Great stock, I've been using them hard on several rifles with no problems at all. Put some Dawn dish soap on the buffer tube and the foam cheek piece will slide right on.

Make sure your gas tube isn't upside down. ETA never mind, saw that it works with a full mass bolt carrier.

Best Forged Stripped Upper For The $$ ?
doubleaay78 replied to Ssanders224's topic in Rifle - Technical
Why not use a PSA upper? It should match your lower perfectly. I've had good luck with them, and YHM and Aero Presision as well, and they are priced right. -
I thought there was an issue with the Syrac and extended handguards, although it possibly may have been resolved. The Syrac clamp on .750" gas block touches a 15" Troy Alpha Rail when installed on a rifle length gas barrel. I resolved it by filing down the bottom of the gas block until it cleared the hand guard with a little room to spare, and also ground the hand guard slightly.

Palmetto State Armory has stripped uppers for $70, they were in stock as of yesterday. They are as good as any other.

texas tornado 3gun

2nd Saturday 3-gun at Impact Zone near Hempstead is pretty fun, I usually drive down from Austin and shoot it. www.whidpa.com -
A good comp, with a COMPLETE (not only one or two pieces) tuned low-mass op system such as the one from JP makes a significant difference in felt recoil and muzzle control. Chances are good the guy you saw had his rifle set up this way. All good advice here, training and practice are excellent ways to improve your shooting and gun handling skills. But let's not kid ourselves, the right equipment makes a difference.

Universal major load with 180gr bayou bullet
doubleaay78 replied to hab25's topic in 10mm/40 Caliber
+1 I use HP38 for minor PF 3-gun loads and major PF USPSA loads. It works great in my 2011. My OAL is 1.135" because of a shorter chamber in my Clark barrel, but I've shot HP38 in other 2011's with longer chambers as well with excellent results. -
I shoot mostly Bayou Bullets 180 grainers in my Clark barreled STI. These bullets are consistently 50-70 fps slower through my friends Infinity barrel than they are through my pistol with the same powder charge (3.8gr HP38). He upped the powder charge for his loads, and it shoots great. It does feel slightly hotter than my loads, but only if you shoot the two back to back.

According to the published rules @ fb3gun.com loading over 9 rounds in the gun is legal after the beep. Total round capacity is not relevant, only # rounds in gun at stage start matters. Failure to follow the 9 round max at stage start mean you get bumped to open: "5.1.2 Failure to meet all of the equipment and ammunition requirements for the declared division shall result in the participant being placed into Open division." It's not that complicated. Read the rules, more than once if you need to. While clarification is always a good thing, this seems pretty cut and dried to me, especially considering how many other major 3-gun matches use the same rules in regard to this issue. As for others getting away with more than 9 at the start, I've yet to see someone try it. It's very easy to tell just by watching them shoot if they started with more than 9, unless they load unnecessarily to cover the rule breaking, which negates the purpose for cheating in the first place. If its so rampant, name some names! Peer pressure works better than any other method of dealing with something like this.
