  1. eerw, It's the standard T-1 comp, no ports. I don't think ports would help any since the barrel is so short. DaG
  2. dirtypool40, I have had mine for 3 mos. now and love it. It's very fast handling......maybe too fast as I have have been overunning targets. When the gun first came out everyone was talking about how bad the recoil would be and trouble making major. No problems with either. Recoil is very manageable due to the design of the comp and recoil master. It actually shoots softer than my 5" SV. Making major is not that difficult. 8.7 3n37 @ 1.240 = 1363 8.3 n350 @ 1.240 = 1350 these loads are with MG 124's. I tried IMR 7625 today.... 7.2 @ 1.245 = 1322 (163.9 pf) A few more 10ths' and IMR is the way to go. The only thing that I don't like about the factory setup is the scope mount. Sets up waaaayyy to high! Maybe Mrs. Claus will bring me a Brazos mount for Xmas. The standard scope is the OKO. I love this scope....larger field of view and a backup set of iron sights to boot. For the A,B class shooter wanting to progress, I think this is the gun. I know my scores have gone up and so has my confidence. Then again, this is only my opinion. DaG
  3. Does anyone know if the squad list will be posted on the ntps website? DaG
  4. harmongreer, sorry bout that, those are super loads. DaG
  5. 9 lb. ISMI recoil spring, 15 lb mainspring, and a Dawson "fast" firing pin stop. It will hit you harder but it sure is flat. At least in my gun anyway. DaG
  6. Hey Guys, I have a STInger also and it is the flattest and softest shooting open gun I have ever owned. VERY, VERY fast handling. Actually its easy to make major........8.8 3n37 @1.245 124 MG = 1363 or 8.3 n350 = 1350. No pressure signs. DaG
  7. Jon Nice ride, is that the same one you shot the GA state match with? I'm the guy that was shootin' the STInger. I found that when I switched to a shorty, I had to make some adjustments also. Finally, after reading Brian's book again, I decided to hang on, pull the trigger, and enjoy the ride. I too tried to control the dot, but finally realized relaxation was the key. (for me anyway) DaG
  8. PEETERSMARC I can't help you on the 9mm load, but my STInger in super has no problem with making major. I bumped my normal load up 4/10 ths to get a comfortable 170 pf. 8.8 3n37 124 MG @ 1.245 . Very soft shooting. DaG
  9. I'm going, shootin "B" open. Anybody seen a squad list or stage info? DaG

    light main spring

Nate I ran a 15 lb mainspring and a 9 lb recoil spring with shok-buff. It felt better to me than 17 and 14. You just have to try different weights and experiment. It's all about what" feels better " to you, the shooter. Just my 02. DaG
  11. Bob, Can the limited SC model be had with a short dc and classic slide? DaG
  12. Have you considered a STInger? I got mine about two weeks ago and it is AWESOME!!!!! Dont get me wrong, i'm not knocking the other two as I was about to drop the cash on one of the two when the STInger fell into my lap. It is the absolute softest and flattest shooting open gun I have ever shot. I think in part due to the design of the trubor barrel. The trubor design is one piece, no comp to loosen up or "clock". It also makes the entire unit shorter due to the lack of threads. Less weight = shorter, faster handling gun. Just my .02 cents. DaG
  13. STI 140's with Grams Format spring/follower and Dawson +2 pads get 22 rds. BUT......anything over 20 and the rds go below the rib of the STI mag and things can get freaky. DaG
  14. I did the same thing. svi triggers(ITS & TRI-GLIDES) are a few thousandths longer than most others. Bob at Brazos told me you have to cut the back of the sear to get the trigger to fit properly. The extra length may have caused the disconnect to keep the sear dis-engaged. Called SV about it, and they said "just mash it in there, it will fit". Hope this helps. DaG
  15. AndrewB, I was just wondering what factors made you decide to go with a T2 comp? I got my STInger last week with the S1 and it seems to shoot alot flatter than my SV with 3 chambers and 4 lateral ports. DaG
  16. Andrew B, Bob at Brazos Custom tuned my 170 and it holds 29. The down side to this is if you continually load to the max, it puts added down pressure on the mag release causing the grip frame to crack. But it sure feels good to know that you have 30 rds at your fingertip. DaG

    Draw and Reload times

Nick and TriggerT My splits hover around .18-.20 . My transitions though are horrible. .25-.30 . TJ once told me that the speed of the draw dictates the speed of the stage. Then he said splits mean nothing. So I'm kinda lost if I am where I should be for my class/percent.
  18. O.K. guys, need some input here. I am a low B class open shooter 62.4 %. My draw times at 7 yds av. 1.0 to 1.1 with A hits 80% of the time. My reloads av. 1.2, (even though I hit a .99 reload today and bout soiled my pants, felt real good.) Are these slow times for my class or am I about where I should be? Thanks for any input. Darren

    Extractors

Leo, Thanks for the reply. The gun was orginally tuned for supercomp when I got it. I began running super brass and now at about 1500 rds later, it seems to snakebite me every once in awhile. Could the larger rim of the super brass have taken away some of the tension? The hook is .020 deep with the lower edge having been radiused and polished. With the slide off, it will still hold a loaded no problem, but that 1 rd. out of 100 or so fails to extract. Darren
  21. I was wondering if anybody has any data on extractor tension for 38 supercomp. I know it's more than super brass, but how much more? I once read that Jack Weigand said 25-28 ounces is enough tension for 45 acp but i can't find any data in ounces of tension for super or supercomp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Darren
  22. Just got 1k of 9mm today and it was ordered late monday eve. Excellent service. Bad news is prices will increase effective 3-01-04.
