  1. If you think that is nuts, you should check out this thread on the ruckus forum. Its about some guy from Korea that worked for a year as a waiter to save money. Came to North Carolina, bought a 50cc scooter, and has been riding it across the country and is now making his way back. INSANE! Totalruckus WAN cross country thread
  2. I always carry a pouch of Armor-all wipes in my bag. It slicks up mags, mag pouches, and my holster. I also use it to clean the inside and outside of my mags. for the $4 you'll spend, it is worth giving it a shot.
  3. Anyone going to these matches that has an extra glock pistol in 9mm or 40 they want to lend a visiting USPSA shooter? I will be traveling for work and prefer not to be traveling with a gun. I would be very happy to give a trigger kit and T shirt in exchange for the pistol use and ammo. Any takers?
  4. Can anyone here tell me if there are any clubs near the Orlando area that will host a USPSA match the weekend of April 12-13? I will be in the area and would love to shoot a match. Thanks, RS
  5. The reason I bought one was so I don't have to own two guns. I have a G34 that I shoot in production and with this slide I am just swapping out the upper (and ejector = $5) and I have a limited gun. I already own the magazines. This is alot cheaper than the $650 bucks a new G35 is going for here locally in the shops. I tend to shoot one division during any given year and change divisions from year to year. (last year was Limited, two years ago was L-10, this year is production) Regarding the fit, heck its a Glock, if I wanted precision fit, I would buy a something else. Besides, I am not that accurate of a shooter, (nor do I know any) that requires more accuracy than a stock glock can provide.
  6. Hey Glockster35!!! Per your request: The slides are identical except for a hair bit heavier, and the serrations are different
  7. I just received my Lone Wolf G35 slide and it is GREAT. Just like the factory 35 silde, but made out of stainless. Everything is almost exactly the same. I won't be building it until next month though due to the weather here.
  8. Here is the list of forum members that I know of Rocket35 Matt Cheeley Jake Di Vita SRT Driver Scott Baron Paul Johnson from Oak Park Ron from Oak Park Eric Seipp Kyle Seipp Me (Ralph)
  9. We want stage 6!!! I also would like to see Jake's vids. Nice guy and great shooter. Fun shooting with both of you! See you at Indiana?
  10. I voted to get the G35. Not to shoot a man's division, but to see how you fair against the other guys. I shot Production in 2005, L10 in 2006, and this year is Limited. so far, I shot one match against the likes of Manny Bragg, Ted Puente, and Chad Rutherford and came in at 86%. Really tells me I have a LONG way to go. Good luck this year, whatever you choose to shoot.
  11. I have not had the time to reply, but I wanted to make sure I did. I want to thank everyone for their kind words and congratulations. What makes this game so fun is all the great people you get to meet along the way. Thanks to Matt, Bill, John O, John B, Tony, Ronnie, Ben, Jay, Chris, and the others (the reason I say "others" is that I don't know your screen names) A Merry Christmas and best wishes to all in the new year. See you all at the matches in 2007.
  12. I am sure that the kind folks that put on the match are busy and I appreciate their effort. Does anyone know how to get a hold of them and maybe post the results here? or maybe the USPSA site? I am guessing the results are done considering they had the final results at the match. I don't want to be a pest, I am just curious to see the stage results. Thanks, RS
  13. I just bought a hogue holster and like it alot. I bought it because I was using a fobus holster and it was just getting beat up. I also wanted a "race" holster for my glocks. I used to shoot L10, production, and limited scattered through out, but this year I most shot only L-10 and next year I plan on shooting Limited only. I really like the Hogue alot, although I cannot compare it to any others as I have not used anything else. The magnets do a good job of holding the pistol in place, if you are standing, but I would not trust it if I were moving. On moving starts, I have used it locked and unlock it on the draw without slowing down too much. The key to the hogue holster is setting up and fitting it correctly to the pistol so the lock is against the trigger guard. I also "lubed" the lock mechanism with armor-all and it did get alot smoother. I am interested to see if anyone else chimes in and gives their opinion because I would like to know what every likes and dislikes as well. P.S. The armorall is GREAT for cleaning mags and the mag opening on the frame. I now keep a small pack of armorall wipes (like baby diaper wipes) in my bag to clean mags and "lube" them.
