  1. Well done, looks as nice as any I've seen. Buddy
  2. I like it just like it is. I see no need to add another division, but wouldn't care if they do as long as L-10 stays. I don't shoot it often, but like to switch around some. I shot a match yesterday and there were 55 shooters and five were Open Division. We shoot at different clubs each weekend of the month and this is representative of the number of shooters in the Open Division at each match. Buddy
  3. Welcome to the forum. If you like IDPA...just wait until you shoot USPSA. Running and gunning with more targets and shots plus less restrictions. Folks, you're in for some real fun. Good Luck, Buddy
  4. Iosso brass cleaner with corn cob media (buy from pet store) and tumble for one to two hours and your brass will shine like new. Buddy
  5. I was shooting my air-soft in my shop and I put the targets in a cardboard box. After shooting I noticed that some of the pellets had gone through the box. Then I notice that I had dozens of small dent in my metal doors behind the boxes. This was with a stock Caspian air-soft. I would make sure my car, motorcycle, windows, and anything else I didn't want broke or dented, was out of the line of fire. Buddy
  6. I know three or four guys that shoot stock Edges and one that shoots a stock STI (don't know the model). My Limited gun is a Dawson Edge with a custom 6" top end. The guns out of the box will do everything that you could do with a custom. Maybe a piece of grip tape or a few file strokes and changing a spring would help, but a full custom is not necessary to play this game. Does my 6" make me shoot better? I'd like to think so, but probably not. I have some real nice custom 1911's, however, I shoot a Colt parts gun in Single Stack. I just seem to shoot it better. Buddy
  7. Brownell's usually gives SHOT Show attendees a discount code that is good through April. Did they give one this year? Thanks, Buddy
  8. Don't let the post above scare you. You can do it for around a hundred if you have to do so. A Uncle Mike's for about $25, Bladetech quad mag pouch $40, and a CR Speed double belt for $60. That is the retail price at Brownell's so it can be bought for a few dollars less. If you can afford nicer equipment, by all means buy it. If not, then this will get you going and you will right there with the others. Good Luck
  9. I have a .185 height on my 6" STI and I find I need a bit taller front sight to get a tad more adjustment. My sight is cranked all the way down to give me POA to POI at 18 yards. It may be my load, me, the gun, or a combination...I don't know. I just know I just ordered a new sight from Brownells to make the adjustment (.200). I like the narrow sights, too. I use the .100. My 5" Dawson came with a .185 also. Buddy
  10. Teflon tape will help keep them from moving as will finger nail polish and Locktite. I have used each from time to time for some of my dies that have a tendency to move. Most of them stay put when cranked down, but some do lose adjustment from time to time. Also a deep socket on a ratchet wrench works pretty good along with the Dillon's pot metal wrench, when dies need adjusting.
  11. My 550 is from the 80"s and Dillion has always sent me the new parts and they have fit. The powder measure with the springs will last many thousands of rounds (over a 100K) before it will give you trouble and they (Dillon) change it out with the newer style. I have a 650 for my Limited gun's ammo, but use the 550 for the 9mm, 9x23, and .45. The 550 is every bit as good as the 650, just slower. Set that old press up and get to loading, it is a good press.
  12. I'm done with VV N-320 when my last bit is gone. I don't mind paying the price for the powder because I feel it is superior for my use. I am tired of trying to find it. It was everywhere for a while, then it started drying up. I just bought some E-3 and am going to try Solo 1000, too. Buddy
  13. If you are loading 4 to 5 hundred rounds a week on a single stage press, you'll have time for nothing else. A progressive reloader is the only way to go. I guarantee that you will not shoot as much when you have to load on a single stage press. You will find reasons not to go and shoot because you don't have enough ammo loaded up. Sometimes I walk by my presses (550/650) and decide I want to load some ammo, then I knock out a 100 or so rounds in 10 to 15 minutes. You can't do that with a single stage press.
  14. You don't need an attorney on speed dial, just tell the Officers that you will not talk to them until you have you attorney present. That ends the conversation there. Then keep your mouth shut...even if you are 100% sure that you were justified. Always have a back-up attorney. Sometimes your attorney won't take the case due to a conflict. He may even be sick or on vacation when you need him. If nothing else ask for a public defender. Some of the statements you make may not be used in a criminal proceeding, but if noted (and you can bet they will) could be used in a civil case. Buddy

    Final Sex!

