Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. People who shoot revolver do so because it is fun, challenging, and we get all of our brass back All of the pompous BS about revos taking longer, its a dying division, we are dinosaurs, we have no competition, ect...ect….is BS. As someone stated previously, revolver shooters come to a match with all their ammo loaded in moons, and typically work more on average taping, scoring, setting steel. Revo shooters typically are not the ones standing behind the line reviewing their helmet cams with their buddies, watching and posting to social media, or generally slacking off while the same small group of people do all the work. If we get rid of a division, we should start with PCC. Rifles have no business being in USPSA...
  2. I guess I am stuck on the first part of sentence, "designed specifically or significantly to lighten the slide" Not really a big deal to me, I am not gearing up to shoot CO regularly. And I do not like rules that are not specific. Specific to me would be "no additional cuts, other than factory, are allowed. Milling of the slide for the purpose of installing and optic is allowed"
  3. My problem is the last sentence in A7, 21.2b "Cuts that are designed to specifically or significantly lighten the slide, such as holes, are ruled as competitive advantage and prohibited" The cuts on this slide do not specifically or significantly lighten the slide. However, the big hole in the G34 slide does (factory ) Is there another rule that addresses thru holes or cuts? I cant seem to find one....
  4. Hi everyone, I recently acquired a G34 Gen 4 and thought I would try Carry Optics. I usually shoot in Revo class, but getting old sucks and I have a difficult time seeing iron sights indoors during local matches in our NE winters. The G34 in question was already built before I purchased it. All I need to do was add an optic, which I did. The EGW mount for the G34 and Vortex Razor works well for my needs. Fast forward to a recent local match. I was using this G34 in Carry optics. I admittedly forgot to remove the mag well that was on the G34, which would have put me into Open class for the day. No problem, my mistake. I ended up having some ammo problems anyway which sunk my day. Now to the other question.....below you see the slide of this G34, which has what I contend are cosmetic cuts. I did not think much about them, since I do not believe they are lightening cuts, and give no significant competitive advantage. But several others at the match said they are not allowed. I looked at the rules for Carry Optics, and came upon this: 21.2b Milling of slide — only as required to insert optical sights A slide may be modified specifically for the purpose of installing optical sights or cocking serrations. Textured finishes, grip tape, milling or stippling on the slide to provide texture is also allowed. Cuts that are designed to specifically or significantly lighten the slide, such as holes, are ruled as competitive advantage and prohibited
  5. I have had many BB grips. None were comfortable. I have large hands and long fingers. Recently went to a Nils grip. They are awesome. Trigger finger is in the right position, and I feel my control is much better. Pricey, but well worth the wait for me.
  6. From a purely business/organization stand point, eliminating a division really does nothing. If a division is causing undue hardship, loss of revenue, public outcry (well lets face it, guns in general do this) or does not follow the mission statement of the organization, then eliminate. At the national level, I would agree that a division should have a minimum number of participants to qualify for prizes or plaques. At the local level, win or lose, we all receive the same thing.....nada.....;-) For full disclosure, I shoot in the revolver division........at least I try.....
  7. Thanks for the info everyone. Have a great 4 th!
  8. Does anyone know of any USPSA clubs in the Chico California area. Searched the USPSA website, but not much help. Thanks
  9. Too bad this firearm can not be used in production. I have handled the Glosks and the S&W M&P that are popular in this class and are not crazy about how they feel. The fact that I live in the Peoples Republic of Mass. limits other choices such as a Para LDA (hard to find at a reasonable price). Thanks for everyones help. Maybe I will just go with L10.
  10. Curious.....no single action production pistols allowed in this class?
  11. I am planning on trying production in USPSA. I currently am looking at getting a Para PX14-45SE. I like the feel, as I have large hands. I would plan on loading 185g loaded down. My question is whether or not this firearm would be allowed in production. Thanks.
  12. dgsmith, Did you order the Merckle, or the hogue? I am looking for one also. Where did you order yours? Thanks!
  13. Has this gone anywhere? Does anyone know of a company to purchase these from other than the factory? Internet store, maybe a shop in Canada?
  14. Thanks to everyone for the input. I may just have to bear down and have it moonclipped. I have heard good thing about the Longwitz speedloaders, however I have not found a US source yet, or if there is one.
  15. Just wanted to tap into the knowledge base of the experienced revolver shooters. I am looking for options for speed loaders to use with a recent acquisition of a S&W 627-0 6 shot N frame revolver. Thanks for any input.
