    Ak-47 Mp3 Player

Well, this isnt actually a joke, but I thought it was funny none the less. Its an MP3 player that holds 20gig of songs. Its made from AK-47 Magazines. Here is the link... AK-MP3 I wonder if she comes with it... The imagination of some ppl never ceases to amaze me..
  3. I thought about putting my 650 on a power tool stand that I found at Lowe's. Looks like the same thing. I already had one of those Gorilla benches that I got on close out for 30 bucks so I just put it on it.
  4. LOL the 650 is too damn easy. However, if ya have it set up right your not gonna double charge. Your powder check sensor will catch that. Single stage loaders dont need attention deficit disorder thats for sure. Dont watch TV while powdering etc LOL Just pay attention, stay below the book specs and you will be fine. Yea the accessory market esp for rifle reloading is a tempting thing.. I fell prey to much of what you mentioned, with my tumbler, caliper, digital scales and powder dispenser, neck turner, anealing equipment, ... However, I made a media seperator out of a big spagetti strainer and a 5 gal bucket saved a dollar or two there ... because im frugal LOL I dont know about getting that primer machine though LOL I havent grown that lazy... YET.. pretty lazy, but not that lazy
  5. LOL Skywalker Its comical when some ppl esp some of the anti's come across your hobby. The first time my father-in-law (gun control freak) saw that I had about 4000 rounds on the shelf his eyes just kinda glazed over LOL Back when I used to buy my ammo (win white box at the time) I always got a kick out of the response I got at the local walmart when I would take everything they had of two or three calibers. Once the clerk even called the manager. I think because he was scared to sell that much ammo. I always wondered what some unsuspecting LE would think if he stopped me and my friends all loaded up in the explorer on our way to a 3 gun shoot. That could be interesting too..
  6. Alot of truth previously in this thread. I suggest taking it a step at a time and buying a single stage press and working that for a while before ya step up to a Dillion 650 or another progressive. A RCBS Rock Chucker for instance wont cost ya that much and will let ya experiment, and get used to the process. Walk before ya run kinda thing... It really will surprise you how easy it is. TBF made an important point that I have seen is true at least for me. He said, I think that is true for my shooting. Yea reloading cuts my costs of producing a round way down. On .45ACP it goes from about 20¢ per shell if your shooting Winchester White Box 230gr FMJ down to about 9¢ or a little less for the same thing reloaded. HOWEVER, I have ended up spending about the same money and shooting more.. so in a way I negated the savings because I continued to funnel the same amount of money into my habit Now, if ya dont mind lead and ya wanted to load with lead bullets instead of jacketed bullets then ya end up dropping the price of reloading even more down to about a nickel per shell or so. My two cents, your mileage may vary...
  7. thanks for the response. I think I will try them the next time I get low on bullets.
  8. Rose Distribution Has anyone here ever used these folks? Price wise, on .45ACP 230gr FMJ they are really close to the MidwayUSA price for Winchester bulk. However, on orders over 1000 they offer free shipping. I usually order 2000 rounds at a time and thats $34 in savings per order compared to the MidwayUSA price. If anyone has experience with these bullets, what is the quality difference between them and the Winchester bulk?
  9. Well, at the clubs I visit here in NC we shoot with concealment almost all the time. Not in classifiers etc but in senario stages its usually required unless it is extremely hot. I think that above 95 degrees we shed the concealment if I remember right. Something like that.
  10. I run a Blade-Tec with mine. Works great.

    Iraq Vs. Kentucky

AikiDale, I agree with ya.. same thing goes for Western North Carolina
  12. Well, we shoot our SOs through first instead of running squads. The reason for that is uniformity of how a stage is ran. One set of SOs run that stage for the whole day.. everyone gets treated the same on cover, scores, etc. That said, when we run ppl who want to run more than one gun we make em choose one gun for score. They can run the other, but not for score. The one for score they have to go through the stages with first.. Their "cold" pass. This I think is more fair to other competitors. You guys and I both know that the second time through a stage is usually quicker than the first time. Thats why we wont allow the second gun to be ran for score. When your not running squads ya can just have the guy run his score gun through first, then go back to the safe area and switch up and start through again. He goes to the back of the line on the stages and it doesnt seem to piss ppl off. At the clubs that I have visited that ran squads, it was a one gun only rule.
  13. At the clubs I have shot at and done some SOing at we did not allow the lights to be mounted. We did this just for uniformity. That way on daylight stages the weight of the light wasnt a competitive advantage and at night everyone had to manipulate a light with their weak hand.
  14. Well, I shoot a S&W 625 in SSR. I started out using Win White Box 230gr .45ACPs. Then as I started shooting more I went to hand loads of 230gr Round Nose FMJ. This worked both in my 625 and my 1911. I did some chrono work and found a comfortable spot just above the power floor for the 1911 in CDP. Later on I got to thinking about pushing the 625 on down to see how it acts near the power floor. What I found was that yes you can push it way down. Pushing it down to about 575fps gives ya a 132 power factor which is a bit above the floor. The heavy 625 handles nicely at this level. However, there is always a draw back. IF you have longer shots. It may hurt you. What I found as I worked these loads lower and lower is that the extreme spread on my ammo got greater and greater. Common sense tells me that this is due to the casing being so empty. So, powder against the bullet in the front of the case gives ya a lower speed, while powder against the primer gives ya a slightly higher speed. During recoil where is it? Its just like rolling dice to choose which bullets will be fast and which will be slow. I think (dont have the chrono data here in front of me) that the ES at the lower power factors were rising to nearly 90 fps. So it may hurt ya on a long shot of say 40 yds which I have on ocassion seen. This said, at close distance it rocks on paper. I havent tried it on steel yet to see if it would drop it effectively. So IF it will work on the steel as I suspect it will, I think the "gamer" thing to do would be to carry segregated ammo. As long as everything is close just stick with the barely legal ammo. If ya have something that needs more accuracy, then have some handy and just shoot that stage hot. This is all guessing because I havent done anything but some initial chrono work thus far, but thats my thoughts on it at the moment. Maybe the 90 fps difference wouldnt hurt ya on a 40 yd 8 inch plate. I havent really done the work to find out yet. For now though I would feel most comfortable keeping some of the normal 175 power factor stuff handy just in case.