Morris returns from the doctor and tells his wife that the doctor has told him that he has only 24 hours to live. Given the prognosis, Morris asks his wife for sex. Naturally, she agrees, so they make love. About 6 hours later, the husband goes to his wife and says, 'Honey, you know I now have only 18 hours to live. Could we please do it one more time?' Of course, the wife agrees, and they do it again. Later, as the man gets into bed, he looks at his watch and realizes that he now has only 8 hours left. He touches his wife's shoulder and asks, 'Honey, please... just one more time before I die.' She says, 'Of course, Dear,' and they make love for the third time. After this session, the wife rolls over and falls to sleep. Morris, however, worried about his impending, tosses and turns, until he's down to 4 more hours. He taps his wife, who rouses. 'Honey, I have only 4 more hours. Do you think we could...' At this point the wife sits up and says, 'Listen Morris, I have to get up in the morning... you don't.'
  16. I've passed 14 of them through the years. It seem when I have taken all of the pain I can take and ready to pass out........they pass. Then I'm drained for a few days. As stated earlier, DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS! Good Luck, Buddy

    NEW TOY

Um, that would be HER. Granddaughter drew it! I have two Grandsons and no Granddaughters, I guess I had one of those moments. Anyway, I was thinking one thing and writing another. (I guess I better reread this too) Sorry about that.....hope you were able to read between the lines. Buddy

    NEW TOY

Cherish him, he has given you a very special gift. A gift from the heart. Buddy
  19. Very good thread, Curtis. I wish I could say I really practice. I should dry fire every day, but just cannot bring myself to do it. I'll do ten reps or so and get bored and put it away for a month or so and then do it again. I have just started using a .22 cal. top-end on one of my Single Stacks and I am seeing improvement after two sessions. I draw and shoot for an "A" at ten yards and when it is successful, the next draw I shoot for two. If that is successful too, I'll go for six"A" zones on the next draw. Every string is timed and my splits are checked, too. This routine holds my interest and it gives me something (timer results) to check my progress. I saw where the Japanese shooters were practicing with Air-Soft all year and then coming here for a big match like the Steel Challenge. They would practice with a real pistol maybe six weeks and all of them shoot well. My thought is if it works with an Air-Soft, then surly it will work with a .22. Buddy
  20. I've been to the last four SHOT Shows and they (SVI) have not been at any of them. I don't know why they don't go, however, you will see STI, Baer, Wilson, CZ, Glock, and many more. Go to the Louder Than Words booth and see some beautiful pistols. I'm staying at home this year because it is in Orlando, but I'll be in Vegas the next year. I don't gamble and don't drink, but Vegas is a lot more fun. Have a great time! Buddy
  21. For my major loads I use N-320 and a 185 grain LTC bullet. When shooting steel I use the same powder and charge, but use a 140 grain LTC and have used the 155 grain LTC bullets also. I have played with lighter charges and saw no real difference. Swap the bullets and keep it simple. Buddy
  22. Oh yes, I know them. They are the people that use a big word when a little word would suffice.
  23. Steve, I load on a 650 and use range brass and do not have issues. However, I bought a 650 for my son and he had issue after issue with his primer feed locking the whole press up. I would take it apart re-align everything and it would run a few times then stop. I call Dillon and got a different Tech (Mike) and he told me to look in the "primer wheel" holes and see if there was a burr. Sure enough it had a burr in several of them. I polished them out and it ran like that until the new wheel came from Dillon. (the burrs are not very noticeable...I first told Mike that there were none) I think the whole issue started because the bench was not anchored very well and allowed too much movement of the press when loading. The movement flipped a primer and caused the press to lock up. Being big and strong guys...we can power through anything. That is when the burrs got etched into the primer wheel. My suggestion is that you reposition your press and make sure it doesn't move, check for burrs, and buy a couple of hundred once fired brass. Test the brass and see if there is any difference in the loading. I don't think it will be. I have a lot of brass that has been reloaded over ten times. I like the large print. It helps my old eyes read the forum. I too, apologize for the less than warm welcome you received, he probably is having a bad day. Hope this helps, Buddy
