  1. I currently have a 21" barrel on my Benelli and was thinking of swapping in a 26" for better velocity and accuracy. Anybody have a recommendation for best barrel length for open class shotgun?
  2. I spoke to STI a few months ago and they said a redesign is underway and the new grips should be available early 2012. They also told me if you have a first gen cracked aluminum grip they will honor their warrantee by replacing it with their new grip.
  3. Anybody tried Alliant's new AR-COMP powder? Any data?
  4. Very interesting and helpful posts. I just purchase a 3G1 upper from Midway and installed it on my DSA lower. Beside the lower receiver and a CMC triggger group, the rest of the parts are the same as the complete 3G1 rifle. At the range, using Federal 55gr. military ammo I was able to maintain sub 1" groups at 100 yards using a Vortex PST scope. I'm planning on swapping in a Stark grip for my Magpul MOE version and that's all the upgrades I dare do. Coming from the custom race pistol world where thousands are spent for uppers let alone complete guns, this upper is an absolute steal for $799 on Midway. I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality and accuracy delivered by DMPS. For now, I looking forward to my next 3Gun match to see how it shoots in match conditions.

  6. I have a C-More 6MOA on my SOCOM and its seems to be holding up. I have about 1k rounds using surplus ammo and its still holding zero. Would like to know what other optic everyone else is using on their SOCOMs?

  8. Hi James, Is the lens the same diameter or smaller than the C-More? Kinda looks smaller... How much brighter/cleaner is the dot compared to the C-More? David
  9. What's the difference between a SQD "B" and a SQD? Any pros/cons?
  10. I was very disappointed to find out DAA/Saul didn't film the Nationals since past DVDs were done well. I'm hoping a company did produce it for DVD release.
  11. Does anyone know if this year's Nationals has filmed and produced for DVD or Blu-ray? I contacted Double Alpha Academy who had produced previous Nationals for DVD and they did not film this year.

  13. I just received my Race Master Holster... ultra smooth draw, rock solid retention, clean design... I'll have more info as I continue to use it for the rest of the year.
  14. Rock River 16" upper and DSA receiver - setup's for tactical use.
  15. Is that an aluminum grip? Or did you track down one of SV's stainless steel ones? Yes, it's an aluminum B grip.
  16. Limcat Custom Sabercat - new lightening cut on dust cover.
  17. Are the three bottom ports in the comp original to the gun? I never seen Johnny do those kind of ports.
  18. What spring weight are you guys running in your 6" Limited? I've been using ISMI 12.5lb. while shooting 180 gr. Bear Creeks.
  19. Interested in round counts of grips that have NOT cracked. Maybe no one can get over 2000rds without cracking... My STI has about 15 thousand without a crack. The other gun about 5 K (both aluminium grips. Update to my previous post - I just noticed a hairline crack at the bottom of the trigger guard. It could had been there earlier, I just looked closer this time. I have three guns with the STI Aluminum grips - 2 open and 1 limited. Round counts with no visible cracks as follows: Main open: 8K+ Back up open: 2K+ Limited: 2K+ From what I'm reading here, I'm expecting one of these to crack eventually. Also, sounds like STI hasn't done anything to improve it?!
  20. I've been shooting it since October and the powder coat is holding up very well. Around the comp there is no pealing or chipping when I need to clean that area I don't use any solvents which would strip the powder coating - all I do is wipe it down with a lightly oiled rag.
  21. Limcat's New Sabercat 6" KKM bull barrel 40SW Limited w/STI aluminum frame. I've shot a standard frame 5" SVI Infinity limited w/tungsten sleeved barrel for 4 years then Limcat's Wildcat 5" extended frame w/full profile slide, w/tungsten sleeved barrel for about 3 years. This new 6" setup from Limcat by far shoots the flattest, as accurate, transitions the same and weights relatively the same as the SVI 41.5oz and Wildcat 41.3oz - Sabercat 41.9oz all unloaded. It's been about 6 months of shooting and I haven't yet taking advantage of how fast and flat it shoots but time will tell.
  22. Phantera II, 4.5" 38sc KKM barrel, V-6 compensator and L-Cut slide, blue powder coat - I've since replaced magwell with a Smoking Hole style and switched grips to STI aluminum. It shoots extremely flat and handles quick.
  23. Do you mean the next shipment of holsters? we will be shipping out next week, should be mid week. still lots of back orders to fill for our dealers and distributors, but within two weeks from now we should be fully caught up. saul Hi Saul, What is the difference between the STI/SVI Aluminum/Steel and Polymer "Insert Block Assemblies"? thx ~David
  24. I have a couple of STI mags with Grams followers/springs and basepads and can only load 16 but have have two other mags set up the same way and can easily fit 20. I compared the tubes side by side and the 20 rnd tubes seem to be slightly more rounded at the corners and the feed lips a bit wider. The 20 rnd tubes are about 5-6 years old compared to the 16 rnd tubes which are new. Anybody have this same issue?
  25. Just curious what kind of prices people are asking for California registered new STI/SV frame.