  14. I must say that Lori and Ronnie Casper are a class act. The amount of effort that they put fourth along with everyone else that had anything to do with the match was excellent. This was the biggest match I have ever been to and must say it is great to see the level of shooting that I witnessed. Thanks to all. I also wanted to add that everyone in our squad was a joy to shoot with. The Pecoras are a great group of people. Also, John Hill is a great shooter and great squad mate. Regarding the winners, it is INSANE to see just how much above us mortals guys like Sevigny, Manny Bragg, Ted Puente, and Tony Hawkins are in their shooting. I would really like to see Tony Hawkins actually shoot rather than looking at his scores. The guy is a machine! I shot the IL section last year on the same squad as Matt Cheely who was shooting production. I have a LOT of respect for Matt as a shooter and the way he was shooting and times he was posting, I thought we was going to walk away with the match. Later I found out Tony won by 10%!!! What do these guys eat?! Anyway, it was a great match and alot of fun. -RS
  15. Hello, I would like to know if you can shoot the Precision bullets through a glock without problems. I am not so concerned with the 9mm, but want to know who here is using the Precisions 40's, namely the 180gr., through a stock glock barrel. I have heard good things about the bullets and want to know if a aftermarket barrel is really necessary. The Precision website has testimonials of guys shooting them through glocks. Your posts are greatly appreaciated. Thanks, RS
  16. Man these things rock! My friend Scott has has a navigation system and I never though I needed one until I tried it. They are very helpful in driving to matches, especially in areas you are not familiar with. I was going to bite the bullet and pay the $800 for a portable unit like the Garmin or TomTom unit, then I stumbled across Pocket PC based units. I just tried it today going to the Northern IL section match in the middle of nowhere and it is AWESOME. I paid about $200 for the wireless bluetooth GPS receiver and Navigation software. I already had a PDA phone (tmobile MDA) and thought I would try it since it had a money back guarantee. I simply loaded the software and turned on the GPS unit. It was that easy. Let me just say it is incredibly accurate, and well worth the $200. Now when traveling and I am hungry or need to reroute, the navigation tells me where to go. Anyway,my new toy... RS
  17. There is an easy solution to this that I use. Go to www.anonymouse.org. Then from that website you can enter ANY URL that is blocked without problem. I ran into the same problem while at a coffee house here (Panera Bread) that has free WIFI. I wanted to check BrianEnos.com but couldn't. This was the trick. -RS
  18. I just got back from a great match, unfortunately my performace was probably the worst I have shot since I started. 5 mikes on the standards course alone, plus MANY mikes and no shoots during the match. I only did well on one stage and that was the chrono! Either way, it was a great match. Not very friendly toward us short folks as there were quite a few targets that were placed low behind some high ports, but shooting is fun. The weather could have been better, but Dale, Dan, and all the folks did a GREAT job putting together a challenging and fun match. Last time I checked, they didn't control the weather. Thanks! RS
  19. Did anyone check out the videos for the WI sectional? The guy shooting the beretta was using the Speedcomps!!! I have to say, I may not be the fastest guy with reloads, but the Speedcomps really do help me not fumble the reload as the motion is so natural. Definitely worth a look. Does anyone else here use them? Your thoughts please. -RS
  20. I think we are all missing the main point here... THANK GOD NO ONE WAS HURT!!
  21. I used to used an all all fobus rig, but now use speedcomp. The design lets you grab the mags in a more "repeatable" fashion. I like them alot and they really have helped me from fumbling my reloads. I still use the same old $10 fobus holster though. You can check them out at www.barneybuddy.com -RS
  22. I have a used one that I could sell you if you are interested. I purchased from buffer technologies. I likes it because it was plastic. Needless to say, it helps more as a "grip enhancer" than a magwell, but is it not bad and well built. I now have a dawson ice magwell for my glock. If you are interested in the used magwell, how does $11 sound? That plus $4.05 to ship priority mail since it is easier using USPS packaging. Call it $15 total? RS
