  1. Now to put this to bed, I just got an e mail from John A. As long as I fill in the holes it will be OK. This has been one long day. I'm gonna have a beer.
  2. I had mentioned Ty cylinders in my first post. It was not said as to be non legal, but just a precaution. ( check with John A )I have read about people doing things to their guns and don't want to see them in the same spot as my self.
  3. +1 on the equipment race That could be a thought Spook, have to find a good tig welder to do it. if any one out there wants to help me out, chime in.
  4. Well Guys, Caliber convertions are out too!!!!!! (686 38/357 to a 38 super ) Did I open a can of worms or what?
  5. My preference would be for Flex to edit away this whole thread, you guys keep right on shooting your trick barrels, and we all act like this conversation never happened! It would be nice for it all to go away. If anyone would want it to it would be me.
  6. Thanks gary John A said, The holes went beond the cosmetic mods. I had mentioned Ty cylinders in my first post. It was not said as to be non legal, but just a precaution. ( check with John A )I have read about people doing things to their guns and don't want to see them in the same spot as my self.
  7. I had a bad feeling about the mods aI did to the barrel. So i contacted the powers to be @ USPSA. I was told by them it was not legal because i went beond the acceptable permitted modifications. The holes in the underlug do go through. The ones on the barrel are only inlays. About 1/32" deep. I was trying to take some weight out of the barrel to come close to a 5". I thought it would have come out a little more than an oz. as far as the choice of 10mm/40 or 625, I just like the 40. You know, to each his own. BTW, I do have a 5" 610 as well. just trying to get the weight close to each other.
  8. Don't let this happen to you! I have just found out that my 6.5" 610 is not USPSA legal. I was told, by milling the holes in my barrel gave me a competetive advantage. These holes took a wopping 1oz reduction in weight. this goes for 10mmDave's gun as well. So all you guys doing Ty cylinders and cutting lugs off barrels lugs better think twice. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...pe=post&id=3908
  9. +1 Great vids! Great choice in the music.

    38 Super

Thanks for the link Bill. I knew I saw it some where! I have a 686 5" convertion chambered in 9x23. Like you, i have been playing with the 158 berry bullet. i have not tried the Unique yet but it will be on the list of powders to try. Since the gun is chambered for 9x23, just about anything 9 will chamber fine, With that said, 9major and 9x21 is on my mind. So far, 158 berry with 4.5 Titgroup 9mm shoots @ 160PF it shoots pretty soft and 25 yrd group ( rest on a bench ) is about 2.5", which would meet your head shot requirment. A shooting buddy gave me some of his 9x21 ( major in his Bedell shorty ) gave me a 161PF, again pretty soft. This load is with WW540 ( HS-6 ) and a 115 JHP My 9major for my auto is 8.2 HS-6 w/124FMJ 170PF (auto) In the Revo it comes out to 162PF. The testing continues.

    38 Super

THANKS FOR THE INFO. And yes, I am working up loads for a 5" 686 chambered for 9x23. unusual, yes!! I have been playing more with Major9 than anything else. I am just trying to get a feel to see if any body else was doing the same. I normally shoot a 610 with 40S&W.
  12. just a poll, any one out there using 38 super major in a revo? If so what are your loads? How do they feel? ( felt recoil ) A couriouse mind wants to know. Thanks, John
  13. Here is my Limited 9 minor. It is a Caspian Hi Cap built by yours trully. I don't have a pic of my 40 major gun, but it looks just like the minor one with out the holes in the slide.
  14. What kind of Oakleys do you have? I have the M frame with 4 differant lenses. I was going to sell them because I can't see iron sights. but if there is a way to get my perscription for the M frames I might keep them.
  15. I can not speak for Jims mags, But I can speek for his work as a Caspian smith. Jim built my shorty major 9 a little over a year ago out of bunch of parts I sent him. I can not believe the what he had done with what little i gave him. He built me a first rate blaster out of nothing. Jim is tha man!!!!
  16. Guess that lets the Buick out too Sounds like it. But like Dave said, I did not plan on shooting it in ICORE
  17. Are...you....saying....I left the list lets just you had me worried for a while,
  18. Ok, I guess he's back on my hero list. Great job Dave.
  19. TK Custom He had done a few of them a couple years ago. But I think any Revo smith can do the job. I just picked up a spair cylinder and I plan on doing the deed on my own. I also have a spare cylinder and was going to buy a 9X23 chamber reamer and go/no gauges from Brownell's.I have been a machinist for over 15 years and have access to a mill but didn't know if anything other than reaming the cylinder and converting to moon clips was involved. Basiclly that is all I am going to do myself. I have done moonclip conversions my self so why not this. I am converting an old 6" 586 to a 4" 38 super. I got a spare cylinder and barrel, as soon as they get to my door I will be going to town. Good luck with you project, Keep me posted, and I will let every one know how mine is going.
  20. The conversion on your 686+ is between $75 and $100 pending on who you have do it. The 686+ is a nice revo, but not my first choice for uspsa. The rules is you must reload after 6 rounds fired. But if by chance you take that 7th shot ( like most of us do Ha HA HA ) and it goes bang, Well you just put yourself in Open Minor. Refer to Rule # 6.2.5.1

Then paper R to L This is a tough one with a round gun, This one can go bad real quick.
