually lighter than the BCM KMR?
  14. People run it all the way in and all the way out. I prefer back, others prefer forward. See what works for you.
  15. Gun shops do not like either reloaders or competitive shooters. My local gun shop once was selling ALL of their reloading supplies at low cost and they told me they were not going to sell any more, stating that "reloading was a waste of time". AJI?
  16. You obviously were not in my favorite gun shop of all time - The Pistol Parlour. I don't know, I went to Pistol Parlour to try and find a CZ compact. I asked if they had any compact CZs in a steel frame, he handed me an aluminum framed model, and he was rather snippy after letting him know. Not a good (only) experience there.
  17. that's an interesting concept, but I think it would require careful experimentation to figure out that percentage, and then I'd tweak it just enough that optics would be at slight disadvantage, otherwise it would be like major/minor where you pretty much HAVE to go major to be competitive. Of course the herd sometimes changes their minds about what is *required* to be competitive. It used to be DA guns weren't taken seriously in production, but now everyone has to have one. I think the sport might be better for that. Everyone would have the most flexibility, and it wouldn't water down divisions at all.
  18. They're the ones I quoted at 5.25" circumference. That's /tiny./
  19. Why is this about production? Why not Limited Optics? Limited without magwells/gas pedals and RMRs instead, with a 145 PF floor would be just about perfect. Would actually allow guns similar to what people can carry be competitive. Slightly shorter box, perhaps. I still think * Optics as a percentage score modifier works the best for both sides though.
  20. Why not just have optics as a time modifier to any division? Knock a certain percentage off the score would be really easy.
  21. Try to find a small Steel Infinity grip. They are noticeably smaller than the standard, though I don't know how it actually measures up against a Caspain. I've owned a Double Stack Para and it felt larger than any of my Infinitys. http://www.sviguns.com/1101.php?indx=10 Brandon sent me a small to check out, and it was quite a bit smaller in the hand than the SVIs I've shot. I'm still not sure if it's as small as an STI grip reduction though. Suppose I'll find out when Infinity gets up to my order. If you're looking for a good feeling grip, a small SVI and a reduced STI are the best I've felt. Para/SA/RIA doublestacks all felt way bigger to me.
  22. Would you measure the circumference on that?
  23. What're you having it mounted on and how? I talked to Eric there and he wasn't sure how to mount it a month ago.
