    I Blow

I got DQed at the EEO. I am a monkey
  5. Red Bull is not allowed for sale in Norway. Think some kid drank a crack-load with some vodka and died many years ago. So they banned it. I'm doing pretty good on the lag, but 2-3pm everyday is a hump.. I found something called "Battery +" which looks like a duracell battery. A couple of those was nice. Now back on beer and should go to bed shortly. Just have to load my ammo for tomorrows match. It's only 11pm so no rush... Had a nice practice at the local range today with my bud Steinar. We chrono'd and test-fired some rounds. Actually hit some targets and poppes to see if the old tricks was still working. They sort of are, but will need lots of jedi mind tricks for the match.. Leo: I found that the new magrelease (wilson button) is a little big for me. I keep hitting it and dropping mags. I temp-fixed it by taping up the right side so give more tension. I think it needs to be filed/narrowed or made slightly shallower. It's a pretty big bad boy and I love it for reloads, but its damn easy to hit with my left hand. I was thinking of filing it, but with the beautiful IonBond finish that's on it i couldn't make myself do it. So some good 'ol electrical tape does the trick. btw. I love the new checkered grips. I'm sporting a green set with my ionbond'ed gun. It feels (and looks) good. Can't wait for the new fiber front sight, flat trigger and magwell. All in the works and we'll hopefully see them in about 3 months. Leo's on the job helping designing magwell while I'm gone. The fiber sight prints are off to the machine shop who's making it for me so maybe something will be available shortly after I'm back. Life's good. Europe kicks ass. We're shooting in about 8 hours or so. Sunday night Cliff (Walsh from Florida), Frank (Sparby from Norway), Steinar and I will BBQ at Steinar's house, drink beer and either cry or laugh over what we did or didn't do at this weekends match. Should be a good one, 14 stages, 300 rounds. Then Monday morning we're driving down to Czech Republic. We'll get to Prague by Tuesday nite and we'll spend a day there. Then head to the match (Czech Extreme Euro Open) where we'll be shooting for 3 days, 550 rounds, 30 stages. Should be a blast. So I might be offline a bit until we get settled in at the hotel in Czech. And I have no idea what kind of reception I'll get there. I am answering my cell phone so if you need to chat we me, feel free to call. I'm about 8 hours ahead of Mountain Time and who knows what I'm doing so can't guarantee I'll always pick up. However, you can text me and that'll give me an idea. I can call you back if it's important. + 1 720 352 1080. ;-)
  6. Note the new dark gray checkered grip. It's a hard anodized finish same as Spyderco uses on their knife bodies. Let me know what you think and if this would be a nice color. Would you prefer this as the base color over black ?
  7. Here's three of my Limited 40 pistols with IonBond and various grips. Also a Match 38 super with a four port comp built by Canyon Creek Custom.
  8. Well I should be and I am... multi-tasking. One thing at a time gets to be too boring... Packing up lots 19 reload kits for 40 S&W for IPSC Standard Division. Should be a big hit in Europe.
  9. Is also in the works. I've sent the drawings in for the front sight and they'll get made as soon as the machining time is available. A New Flat Trigger will be designed shortly. By the end of the summer we should be able to trick out our Tanfoglio guns to the nines. Also experimented with a new hard anodized gray on my grips that I picked up today. It's the same finish that Spyderco uses on some of their knife bodies. Looks really good and may become something I want to use for finish that'll be "factory". I've been in discussions with Tanfoglio to make my grips the official aluminum grips so if things work out by next year you might get your Gold Team supplied with my contour grips. ;-)
  10. btw. the new magwell is in the "worx". That means I've sent a "Match" model and a "Limited" model off to a company who will model it in SolidWorks. Here's my goal and YOU can give input as well: - width max 45mm to fit the IPSC box. I want to create a magwell that's legal for IPSC Standard division, but also big enough to satisfy the greediest open shooter. 45mm should accomplish that as long as the overall design is done right. - big ass, just like "Fastgun Frank" posted. This is where it all started for inspiration and what we're trying to accomplish in a production high quality magwell. - probably make it a two-piece so it can be assembled from the sides. This means bigger and nicer fit to match the already existing "contour grips". - a delrin insert that can be replaced which means the color option magwell "enclosure" doesn't need to be scratched up. - onesize fits all. I'm trying to make one enclosure that'll work for match, stock, limited and gold team. large and small frame. The only thing that'll make the difference is the size of the delrin piece. by doing it this way we can make one magwell enclosure that'll fit all models and have 4 different delrin insert pieces. Much easier design and more flexible than the factory magwells which actually have 4 different designs/models. - color match / design match to contour grips and base pads If you have any ideas, thoughts etc post them here..
