  1. I have that issue. The guy who did that stippling did a seriously piss poor job on it. I would be absolutely pissed if my gun came back with the stipple job he did.
  2. Sand off the original checkering or fill it in with plastic depending on if it protrudes from the grip or sinks in. The Kahr had both so on the backstrap I had to melt plastic and fill in the checkering and the front strap I sanded smooth as well as the sides. The sides and backstrap I used a rounded tip, the frontstrap I used a sharp tip. There's really no pattern other than just random. I personally hate to see a border or to see paterns when doing a "dot" type stippling. I'll make the border first to know where to stop, but then later I'll go back and make sure to hit it with randomness to take away any look of a pattern. (hope that makes sense) Main thing I can really say is be patient, don't burn through and don't get too over confident. And practice on something you won't mind messing up. I use the AR grips that come with the lpk's I buy, but M&P backstraps are pretty cheap too so it's a good practice piece. I'm trying a couple other types of styles out and I'll post pics when I get them to where I've mastered it. I have a few old AR grips that have different styles of stipple on all sides lol.
  3. I stippled mine. When I get it back from Accurate Iron, I'll post pics. I did the aggressive grip on it. I'm still working on getting the scalloped to look right. Here's a sample of one I did for my CC pistol. Medium grip on sides and backstrap. Aggressive grip on front strap.
  4. I'm more and more impressed every time I see some of Mikes work. Out-friggin-standing pistol.
  5. Loki kicks ass!! I've been using their 18" stainless double fluted barrel with mid length gas for my 3 gun rifle and well... it's nothing short of awesome! Really light weight and crazy accurate. Looks good too If I had the extra cash I would definitely get their new 3 gun rifle.
  6. I like Arredondo (think I'm spelling that right???) The part says it's for a Benelli, but really it could go on almost anything because you have to drill and tap for a screw so it's not like it has some weird tab hanging off or anything that would make it specific for Benelli.
  7. I think he was being a smartass about you saying you "stomped" many shooters.
  8. I'll pass the word along. Thanks.
  9. I have litterally stomped many a shooters using old technology in open that had greater skills but could not keep up because I was running an R&R Saiga. If your friend is having a problem he should contact Rob and he will make it right. Rather its teh Saiga or the AKDAL or something similar mag fed shotguns are here to stay and will dominate. Pat I'm not at all saying they're not here to stay or that they will eventually dominate. I'm just saying it's not there just yet (for the most part) so I'll let you guys do the T&E on em and I'll save my money for more bullets.
  10. Exactly. It's a gamble either way... fumble with tec-loaders, or fumble with clearing jams. Either way you go about it, the clock behind you is still ticking away so be confident in your equipment and practice thouroughly with the ammo you plan to use before going into a match. Ammo alone has bitten me in the ass during competition before and it aint fun.
  11. Get the American and spend $100 on the factory gel pad and you probably can't tell the difference. You'll save $250-$300 doing it that way too. I have the American and don't think the recoil is too bad as is, I'm considering getting the gel pad just for comparisons sake and if it doesn't make much difference I'll sell the pad and get most of my money back on it. Win-win if you ask me.
  12. Im actually selling both my Benelli's (Benny M2 already sold) and my Open M1 which will be listed tonight to fund a R&R Saiga. We'll see if I made a mistake. Good luck to ya. One of the guys shooting our local 3 gun match did the exact same thing and had nothing but jams and misfeeds with his R&R Saiga. He ended up selling it and going back to a Benelli.
  13. Similar to the Troy TRX extreme I'm guessing.
  14. Mossberg really screwed up with their competition series by not doing the most basic of mods. Welding the lifter. The Benelli is overpriced for sure.
  15. You guys go ahead and pump hundreds and hundreds of dollars into your Saigas that prove finicky, and AKDAL's which haven't proven themselves yet and don't have parts availability.... I'll stick with my Benelli M2 and walk with confidence
  16. For 3 gunnin there wouldn't be a lot of times you would need anything more than the single dot. Maybe some of the larger major matches, but local matches don't usually go past 300-350 yards. The local match in my area only goes to 300. That zombie stomper reticle is way too busy for me.
  17. I'm interested in some work from Mike. Any idea on where to find pricing? Website being revamped... Yeah his website is still under construction. Not sure when it's going to be back up, hopefully soon.
  18. I may have exaggerated with way better than Salient, but still better. I've handled and shot a Salient and thought it was great, but the Accurate Iron ones are a step above. He has mine right now as a matter of fact. The work is cleaner and more detailed. And like I said, it's hundreds less to buy an M1 or M2 and have Cyrwus work it over rather than buy the "custom shop" Benelli.
  19. I tried the Ergo for about a year and never really warmed up to it. Now both of my rifles have the Magpul MOE on em to stay.
  20. The Stag 3 gun rifle is great, but also look at LOKI weapon systems. They have an awesome 3 gun rifle with an 18" stainless double fluted Satern barrel with rifle length gas that would be a great all around rifle.
  21. Yes it's possible but you'll have to use thin wall chokes.
  22. Where's your shell release button? Right below the charge handle, it has a oversize release. Its hard to see in the picture. Chris is a Team Benelli guy That's the bolt release. I'm talking about the shell release which should be a little silver tab on the top part of the triggerguard. Very cool being a team Benelli guy. I've shot a few matches with Kurt Miller. Very nice and helpful guy. It also serves as a cocking indicator (little red dot) and in the photo the gun is not cocked. You are correct sir. I see the hammer now. That would explain why it's not visible. Ok, carry-on
  23. OK. That makes sense. I will take a look at that area and see how I can improve it. What type of dremel bit would you recommend for smoothing that out? Or would you do it by hand? Thanks again, Allen By hand. It's too easy to remove too much with a dremel.
