Ok Guys let me clear something up here... It was brought to my attention about my post (#22) someone had issues with... The pic I posted is an AIRSOFT pic and I dont know who built it but apparantly it wasnt built by Dan Bedell (knocked off by a chinese manufacturer, I guess) ... I posted that pic to show that design and my intention was not to cause any issues for these 2 gunsmiths... This person mention that Jimmy Vidanes made it ... Thats not the fact, I said " I was gonna have Jimmy Vidanes build it for me" ... The 2 pics on ( #29) is what Jimmy Vidanes has built. Its close to the design, I posted and a design I fell in love with, which is the second pic of post #29...So before this thing goes out of controll. To whom it may concern; Please read carefully what I said and dont imply I said something I did not...

I for one have been using a aluma buff ... Its only because I use factory HST ammo sometimes in my pistol. I run a 10lbs recoil spring as well and for me its just alittle insurance. I've shot close to 6000rds since installing the buff and it has wear marks already and I like how the pistol feels with it on... I havent had any issues with the buffer being in there and it hasnt cause any malfunctions and I'm pretty religious when it comes to cleaning my pistol... So to me its just alittle insurance on saving my frame from damage since I live in a non-free state (Kalifornia) and its hard to get replacement frame out here with out paying a $1000 bucks for one...

plain simple you cant go wrong with all the builders listed... But, the cheapest way is to get a 6" Eagle and modify it to your liking if you think some part needs improvement. And you can always make stuff lighter not heavier... I thought about it when I made my 6" purchase...

It's the IPSC World Shoot. IPSC rules will be followed, to the letter. Thank you. Something to consider before im going all out. Just dont get rid of your 5" pistol ... Save that for IPSC because 6" pistols would not fit in the box and throw you into open class

On the second pic of the open gun I posted by Jimmy Vidanes ... Its actually a 6.25" pistol ... The slide is a milled 5" to a 4" still uses a 5" recoil system and uses a commander barrel. question why would a 4" slide be more beneficial than a 6" slide with a lightening cuts ??? The way Jimmy did it looked pretty radical and love that pistol but I didnt like the short barrel being used... I was going to stay with the 6" barrel and do a sight tracker with 6" slide with lightening cuts. So I could still have the added barrel lenght to gain velocity and maybe lower the powder charge for less recoil and snap...

I currently shoot an STI Edge w/ a SV Infinity extra wide thumb safety but what I meant to say was about those front pedal thumb rest... but for some reason the post gets edited everytime you say g a s pedal

I for one is kinda hesitant on using a thumb rest (*thumb rest [generic]*) ... because I wouldnt have one on my HD pistol. But, I am interested in testing one out because I've never tried it... Once my open top end is built I'll try it out and see if I like it... If I do I'll try it on my Limited gun if it works for me...

That would be interesting why not something like this ??? Minus the comp of course ... I was gonna have Jimmy Vidanes @ 1911 Speed Shop in Riverside;make this for me... But in 45acp; just for kicks and my own personal amusement; on a 6" tactical frame...

currently they are legal for USPSA Limited and Limited 10 ...The 6" is not .. not until 2013

Appendix D2-22 has the answer Appendix D2 will end at number 20 in 2013...... That would make recoil reducing devides that aren't comps or ports legal..... wow!!! I dont know what to think about that ... I dont know if I would use one.

AND ..and indeed, what you found is that your HK45 gives you a very bad first shot, and another gun works better for you. One would think this should make you think about your defense situations, since training is how you consider USPSA Production... So---why again is this an argument for trigger pull weight limits? (When, out of all things, it showed you clearly that a bad first shot is a problem, and that a lower trigger weight works better?) I'm just using my experience as an example of what other pistols DA/SA pistol have to deal with... I cannot speak for other pistols I dont have and have not shot. Using my own experience... An the P30LS my decision wasnt solely on trigger ... 9mm vs 45acp, I wasnt reloading then... P30LS variant 1 was better because it was Double action only or LEM variant if you know your HK's... Being new to USPSA and having choosen the P30LS was one less thing to worry about screwing up. With my USP I had to decock @ the start of the stage and with my P30LS I didnt. And when I was shooting with my USP, I was screwing up @ the show clear because instead of pulling the trigger; I was decocking... With the P30LS I didnt have a decocker... I now have an STI Edge and run strickly in Limited but planning on purchasing a G34 and start shooting production again. I like DA only or SA only pistols now... The STI made me confident and actually taught me alot of things that made me a better shot... Still not a better shooter in USPSA just a better hole puncher...