  11. I made about 30 of the H-520 pads in green. Some of which I am taking and using in Europe, but Mo if you want some let me know. I did some in a special run along with grips but I'm not going to stock custom color in pads. At least not yet or until I can have a complete grip, magwell and pad set in colors.. he he
  12. And also the instigator in a lot of cases... Leo demands quality and cool looking shit
  13. I just uploaded a new magazine pad called the H-550. It means 0.030" (0.75mm) longer than the H-520 IPSC BOX pad. With this pad an a Grams 9-coil it is possible to reload to 19 rounds in 40 S&W and still be within the rules of the IPSC box. The IPSC Standard Divison Rules specify the box can be 150mm -0mm / +1mm. In other words a lot of matches will have a box that is 151mm. I made the H-520 pad to make the Tanfoglio/EAA Witness Limited pistol squeeze into the 150mm. In fact it squeezes into 149.50mm so you'll always be safe with the H-520 pads. At the 2007 Europeans I realized they had a huge, and I mean, huge IPSC rule box. Probably bigger than 151mm even. Well, since most officials want to comply with rules and make sure competitors don't get screwed they'll probably make a 151mm box just to be sure. Well... so the game begins and I made a bigger pad, called the H-550. Now it's possible to reload to 19 rounds and much easier start with 19 + 1 in your gun. That 0.030" extra space in the magazine does miracles and I'm going to be rocking with my new pads in a few weeks in Norway at the Kongsvinger Open and the Czech Extreme Euro Open in about 3 weeks. So here's the breakdown: 19 reloadable BIG BOX pad/kit is the H-550 with a 9-coil spring kit from Grams. 19 startable IPSC BOX pad/kit is the H-520 with a 9-coil spring kit from Grams. 18 reloadable IPSC BOX pad/kit is the H-520 with a 10-coil spring kit from Grams. The latter is the majority of my setups since I know these will pass when the box is at it's smallest and it is also a setup that is very reliable for a long time. I won't load up my 19 IPSC BOX setup more than necessary since 9 coils is a squeezer. Same with the BIG BOX setup. But the BIG BOX setup is a nice one to know you can reload to 19 rounds in those situations you really want it. As they did at the last European, they would let all competitors check their magazines/guns in the official box before the match. Well this ensure you that you won't be disqualified or tossed into Open class during the match. So if you intend to use your BIG BOX magazine setup make sure it's cleared with the official IPSC BOX of the match that it is in fact legal! I've also put together some packaging deals on the henningshootsguns.com store (not yet uploaded on tanfoglioparts.com) for 3-pack of pads 3-pack of pads/spring kits 5-pack of pads 5-pack of pads/spring kits If I was setting up an IPSC standard division this is what I would travel to the match with: 5 x 18 round reloadable mags (H520 with 10-coils kits) 1 x 19 round startable mag (H520 with 9-coil kit) 2 x 19 round reloadable mags (H550 with 10-coil kit) With this 8 magazine setup you'll have enough mags to tackle any sort of nasty IPSC stage they'll throw at you and you know you'll pass with your 6 mags for sure. If they have a typical IPSC 151mm box you know you'll have two mags you can reload to 19 rounds with as well. Cool ? btw. I'm heading out on May 26th so if you want me to ship you before the match in Czech Euro Extreme place your order soon. I'll also bring pads/kits to the match but this might be a little late for you to be able to use them in the match. ;-)
  14. I actually have some custom green IPSC BOX pads... (H-520s). They're not online, only for special people... like Leo... ha
  15. The gun has: - custom slide lightening cuts (Ionbonded black) - front sight narrowed to 0.090", rear sight dogearred (both Ionbonded afterwards) - magrelease button weld on Wilson Combat button (Ionbonded) - magwell anodized in black - Henning Contour Grip Checkered in light Green custom color - Henning XL Firing Pin - Wolff 13lb Hammer spring - Wolff 10lb Recoil spring - EGW Slide Pin - Ionbond duo-color black top, gunmetal gray frame The factory trigger turned so good after putting the 13lb hammer spring it that I didn't bother to put the EGW hammer/sear in it. The difference is that the EGW parts will give a crisper feel and will give a shorter reset. As for weight, it's good enough to shoot for me.
  16. Here's more pictures of the gun finished.. hot hot hot
  17. Rick Check out the shirt... one's heading your way for your thread number 200 buddy !
  18. So I decided to make a t-shirt... http://henningshootsguns.com/shop/apparel.html
  19. You think that looks nice... check it now with my green checkered grips and a black anodized magwell... unfortunately my camera doesn't do the gun justice. The colors popping out. This is the gun I'll be shooting at the upcoming Kongsvinger Open in Norway in 2 weeks and the following weekend in Czech Republic at the Czech Extreme Euro Open.. Czech's hosting a 30 stage, 550 round match spun over 3 days. Fun.. I think so ;-)
  20. Thanks to Leo Hallak and John Sandlin in Kansas City who did the supercool slide-lightening on my guns. After they were done they were IonBond'ed in duo-tone. Looks killer, ey?
  21. When you push the sight off, make sure you have a solid surface for the sight to slide on to. You can push the sight straight off, but chances are you'll bend it. By letting it slide onto something you'll make sure the old sight remains as intact as possible.
  22. I got a mount from Derek and it can be cut and re-drilled to fit the Tanfo. There's enough room. He doesn't make one w/o holes so order the 1911 style and cut/drill to fit your gun.
  23. Its true and been on my schedule for a while. My plan is to start on the magwell R&D in May if everything else is going well. It will be a HUGE magwell, trust me.
