  1. Thanks for that on the Ranger II.. Also, just remember what my Dad said HIS Mom used to always say... 'I forgot it; too late now.. "Sell the kids while they're still young n cute.." Lol.!
  2. I agree, that would be cool..!! But... They DO make the STI Ranger II in .40sw now and THAT is a FABULOUS gun, albeit heavier than we are discussing.. I've "Bob-Tailed" these as well...
  3. I'm w/ JakeMartens above.. If it had to have a full length dust cover, I would do a Springfield Armory Champion Lightweight Operator.. I've actually "Bob-Tailed" a handful of these and they do make a terrific carry option..
  4. I have a Safariland 012 with 013 mods for lock-able retention and actually really like the holster.. Problem is, it was excellent for my .40 Edge, but no matter how I adjust it for my Eagle it just won't "Snug Up" the way it did before w/ my former full dust cover gun.. I am likely to get another holster since this is driving me nuts.. What do you "Eagle Driver's" recommend so I can put this behind me? Thanks, Eric
  5. Cr_p... Mods please delete all these excess posts... I guess my smart phone kept sending once "I" got done... Sorry folks...
  6. At least run it on "Slow", mine will very occasionally drop one upside down but not often.. I am doing .40 though..
  7. I believe only one STI is made in the same facility over-sea's as you've mentioned.. The Spartan, and it is run on a separate line line from the R.I.A.'s, w/ separate QC standard's if I understand it correctly.. That being said, in my opinion these 2 mentioned guns are of equal standard and I have seen some RIA's that were very nicely tight and seemed pretty well fitted.
  8. This has been a debate for years.. I've actually heard of more problems FLGR related than those resulting from the "Short" system you have.. The "Short" is the way the 1911 was originally designed and works just fine. I personally prefer the FLGR simply because it sounds and feels a bit smoother; you can't hear or feel the spring as much as it's being compressed on a full length guide rod as you can while the spring is compressed and "Curls" inside the gun, while being restrained and guided through the "Tunnel" created by design inside the dust cover of the gun using a short recoil spring guide w/ a standard plug.. I know many folks that prefer the short.. As far as using a reverse plug like normally found on a bushing-less gun, and a Dawson Tool-less rod, you can do this only by using a reverse plug for bushing barrel such as this one: Evolution Gun Works Product Page but it seems like allot of work and money for no real return IMHO.. You could get an FLGR to add a little weight up front, or even a tungsten guide rod such as: Tungsten Guide Rod or plug: Tungsten Plug to add allot of weight if that's what you want to accomplish.. Good luck & shoot safe..! Eric
  9. Добро пожаловать на наш великий информационный форум! (Welcome to our great informational forum..!)
  10. The timer should still easily pick it up, IMHO the disadvantage is that you now will have to contend with Blow-Back into your face/ eye's.. It is uncomfortable, but manageable.. A good muzzle break is a better advantage, but not a cool to have.. I really like suppressors too..! Eric!
  11. I may turn 1 of my last SBR's into $$ for a 6" limited build, but not real soon that's for certain.. Thanks Alan
  12. No.. I almost took one that had a Bull, but didn't.. I took a BNIB, Blued 5.0, .40 Eagle w/ Bushing, I'm just gonna give it a 2-tone treatment just the opposite of how I had done my new HC Trojan and call it done. I was really just looking for some light conversation w/ this particular subject and thread..
  13. Lol..! I KNOW you're RIGHT Alan..! I just keep reading here on the forum and finding things I'd like to be able to find out more about what other folks think, and this was one of 'em.. I've never owned a handgun I could out shoot, so I'm CERTAIN you're right..! See yah bud..! (Mine Eagle'll be here Tuesday..!!) BTW - "Big Money" is the funniest part of ALL..!!
  14. For the sake of conversation: Say you have a Bushing Barreled, 5.0, .40sw STI that you want to squeeze MAX accuracy & performance out of.. If you were gonna put in a new match grade barrel to replace the factory barrel to get THE BEST possible accuracy, which one would it be, and why would it BE that one.?!? (I realize the factory barrels are quite good already... This, for the "Master's of the Obvious" out there... ) Which barrel would you install to replace the factory barrel, and why..?!? (This is only an "Informational & Educational" thread)
  15. I carried a P7M8 for a spell and loved my Kramer Open Top Horsehide.. I'd like to see someone get serious w/ a PSP.. It'd be allot quicker I'd imagine w an M8.. An M13 would be super terrific, only drawback I see is they all get HOT in a HURRY..! Good Luck w/ it for sure..!!
  16. 'Early '90's we (Several Gunner's Mate's w/ the USCG) did a test and evaluation of some brand new Riot Shotguns for possible use as Boarding Weapons at the Center in Yorktown, VA.... I won't write the manufacturer's name but they have a logo w/ 3 Crowns as part of it. I believe we had 12 new guns and 12 shooters on the firing line, we made ready and 1... 2... 3... Fired... 1st volley (And ONLY volley!!) we had 3 barrels go down range along w/ our "00" Buck-Shot.. So.. Evals were over in a matter of minutes and we stayed w/ our Remy 870 RG's for quite some time there after... I was so impressed w/ that, that I personally will never own any of they're products.
  17. Yup.. Loved my Glocks EXCEPT for THAT.! No more Glocks in my safe..
  18. Welcome..!! 'Used to do some Joint Anti-Smuggling Operations; mostly human slave trade, fairly often from Victoria & other spots there 'bout's.. You live in a beautiful area..!
  19. Another one... Gonna stop showin' it off now though.. I only had it for 6 or 8 weeks and already Life got in the way...
  20. Sorry.. I guess I missed something; Why'd yah cut them down 1 3/4".? It made quite a difference in what exactly, Top? Happy New Year BTW..!!!