I said I wanted to be a proficient and accurate shooter. Where else can you learn to move, acquire targets and engauge them and do reloads on the move @ a pressured pace ??? This is what I take in from me shooting USPSA ... All these things I cannot learn in an indoor range just punching paper ... If you look at it as training and want to gain proficiency with your particular gun, why does it matter how heavy other triggers are? It doesnt matter ... I said I agreed to the rulling and I agree that it would level the playing field in the gear department for the people that take USPSA as a game...

Tyshoots; you dont have to change anything... its 3lbs on the first shot... You stated you have a 5lb DA trigger pull... Well, arent you suppose to have the hammer down before the begining a stage in Production ??? I had to decock my HK USP at every start of the stage...

I voted that I dont shoot production but agree to it because I use to shoot production and will be getting back to shooting production... I shot production with my HK USP 45 (my home defense pistol) and my HK P30LS variant 1 ( DA only with a 4lb trigger) The first trigger pull on my HK USP made me get a P30LS DA because the first shot was 13lbs and threw my rhythm off ... there isnt any aftermarket triggers for HK's other than the factory Match trigger kit which still a 7lb trigger pull and a 4.5lb single action... The 3lb trigger ruling only affects the pistols with extensive aftermarket support. This levels the playing field in the gear department. If the people who are upset about the 3lb rule, say its not the trigger that made them good ... Then what are we arguing about ??? If its truely "The Indian not the Arrow" analogy ... Then the GM / M / A / B class Indian can adapt to any pistol he has in his hand... I still think that a if your finger only travels 2.5" of travel to break 10shots @ sub 3lbs vs an HK's 5" to 6" of travel to break 10shots @ 4.5lbs is an advantage... This is my arguement, not every pistol on the approve rost has aftermarket triggers that makes movement down to an 1/8th of inch of trigger pull and another 1/8th of inch to reset... The 3lb rulling will level the playing field in the gear department and if your more skilled than me ( which most likely you are) then thats what differs you from me... Its your skill !!! then adapt

I still agree with the trigger pull weight... Without bringing the skill to the table. Because if its truely the "Indian and not the arrow" analogy. The bad ass Indian can adapt to any trigger pull... I'm in the minority on the voting because I agree to it... It levels the playing field when it comes to gear... Like I said before not all pistol on the approve list have the aftermarket support to even get the trigger pull close to the 3lb first shot. I know I bring up HK's because of my past experience... HK with a $120 dollar match trigger kit still only 4.5 to 5lb SA and 7.5lb DA ... To get it lower your have to spend considerably more to get to 3lbs SA.

The reasoning for me choosing a Glock is, its something I can easily find here in California and its on the stooopid roster and it can serve a duel purpose ; a Production Pistol and a Home Defense pistol. And I need something I call a "throw away gun" ... Something that wont make me and my wallet cry; when the cops take it away when I have to use it in a home defense situation. Ala "Throw Away Gun" because guaranteed that you'll never see it again or it'll come back in pieces and rusted up... Imagine that for one of your Custom Pistols... TAG... I'd be thrilled to hand over a $3,500 blaster if it saved my bacon. Truly. If it only cost $75 bucks, I'd be in love with that, too. What I can afford to lose to law enforcement is not an overriding factor in why I sometimes shoot Production. Getting off topic ... sorry Its what I came up with after weight in all the factors... My STI's are alittle hard to get here in California. So thats why I'm reluctant to give them up... Which is why I chose Glocks for my dual purpose pistol. One of the major factors reliability...

Is that a California law or something? I think FFL's can ship directly to other FFL's via the United States Postal Service and it doesn't necessarily have to be overnight, either. Not a California Law... Gray Guns (last I check) will only accept Fedex OverNight ... And that $90 each way ... Kinda expensive for a 3lb trigger pull and some nickel plate parts... Not to take away from Mr. Gray just alittle expensive for my wallet...

on the 3lbs trigger pull ... I say this will level the playing field because alot of other pistol out there dont have enough after market support to keep up with the Glocks and the CZ's... One example is HK's ... I use to shoot production with my USP and I moved to Limited 10 to Limited (when I got my Edge). I can get my HK USP to a clean and crisp 3.5 to 4lbs trigger pull but anything lower would require sending it to GrayGuns for work. And thats a $500 trigger job because of the overnight shipping ( @ $90 a pop each way). I say with the minimum requirement thats definitely a plus for the pistols that dont have enough aftermarket support. Either way for a DA/SA CZ its work and will also work with certain Glock triggers ( like the EDGE from GlockTriggers.com)... So I say I agree with the rulling ... Plan on going back to production once I find myself some cash to buy a G34...

Wait does this mean... I can have a 6" sight tracker in Limited ; now that they'll get rid of the 500 minimum units ???
