Not recomended if anyone is on any type of diet except see food. Plenty of room, just show up...we'll come up with a time at the match. I myself am staying at the Byram Days inn.......right around the corner from a pretty good Mexican food joint.....with BEER !!!!!!! I plan on being there on Friday Night, anyone welcome to join me. So Yes I guess I'll get it set up.........Saturday evening at Bo-dans !!!!! Please come hungry. HOP

    TEXAS STAR

We got one for our club at the last A-4. Since I have not touched a revolver since last October, my best is a 3.29 with it at 12 yds from hands relaxed draw.......A- Revo. I consistantly run ot around 4 seconds with the "Benny Blaster" and can get Low 3's also with it. A+ "Benny Blaster class" FUN TOY !!!!! HOP Oh, and SmittyFl shoots pretty good too!!! ..........Better person than shooter though!
  4. Tom, Since I am working the match, I chose to stay at the hotel in Byram( 3 minutes from the range). I think Nemo is there too.... Most will be at the Match Hotel (20 minutes +- from the range). Looks like you will be making the trip, Be carefull and have fun....It should be a nice ride. AND I believe that will be 20 for sure, but I will still try and twist a few arms at A-6 this weekend. See ya'll there!!!!! Gonna be great!!!!! Hopalong
  5. Ok , I was informed last night that we were sitting on 20! (just waiting for the "It's in the mail" checks) Now don't quit, keep bringing more. 30 would be better than 20!!!! I think I may have talked a couple from the space city challenge into coming. I will be talking to a couple at A-6 that I have not been able to. See ya'll there. I'm CRO of stage 8...... Will be issuing many procedureal and other penalties to any of you other wheelgunners who are even close to my run!!! And If any of the bottom feeders laugh too loud they will get some too! And before hand.... Thanks for coming, When I mentioned this to John a while back he said "Good Luck".............Glad it worked out!
  6. "Not so New" revolver shooter Mike Carmoney jumped divisons and ends up 31st overall at the Single Stack Nationals !!!! Way to go!!!!!!! Now I dont' want to hear another word from you about shooting a bottom feeder.....even though the single stack is OLD SCHOOL!! HOPALONG
  7. Ok last nights post was after the 14 hr. drive home so it was short. Tom Neal, Great match you did great. be proud! The "Austin Squad" minus a few (XRE) You guys were great and very fun to shoot with. Sharyn, great job shooting then even better on the "Dinner"! ....and good seeing you again! Most of you are just getting to find out about Shannon, I had the pleasure of shooting the 2004 Nationals with him......Not only can he shoot OK, He's a class act too! Good going Smitty! Rob Johnson.........Watch this GUY!!!!! To all the other BE,rs (to many to list now) good to see you folks, this is a great group of people. Mark Self....... I myself just could not get in the groove, this match as I was shooting felt like 3 years ago when I just had made "C" class. Nothing felt right until the last stage or two....may be the long ride I don't know. Something I have to figure out. Oh yeah, My buddies Renee Tyson and Mike Thomas.... Renee, shot a clean match on Friday and did it while helping do the Range officer duties. My compliments Renee! Mike Thomas, not many of you know him. He is from the Nashville area and is a wolf in sheeps clothing...Great Job Mike...Congrats! To everyone else, I hope you had as much fun as I did......A MAJOR thing in my book now. Hopalong Edit to add: With all the late entries, the predictions were shot to Hell. (but I did get two of them)
  8. Great Match !!!!! Great Squad !!!!! (8).......Thanks for putting up with me! Great STAFF !!!!!! Wish I could have gotten my head in the match before the last stage. A few quick Yee haa's Athena! great job My buddy Jonny Brister in his 1st Major with a Wheelgun..... Rob Johnson (2nd Production) Renee, Way to go! My Buddy Mike Thomas from Nashville......You da Man!!!!! Thanks for the great match.....Just wish it was not 14 hrs from home(by road) See some of you next week at A-6!!!!! Hopalong
  9. Haras, Mine are already all loaded and waiting for the trip.......so I won't be needing it. But if you want to show it to me for the "oooo" factor, just go right ahead. See ay'll there. HOP
  10. Yeah, Matt is just an Arkansas chump! See you in July Matt!.......IF not sooner! Hop
  11. Alright now, Due to time constraints and work keeping me in Kentucky, I will not be able to do much yacking on the web, ect. Those of you who are coming, I'll see you there.....bring another as like I have said in the past ......."30 is better than 20 and 40 is better than 30!" Keep up on the list, and keep adding to it!!! Have to make it through the Space City Challenge, then A-6 both with the "Benny Blaster" but will have a long week to "get reaquainted" with the "shootin iron". Hope that is enough time. I'll see some of you either at Houston, or Atlanta....then at BYRAM !!! See you there! Hopalong
  12. Vincent, From my limited experiance with shooting...... I hardly ever pay much attention to stage diagrams any more....Just looking for odd shooting positions, and different type starts. The stages hardly ever look like they do on the ground as they do on paper. With that Said............... ONE more week until......"LOAD and MAKE READY" !!!!!! looking forward to it myself. Hopalong
