  1. I personally believe that may be very good advice. Seems like you may have violated PayPal''s contract. Does that entitle PayPal to convert your money into a 6-month CD where THEY get to keep the interest? That sounds unconscionable to me, whether its in the contract or not. But that is only my opinion as an individual. Personally, I would let the small claims court Judge decide. If PayPal disagrees, they should be able to EASILY win their case - just show up and contest it. That is their right. Of course, what that means in the real world is: pay a lawyer to possibly fly out, stay in a hotel, and appear at a $150 to $350 per hour. - but PayPal's costs are not your problem nor the Court's problem.
  2. I used to help out at Phil's range near D.C., and in return I'd take home a bucket or two (5 gal) of brass to sort & use. Over 3 years I think I found 20 pieces of .38 Super brass. Sources of used 38 sup don't exist. You will just have to buy new brass and load that.
  3. Just heard back from my friend; these Wolf primers worked great in 9mm Major w/ HS 6. Small pistol.
  4. I have had great experiences with these. They go off in my gun, which is an SP-01 that requires a DOUBLE ACTION first shot. Thus, I've made the hammer spring as light as I can to lower the trigger pull weight. I usually use Federal primers. The Wolf primers work 100% - even with the lightened spring. I leant some to our area director for use in a 9mm Major gun. Don't know if he has tested them yet. I am NOT going back to US primers at current prices.
  5. My thoughts exactly. For those who have not heard, do a Google on "Governor signs California handgun firing pin mircrostamping bill" Wouldn't 30 seconds w/ a dremel erase these marks?
  6. Outstanding! Finally we are seeing some brand competition in the STI/SV dominated limited field. And as Flex points out, this is not the 1st plastic gun in Limited (btw - what brand won Limited a year or so back? L10?). Bring it on. Our sport will be the better for it.

    Broken parts

Rather than a shelf built up out of weld material, you might consider drilling & tapping a small hole for a hex-head stud that will serve as a rest for the safety when it is disengaged. Just a thought. C.
  8. Make that .04. I agree with Merlin on this. If your club is planning to buy poppers, be sure they buy forward falling ones.
  9. Thanks guys! I only wish it had been me in the photos; I simply ran accross the site on one of the CZ forums & though it might interest you guys. Closest I've been to Czech Republic is the in-laws house in Bavaria (I take the Teutonic princess home for the holidays each year). D.
  10. Here you go: LINK TO PHOTO TOUR or try: http://www.rustyhubbard.com/tour.html lots of SP-01-making photos.
  11. FWIW, here is the gun in question: MSRP: About $1800 (actual $1796.00 plus transfer and applicable taxes). www.stiguns.com I am just sore they beat me to it!
  12. Maybe this should go in "What I Like" but anyone else notice how many small manufacturers there were? Even a known name like Briley - they only made a few handguns last year. There are also plenty of folks out there that make their own guns at home for their own use & they are not required to report to that list.
  13. I use NuFinish & PetsMart crushed walnut - the 25 lb bags are sometimes on sale for $14.
  14. Greetings Rod! I also shoot a 625. You can't go wrong shooting a 230 w/ your gun & Clays powder. I personaly like Solo 1000 which you can find at any trap & skeet club. I have, in the past, used TG, but fir 45 use, it left soot that built up over time. I think Clays or Solo 1000 would be better choices. Regards, TY-44934
  15. I am about 450 primers through a 5K sleeve of Wolf and I am SOLD! THese are fantastic primers - they work GREAT and cost less. Even when Federals are available again, I am sticking with Wolf.
  16. Who is SPS? If you see Xre & Southpaw's posts above, that largely explains it. We should not get into another controversy (so please do not comment w/ your position) but for those wondering: SPS produces & sells guns outside the USA (made in Spain I thought). The patent above was not filed internationaly so it does not technically prevent SPS from using the design. The patent prevents the import of SPS guns into the USA. The Brazilian company Imbel *might* also produce an STI/SV style gun. The fact that the SPS uses the non-protected STI/SV design outside the US w/o the agreement or participation of STI/SV angers many in the US who SPS as having unfairly taken the non-protected design. Again, I have tried to make this a simple factual statement. Please lets not get into another debate. Regards, C.

    CNN

On car bumpers I saw in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (the capitol), Israel, I saw a bumper sticker I would love to own; it simply reads: "CNN LIES" If you run accross a US vendor, lemme know.
  18. The sig is a strong design. It should be able to handle 9mm Major with ease. I hope that Open X-5s make some inroads on the dominance of World Champ Graufel's Tanfoglio & all the SV/STI/SPS/Imbel guns out there. Would be nice to see some competition between manufacturers & more choices for us shooters.
  19. That is correct. I have an RCBS trigger pull gage. Used it to test both the CZ Standard IPSC/TS that I owned, as well as my friend Vlad's gun (3 guns). All measures 1.75 lbs after break in. Vlad's gun was at 2 lbs when new; after break in, it heald steady at 1.75 lbs. I also tried the trigger several times on a brand new TS we had for sale before the business burned down at www.shootersparadise.com; same result: 2 lbs, no take up, no over travel, and extremely crisp. My guns have NEVER followed or doubled.
  20. Hi John. I owned 2 of these & we used to sell them HERE They are outstanding guns. The problem you are having is caused by either: 1) Trigger adjustment. Your gun probably has the pre-travel screw adjusted in too far. From the factory box, get the metric hex key out and remove your gun's slide. Just past the trigger spring & trigger pivot pin, you should see the adjustment screw. Adjust it so the trigger can go further forward. Also, do not try to take every last bit of overtravel out either. Your gun comes with an awesome trigger; it will be just a good with a little more travel in each direction. 2) Factory preservative coating. CZ uses lots of it. While the slide is off, use a MILD solvent like gunscruber, CLP or brake cleaner. DO NOT USE CARB CLEANER!!! Wrinse off the factory goo & replace with good oil (like slip 2000). See you at Fredericksburg this weekend. C.
  21. Thanks Jim! Well the "jammed firing pin" theory is out. Broken firing pin is in. Slam-fire should be out too. Have never seen an out of battery fire. As far as AR kb!s seems that mostly the bolt is jammed in place & the carrier splits the upper like a clam shell. But that event has no relation to an oob.
  22. Hypothetical: if the AR firing pin becomes lodged forward (due to brass shavings, fouling, pierced primer, or some other cause) could a protruding firing pin set off a round before the gun goes into battery? Another possibility: Ever noctice the nice dent in the primer from the last round fired after "unload and show clear!" ?? There is no FP spring. Could an AR slam fire with, maybe a Federal small rifle primer? If it slam fired, would it do it in battery?
  23. There is NO WAY I'd use these brazilian MagTechs - they come from a 3rd world country with a socialist for a president. I use only Wolf/PMC. they are almost as reliable as Federal. Packaging and appearance just ooze quality and care of manufacture. Plus, the Wolf/PMC cost less too. Why would I buy brazilian, 3rd world unreliability when I can get wolf/PMC primers made by a country that's put men (and women) into orbit & just planted a flag on the sea-bed under the N. pole? Its clear who has the edge as far as techological know-how.
