  1. Noticed that you've got a zerk there? From dillon or something you did yourself? Just the one, or are there others? Nice! I can't take credit for the Zerk fitting(s - another right above this one on the top pivot point..) Dillon sent it that way.. I only got my XL650 a few months ago.. Love the machine too.! Eric
  2. Master of the obvious here... Do NOT SMOKE..!! I remember seeing someone do it when I was a kid...
  3. Congrats..! That's a really nice piece you've got there..!
  4. I have a 12.5 in my Eagle running oal 1.185 w 180gr. pulled jacketed tfp bullets and 5.1gr. of N320.. Ran the same in my Edge..
  5. Lol..! It's only been to the last match in Fernadina Beach, and I shot 200 yesterday @ stationery targets @ the DNR... With the tungsten installed, it's fairly perfecto..! Between "On-Call" at work, kids birthday parties, tax-time BS, In-Laws "Honey Does", I have missed several matches but look forward to going back next weekend if we have a good one to shoot? I'll be glad if I can hit anything after such a pause..! Whatsamatter Bud.. 'Don't like my pics or did yah just wake up feeling a 'lil bloated & irritable today..?!? You're right, I need a match...!! Thanks Phil..
  6. DLC and Ionbond are the same product; VERY very good stuff, but not a self-lubing finish like NP-3 or our favorite singing bird stuff.. 'Perfect example of the DLC is the all black finish on the Kahr, K-40 I have posted on the classifieds.. The stuff is tough as nails, and I have never heard of this finish flaking or anything of the sort..
  7. Wwelcome MMAXX..! Lol..! Glad you're here, lot's of info available on this forum, Enjoy,
  8. I am not affiliated but have tried them all and my preference is of these products for carry applications...: The Good Stuff And.. I also still really like DLC as well.. BTW - As far as I'm concerned... Applied & baked on or allowed to cure = Paint..
  9. But, but, but.... On the Benos curved inserts... They only have one... . If I'm wrong, I'd love to know, I shoot the only what that I know of and would like a slightly longer version (top curved in this case)... I just checked sviguns to verify... Alan Well hell Alan.. I just looked too and sure enough, they don't have/ offer a medium top curved.. There is however a standard curved medium insert. I am going to go run some rounds today and see if this'll do, I keep dry firing w/ it and it seems to be growing on me.. I think allot of my back-n-forth is that it feels much different w/ o the checkered face, etc..
  10. It was a far bigger deal doing this than I had imagined (Pronounced Pain-In-The-ASS...). On the scale it's back to 2#, but I've got to admit, at least in my mind(?) it seems not quite as nice as it was before.. This may be because of the fact I used a white lithium grease this time and it feels a bit static-y.. if that makes any sense.. I have since, pulled it down again & replaced the insert w/ an Enos Short, Top Curve shoe which turned out to be... Wait for it... Too damned short for me.. Lol..! 3rd try'll be a charm; Medium Top Curve... If I had it to do over again... I would not go through this again, I would stick w/ the factory trigger for sure.. I have also tried the "Tri-Glide" (Not in this gun) and truth be known.. Didn't feel like enough difference to bother w/ IMHO... I recently got the used Dawson ICE Alum. magwell from a board member here and it was pretty rough... But man did IT clean up nicely..! I hate the looks of the white insert though, so.. If anyone has a Black one they'd like to trade for a white one, I'm the guy..!
  11. Today I did the Red SV trigger base w/ long black insert... Sure enough.. It's TOO long... Lol.! So now I'll try a medium length "Curved Top" insert, 'hopefully better after that; It's still a perfect 2# but can't reach it properly.. The STI magwell is only temp., it is my soon to be "Cut to fit the box" IDPA 'well, the correct one will be the polished ICE that should be here in a couple of days..
  12. I'll try again some other time.. Pic server keeps crashin'..
  13. I like the skelotenized STI my 1911/ 2011 handguns... It is NOT the perfect button for weak handed shooting however.. I'm going to start making custom buttons soon however.
  14. I find this incredibly frustrating for myself.. I always tell myself to slow down and concentrated on my fundamentals... Then.. The buzzer goes off... Then.. Un-load and show clear.. Damned if I really ever manage to keep the auto-pilot in check..! Argh.!!
  15. Article I just read (Okay, okay... I just looked at the pictures...) that "Should be here w/ our Walking Dead discussion..": Your Zombie Apocalypse Car Choice? Eric! They almost had mine, but apparently their choice was a gasoline burner.. I would prefer an older "Multi-Fuel" myself..
  16. Lol..! The only way I could think of to do it slower than the brush method would be using one of the Lube Pads like the precision bench rest rifle shooters use.... I've opted for the "Spray lube in a 1 gallon ziploc bag" then add about 100 pcs. and shake like "shake-n--bake" method... Thanks all, this is SO much better..! Were you suggesting to put them back into the medium for a couple of minutes after the rounds are completed?
  17. Can't you order one direct from Dillon? The way I read it.. Place the order and they will give the procedure(s).
  18. Crap.. Sorry to hear that.. It was bad out of the box? Eric
  19. He has the link to it at IKEA in the originating post.. It's $14.99 apparently..
  20. Why not? An inexpensive way to gain experience in fitting barrels. All the fitting is on the barrel so if you botch the job the SVI slide and frame are still okay. Learn how to do the job correctly and then fit an SVI barrel. Cheaper than screwing up a pricey barrel to advance up the learning curve. Pt I agree 100% w/ your logic Pat.. I only got a 'lil antsy when he said he's already using it as is and sounds completely botched, not to mention more than a tad unsafe.. I wouldn't personally recommend "Experimental 1st time gunsmithing" w/ a $2K gun, not would I want to shoot it myself if I didn't know what was right or not.. Maybe call up my Ex-Wife and see if SHE wanted to shoot it... Nah.. Happier she's just gone.. Lol..! G'night all..! Eric
  21. I replaced the Recoil-Master on my Edge before it went away... W/ a Dawson-Precision "Tool-Less" FLGR... Dawson Tool-Less FLGR Excellent and convenient..! I highly recommend it... Eric Pay attention.. There is one for a Bull Barrel and another one for bushing barrels..
  22. I'm not trying to sound like a prick when I ask this... But.. WHY on Earth would you want to try and fit an armscor barrel on an Infinity handgun..?!? In my experience, or estimation, this is really quite counter productive.. Infinity makes unbelievably great product(s)..!! Armscor... Well... Is in a different league in comparison... If it's just to learn or figure out how.. Try fitting an old(er) rattle trap 1911 1st... Just my personal .02... Sorry, probably need my Geritol..
  23. Mine's a $.37 cent threaded PVC fitting and one of the 3 for a dollar multi-pac LED flashlights from Harbor Freight.. Just drop in in the extra hole and off yah go.. (Which is now position #4 instead of #3 BTW...) -E!- I really DO like the clamp on light though, I really want one..!