  13. I carry : 1 Smith & Wesson 5" 625....... Set up EXACTLY like the other! Well maybe a different color of grip but otherwise.... Will be running into a small problem though...... Am going to start running a 25-2.......I have two of these, One is almost race ready...I'll cristen it at the Mississippi Classic. The other is 95+% and will be a safe queen for a good long while. Need to find another 25 to butcher and slice on....until then the back up will be .....2- 5" 625s Good luck.......always a good reason to buy another HOP
  14. UPDATE !!!! Tooth came out on Thursday AM(13th) by Sunday the swelling and major pain was pretty well gone...so off to KENTUCKY we go to work..... Tuesday during the day the little pain that was left is now getting pretty irritating. so I use one of those hydrocodone pills(Lorecet 7.5), make it through the rest of the day fine. Wednesday by mid AM I take another one, and get on the phone with the DR. He said "might be a dry socket".............when can you make it back? I said tomorrow mid afternoon(20th) he said "fine, if you need to just double up on the pills but no more than 4 in 24 hrs". Get back to the DR on Thursday, he said "Yep dry socket, let me put some packing with some medicine in it" so he stuffs some junk in it.............said it had "Oil of Cloves" that has a natural pain killer and a "taste". Man that stuff tasted like black liquourish x 5 or more!!! (I never did like liquorish)....but it sure did get rid of the pain. He then says "come back tomorrow and we'll change that out and repack it" So this time I'm ready, got my orbit sugar free gum (spearmint)......but the damn stuff still overpowers my gum!!! jaw is a whole lot better though!!!!! So this wisdom tooth stuff is definately for the birds!!!! Good thing it is not a week later, sure would hate to go through all that and try to shoot the Space City Challenge. HOP Edit due to the fact that the IV anestisia had a "temoprary amnesia effect" and I forgot how to spell !!!!
  15. Well it seems to be Official now.... Congratulations to Mike Carmoney......the 2005 USPSA points series Revolver division Champion!!!!! As the 2004 Champ, way to go! You and Dan made it a run to the wire. And as the 2005 A class champ I would like to thank Mike for winning the whole thing. The check USPSA sent me got me into an entire major match(that I would not have gone to)....so thanks again! Good luck this year ! Hopalong
  16. Hey Cliff........ I Still saw it!!!!!!! Tony, Yes, I have found that out......more than once! See you cats there! Hopalong Edit because I kant even spell Hopalong.
  17. Not to be a smart ass.......(some tend to think so though).... Ever hear of a Smith & Wesson Model 625? 5 inch full underlug barrel HOPALONG...........The smart ass!
  18. Jeff, Thanks for the invite. But I would be a bad influence on you guys......with my 20 rounds in the mag and all....you know........everyone on the squad would be missing their reloads, wanting to not reload ect. You know what those terrible bottom feeders do to side feeders when combined! And......for those who are interested..... I have seen Cliff Walsh with a bottom feeder in his hand and actually shooting it!!! Hopalong
  19. Tony, That is good, well done....... Now let's get some "A" scores with that new 610 too!! Hopalong
  20. Well I sent mine in this week, with the hand still not where I wanted it to be when I sent my entry I listed my entry as...... Major, Limited, "M" Now I'm going to find out how it really feels to get my AZZ kicked !!! Sorry guys, not this year. Hopalong
  21. unfortunately for them, but I have had 3 withdraw due to schedule conflicts. so there is now more room! There are some of you that want to have a class just prior to a major match, similar to the Double Tap, Michigan Targeting education ect. I know this is to kill two birds with one stone. Max and I have discussed this and we both tend to agree that this is not the utmost best way to get this type of training. When having a class like this having it a day or two before a major match does not give you the time to implement what you have learned into your shooting game. Also as a paying student, shooting at a major match takes some of the focus of your instructors away as they have to worry about their match too. That is why Max, Travis, and I decided to Host this course in conjuntion with a local type match, so you the paying customer can get the best bang for your buck!!! The quality of the stages will be to where all will be tested, yet not so hard as no one will be left thinking "Damn that was hard" If you are interested, please PM me from this forum or click here---- http://crssa.com/score%20sheets/Double%20Impact%202006.doc for more info and an entry sheet. or go to Max's forums....here...http://maxmichel.com/ Thanks, and hope to see you in May! SAM KEEN
  22. Vincent, At least you were smart enough to have them separate from the rest. (and no I did not) Looking forward to shooting with you and the rest of squad 8 at Space City! Hopalong
  23. Nel, Fansico, You two guys are a great pair of little dudes!!!! the way you handle yourselves and your attitudes are awsome. Glad the STI pistolas are working out for you, Keep up the good work! For the rest of you out there....I had the privledge of shooting with Capt. Nemo and crew at the 2005 A-6 match. You would not want any one else to shoot with...Top Notch...even el capitan. If the youth of today were all like the Colons and Sam Carmoney, I would not have any apprehensions of the future at all!!! HOP
  24. IVAN, 39 by about 3 months. And I sometimes still don't know any better. Jerry PM coming about the hip replacement......ONE day I will not be HOPALONG anymore! Hopalong
  25. Cliff, You buy my plane ticket, pick up the hotel room and pay the entry fee and I'll go! Hope to see you there! One question though....... Can I shoot my "Benny Blaster"? Hopalong
