  1. yeah Pistol gear is quick with shipments. Not to mention that I get to see the guy at local club matches. I am glad that he picked up these mag pouches, they really are quite cool in that they are already turned at an angle for the reload. -RS
  2. I just got some new mag pouches and I am very happy with them. I got to use them at the IL Sectional match a few weeks ago and they are incredible. FINALLY there is information on them. For all the people who came up to me at the match asking about the mag pouches, well... here is the info. The company is called Speed Comp. www.barneybuddy.com and here http://www.pistol-gear.com/proddetail.php?prod=05H&cat=22 I am not the quickest person with reloads, but I will say that these help. -Ralph
  3. I have not tried small rifle primers, but there is no problem with factory primers like white box and such. If you have a problem with the small rifle primers and are not satisfied with the kit, you can always send it back and I will refund your money. sorry I could not be of more help, but I just never tried the small rifle. -Ralph
  4. Does anyone have a copy of the results they can send me? Thanks, rasotelo@sbcglobal.net
  5. I think it is N - I- double G - A am I close or way off?
  6. Thread drift... Yar1180, Hey Ray, it's me ralphie. I am glad to see someone else from paintball made their way into IPSC/USPSA. I draw so many similarities. Shoot me an email when you get a chance. I would like to hear what you been up to. -Ralph rasotelo@sbcglobal.net
  7. Yar1180, Where are you from? You played around the same period I did. I am sure we know each other if you were on the curcuit. What is your name and who did you play for? My name is Ralph and I played with Ironmen, All Americans, and Aftershock among others, mostly Aftershock. You pretty much nailed it. There was an overall image change in paintball. There was a big push in the late 90's to "bring it out of the woods", and into mainstream. No more camo, no more war. Now we have "markers" and "eliminations". -Ralph
  8. I feel I should chime in on this topic. My avatar is me playing paintball from a few years back. Paintball itself is not much older than IPSC, but one thing you need to keep in mind is that you don't need a wait period, background check, or FFL to buy or sell paintball guns. This aides its popularity. You can go out any weekend and rent paintball gear to play for a day. You really can't do that in IPSC. People see paintball as a game, harmless to most, but see IPSC as dangerous use of firearms. We already know that in MOST political climates, guns are seen as evil. This is rather unfortunate. Just so you know, the whole Disney thing finally came to fruition after MANY MANY years of negotiation with Disney Corporation and this helped come about from previous dealings with ESPN. -Ralph
  9. Well, I am done for the year! I finally did it and met my goal for the year. I shot a 100% Everything else this year is just for fun. -Ralph
  10. I came really close to my goal of shooting a 100% classifier. I shot an El Pres with 98.8741% in Limited. Just a tenth off or another A hot or so. Anyway, I will keep trying. -RS

    Non Metal mag well

I use a plastic magwell from Buffer technologies. It is not too different from not having a magwell, but blends in well with the gun and makes the grip nice. not bad for $30. Teh best part is that you don't need extended basepads -RS
  12. I am not rally a fan of wearing cleats to shoot, so I started looking for alternative shoes. Here is some that are for paintball, but would be great for IPSC http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERS...YAAAEA75Whw76P# These are other shoes that I saw that would be excellent as well http://www.biteshoes.com/golf/styles/2620b.htm what do you guys think? RS
  13. I would have to give the nod to Brass-hog. Best brass, best prices, all the same headstamp, and one of the nicest guys you would ever meet. He is who I use to get all my brass
  14. I once heard at a match and it made me laugh... "...the key on this stage is to shoot all A's and shoot them really fast..." I heard this and thought to myself... "now there's a plan!"
  15. I have a pretty simple goal for 2005... my goal is to shoot at least one 100% classifier in ANY division, but preferrably production, L-10, or Limited, which is pretty much the only divisions I shoot. -RS
  16. I have been trying to perfect the "bunny fart" load. Not as soft as the mouse fart load, but quicker and alot cuter. -RS
  17. I am no gun expert by any form, but I have pulled the trigger on a stock XD and a trigger worked on by Rich Dettelhauser (sp?). It is scary how light and short his triggers are. I do not own an XD, but can compare what a long heavy stock trigger is to one of his guns. Rich has a Production GM that he earned shooting an XD. I think his business is called Canyon Creek or something like that, but he has an ad here on Brian's site in the "Commerical Ad Forum" -RS
  18. I agree! I can add all the grip tape I want, I don't see what the difference would be. As a matter of fact a stippled grip from a distance looks alot like an Agrip. I need a Rule Guru's help here! -RS
  19. I wanted to know in production or Limited 10, since added grip tape, a-grip, ect is legal, can a grip be stippled and still be legal? I am not modifying the shape or profile or removing material, just stippling areas to get a better grip. I read the rules and it is not too specific. HELP!!
  20. What is the policy for classifier scores if you shoot the same classifier more than once? Example, you shoot the classifier at club A one month, and then at club B two months later in the same division. Will both scores post, or will only one count?

    GLOCK SPLITS

What is a good time for draws and splits with a glock? I shoot a G34 and G35 and was wondering what to use as a baseline for "GOOD", vs "SLOW". This question goes out to all and I am especially interested in Matt Mink's times and he is a GM and I think he would fit the "FAST" category. Matt Mink: What are your draws and splits with your .40 glock? Thanks, RS
  22. I shoot a G35 and G34. Being left handed with a Glock is not bad at all. Not that I have shot right handed. If there are any downfalls, it is that the extended mag release digs into my middle finger and I cannot actuate the slide lock manually without switching the grip to my right hand. The latter of course is an issue with all guns since I am lefty. The benefits are that I never have to worry about my finger being on the trigger for reloads, and if there is an issue with the gun during a stage, I can see more into the ejection port without breaking the 180. the Glocks and a 92FS are the only pistols I own and I really enjoy the glocks. -RS

    Matt Mink!!!

Okay Flex, I went shooting and paid very close attention to what I was seeing. I just installed new heinie slant pros on my guns and did notice a much different sight picture. I tried doing draws at 8-10 yards to see what time I was getting and what accuracy and what I was "seeing". It really depended on what I was trying to do. If I was trying to go "fast" I noticed that I was not seeing the sights at all, but rather looking at the target and pulling the trigger. This usually resulted in A hits. Then I tried the same, but focusing on my front sight. I noticed that by doing this, and trying to go "fast" my shots were off to the left or right more often than the first time. What I was "seeing" was my front sight, but not necessarily aligned with the rear. I figure this was throwing off my shot to the left or right. The third I tried was going slow, focusing on my entire sight picture and gettign good hits. I woudl draw slow, focus on my sight picture, and squeeze of the shot. This usually resulted in A hits, but time was significantly slower. Overall I noticed that my problem in seeing the sights came on the draw. I later went over the plate rack and concentrated on figuring out what i was "seeing" I noticed that after my first shot, I brought my sights back into "focus" and the remaining 5 plates were going down quick. What I was seeing what my sights where as before I am certain, I was focusing or "seeing" the target, not the sights. What does this all mean? I don't know, but what I really need to work on is getting good hits with speed. Thanks, RS
